What's all this nonsense about?  Really, I can't understand it. I don't give a rat's behind about Mavin's handicapping ability. I just appreciate him being the glue that binds this thread together.  Whether or not I tail or fade the picks posted here, ultimately, that's my decision and in no way reflects on those who post their picks here.

Something about today's Min -3 game bothers me.  Here was a classic example of RLM coming back on your behind. It was almost as if bookmakers' trapped those who recognized a trap game in the first place.

Well, we can assume that it was indeed a double trap game on behalf of Vegas. Or something went terribly wrong there. Anyway - the note I'd take from that game is that from a second half when Chicago +5 looked too good to be true line while Minnesota -5 was a long shot and yet was the right play. I learned some time ago that the best wagers are the ones who look hardest

So, how do you guys know which site to be trusted? Going back to MIN -3 game. It looked like a huge RLM the whole day. Well, now I go back to Sports and Odds and actually see that 51% were on MIN. Pregame has CHI at 58%. It happens a lot, when the number are totally opposite on these sites. So, it is  possible, it was RLM after all? And do we know if the numbers supplied by these sites are accurate?   I am just wondering.

Thanks to Phixer and KingMidas for kind words as well as everyone else defending the integrity of this thread. I'm convinced that we are doing something very productive here and it was really nice to hear your feedbacks on the subject. It only gives me more strength to do what I think is right and continue to improve altogether.

While it was obvious most public would back the Bulls at the beginning and shift slowly towards Minnesota as the result of line changes - interpretation of that line movement could only be one - big money on Minnesota. Vegas juiced it out and has no worries as long as it balances the money. The problem is that if Vegas initiated RLM - that was done in a very sharp fashion. But, more often than not - similar situation means Minnesota covering and from that regard - this was a freak occurance.
I didn't take the bet on the whole game but if I had to - without a doubt I'd back Minnesota rather then risking it with the Bulls. We can say that sharps were trapped and paid the opposing bill to the one public won on this game. And the public won on this one more than it lost from later wagers while the sharps lost. Period

I'm nowhere near to being able to make bets that seem hard to me. In those instances, my heart will not abide my mind. I'll settle for what I hold to be an easier play and sure enough, at the end of the day, I'll be kicking myself in the head.  Habits are hard to break. :). You live you learn. Hopefully...

On the Min -5 2nd half though, you do know that scoring fiend Nate Robinson missed 2 freebies with 17 secs left and the equally fiendish Derrick Williams jacked up a 3 and busted it with 7 secs left without running out the clock. I'm just sayin...

If you ever been to NBA teams training - and may be you have - you'd be amazed to see how professional those guys are. They can almost score from every position on the court and when uncontested 3s come - they just fly in like you can't believe. I have a hard time believing anything is accidental most of the time - but hey - everyone's entitled to an opinion.
When I mean hardest to bet on - I mean hardest to pull the trigger on although you know that the whole world is pulling the trigger on opposite play that looks so easy - something is usually wrong in those instances and I'd better go with the hard and less obvious that the other way around

An opinion. Nothing more.  More than anything I found it amusing.

I know what you mean. I appreciate it too. Maybe one day I'll muster enough fortitude to trust my gut and when I get rewarded, I'll remember this thread. You know I rolled my eyes when I read posts here exclaiming how this thread has been helpful and I've become that pathetic person.  Lol.

Period

Maybe Floyd Mayweather was trying to recoup his seven million.

Hello friends and trolls!  Got one bet Im locking in right now...

Gonna go with the Grizzlies Wizards under.  Both teams strong under teams, Grizzlies 27-41-1 o/u, Wizards 26-40-3 o/u.  Under is 4-0 last 4 Grizzlie games and 4-1 last 5 meetings between these 2.  Gasol is out for Memphis and he is the second leading scorer for that team.

    33-27

    Under 182.5 MEM Grizzlies-WAS Wizards

    BOL!

One of the reasons the Magic are struggling so badly is because they are  basically putting a D-League lineup on the court right now with starters Afflalo and Davis out for the season and Vucevic currently out with a concussion. To give you an idea of the impact of missing those three players, Afflalo and Davis are still Orlando's two leading scorers combining for 31.6 points per game and Vucevic is the leading rebounder with a monstrous 11.5 per game while also adding 12.4 points. The Magic are 23rd in the NBA in scoring with 94.2 points per game over the entire season, and they are obviously struggling a lot more right now with all of the little firepower that the team had disabled. Nelson is now Orlando's only proven NBA weapon, as the Magic's starting lineup last game included the likes of Moe Harkless, Tobias Harris and Kyle O'Quinn.

The 'under' is 19-6-1 in the last 26 Miami division games and 8-2 in the last 10 Miami games when playing with no rest. The 'under' is also 45-22-2 in the last 69 Orlando division games.

    CP74   28-25-1

    Under 198.5 ORL Magic-MIA Heat
