Passing is the smartest play if you don't feel good about any games. I passed on yesterday. I think Friday and Saturdays are usually the best day to bet NBA. Thursday is usually a crapshoot, IMO.

Good thread, Marvin. I'll be watching and hoping you don't counter anything I do. I did like your insight into trends with the officials. That's something I've never really paid attention to be before.

Both teams play fast pace up tempo game. DEN ran at home in full speed and TWolfs will ran with them. After last night loss MIN will bounce back and will play solid game. Lawson should be out, but no mater for this game. Just need normal shooting % couse there will be a lot attempts. Also need to make FT'S 70+ %

Since your from Canada I would guess you like Hockey,but doesnt mean you play it,but the only sport Ive had my own success on is baseball,as I find this one to be the easiest to cap,based on the biggest part of the game is the pitchers.
I might have a play on College Football tonight. I will post it here. I like NHL at the second half of the season and also selected MLB games.

I was pretty successful during last season's March Madness, but I was lucky more than usual. That is when I gave myself a word that I would not send those winnings back to the books.

eezmoney - the reason the totals were so high is the last game between those teams. Otherwise there was no justification for that. Melos has already explained pretty extensively the numbers

Im not interested in the actual picks, but rather how Mavin and others determine if there will be a pick. What makes it a pick?

What makes the "tail tingle" and makes it a pick over other games? Obviously if you are picking from a mathematical model there is a number that is the threshold of wether that will be a play or not. But how does everyone make that call when it comes from feelings? Im very facinated how people make their betting decisions.

The best picks for me are the spot picks. For an example - the Clips losing to GS was a spot pick. Read the reasoning and you will understand what I mean. I also like to see when the line is so off the logical line (set by stats and computer simulations) that I understand the books know something about that, I like when the logical outcome, the public and the line movements are all in the same direction, but that has to be either on Tuesday or Wednesday. Otherwise - there are everyday a game like that, or even two -but it's easier to identify and count on two days I mentioned. And few other techniques as well when the line moves against the public and the margin is big ETC

No play tonight for me. One lean is under Denver/Minn. Denver is a different team when Andre Miller is controlling the ball vs Ty Lawson. I cringe when I take an over and watch Andre Miller back a guy down for 10 seconds. Wouldn't be surprised to see a game in the 90's. However, Vegas is too sharp for me with only two games.

Mavin- are you playing the Oregon / Kansas St. Game?  Being that there is no clear cut play today on the NBA board, I'm thinking about parlaying Oregon ML to Nuggets ML.......$100 to win $66.30.....not the greatest payout but seems like a logical play on my end from a lot of the data.....thoughts?

I am going to post College Football game here cause I don't feel like opening a thread on NCAAF forum and jumping between the threads. So, here it is:

Those teams have defenses besides the offenses and the line for totals is artificially inflated in my opinion.
