i think some of you guys are totally insane...

u still dont get it, why would i want to drop the wagers for the project?

i started with $1000, i ran that to $2297..... its now at $1430..

this money is peanuts.... it was always more about the Program, than about the money...

i have always said to lower your wagers for your overall bankroll.. ive said many times 1%...

for the life of me, i dont know why you guys cant understand that.

do you really think it matters, if your betting $45 or $35 or $25.. the money being used here was allocated to do a Project, it is not how i advise to bet Overall...

ive said this about 1000 times...

someday, im going to show you boys just how to really make money in this business...

LOOK, have i turned a Profit in this thread.... uh Yes, im up 43% in 100 days...

Is my other thread showing a Profit,,,, uh yes...

Guys, i do not lose money.... simple as that....

i think that im really close to hitting my perfect scenario for betting, by combining a little from each of the 2 threads that im running...

sorry for offending anyone but stop telling me to lower my wagers for this PROJECT.... have you not ever had $1000 laying on the side to try something with.... if i get back down to $1000, i will not only lower the wagers, i will stop...

as i said, someday soon, im going to show you boys the real goods...

GL to all, I'll stick with dj_destroyer and advise you all do the same.  At least he's good at accepting criticism and changing what is good/bad about his capping skills

Who are you to tell him what he should and shouldn't do with his money?  He came in here, told everyone how he is going to play and has stuck to it.  So what.  What is your concern with whether he is or isn't lowering his wagers?  He has already stated this is a small sum of money to him so he is trying out his project.  He isn't making you tail him.  So why should you get so bent out of shape about it.  If you want to tail his picks and lower your wagers when you go below certain thresholds then do it.  Why should he have to?  It is his money.
Besides who are you to be talking about people with or without capping skills when you by your own admission have none.  All you do is tail people and then apparently turn on them as soon as they slump.
Not three weeks ago you were falcon's attack dog and saying how you respect him and now you insult him and claim you will be posting for the last time in his thread because the system has been losing.  Pretty classless.

You're not making any sense.  You claim it's about the program and not the money, but you're letting the money dictate whether the program continues.  If $1000 is, as you say, peanuts, then why would you stop if you dip lower than $1000?  Similarly, why would you stop if you don't reach your January 1st goal of $1750 (?) if it's not about the money?

You may reach your 48-50% winners, get your +1.25 average payback, and still be losing money.  And I believe that is why everyone is talking about lowering the wagers.

You know what will likely contribute to you falling/not falling below the $1000 level?  Proper money management.  That alone could potentially keep the bankroll above $1000 and keep the program going.  And who knows, maybe you do have an amazing program here that can make you rich, but you'll never know if you can it in order to save your peanuts.

If you don't want to lower your wagers, well, that's up to you.  But if it's truly about the program and not the money, then prove it.  Keep the program going, because it certainly hasn't failed so far.

i started with $1000, i ran that to $2297..... its now at $1430..

this money is peanuts.... it was always more about the Program, than about the money...

i have always said to lower your wagers for your overall bankroll.. ive said many times 1%...

for the life of me, i dont know why you guys cant understand that.

do you really think it matters, if your betting $45 or $35 or $25.. the money being used here was allocated to do a Project, it is not how i advise to bet Overall...

ive said this about 1000 times...

someday, im going to show you boys just how to really make money in this business...

There's been lots of thread here which have ran well over 100 days.. had a couple myself.. About to start another tonight, time permitting.

Why are you so stubborn to not accept ideas about how to improve things??? It's becoming more and more clear that you aren't here to help anyone but yourself, otherwise you would be willing to listen to constructive criticism. You can't be that oblivious to not realize how many people are (were) following this "Program", yet you seem to not care about any of them losing their money.. When you're playing from behind the goal is to stay in the game as long as possible, by stopping the clock and slowing things down as much as possible. It's the same for this.. once you drop below your goal you need to reset your wager amount to stay in the game that much longer. That way, you're not completely swallowed up with one bad run. Why don't you get that???

Also, computers are supposed to be smart.. when given numerous amounts of data they are known for being able to make some pretty accurate predictions, which makes me wonder if there even is a "program". I really find it hard to believe that a computer would predict some of these picks the past couple of weeks. Case in point - the Sacramento call tonight. I'm curious to know what the "program" says is the percentage of times Sacramento wins tonight straight up? Surely it tells you this number, right, otherwise how would it know it's a value pick compared to the odds it's given??

I've avoided really saying anything in this thread, but if you're going to continue to act like your The Messiah and snubbing the real handicappers around here (you know, the guys who actually know how to handicap) then don't be surprised when your stubbornness suddenly comes under attack..

    "ALL HAIL THE MESSIAH!!"

(ah, crap.. did i miss the bandwagon party?)

Anyways.. on all seriousness, I do wish you luck and hope you meet your January 1st goal. Most people here genuinely want others to succeed at this tough-ass bitch of a hobby (or business for some). So despite your ulterior motives, Best of Luck.

    Cheers

Besides who are you to be talking about people with or without capping skills when you by your own admission have none.  All you do is tail people and then apparently turn on them as soon as they slump.
Not three weeks ago you were falcon's attack dog and saying how you respect him and now you insult him and claim you will be posting for the last time in his thread because the system has been losing.  Pretty classless.

Altho I agree smdio can flip-flop on his views at the blink of an eye, it's the responsibility of this Community to protect the integrity of it. A number of people have done some really great things in this forum and if Thinker wants to be one of them, he should respect the place he's chosen to post. So many people follow what's going on here, many who don't even post, so it should be the author's responsibility to guide people the best way possible, otherwise why are you posting on here?? (Yeah, I know the answer to that, but let's not bring that up now..)
Yes, people are responsible for their own money, but the author should be responsible for giving good advice, no?? The constant preaching of sound money management day after day is great - to contradict your own preaching is just plain, well, stupid!

It's $1000 side money to Thinker, no big deal.. I can guarantee there are numerous people who are playing their entire bankroll on this "program", yet Thinker doesn't want to take any responsibility for anyone else. Then, why sir, is he even posting here in the first place????

    Think about it..

I dunno ... i dont think that Thinker owes anything to anyone, its his thread he can play it how he wants..  i can count on one hand the number of threads here that have lasted 100 days and shown a profit, and his is one of them.I mean if people are going to blindly tail people, doing no work themselves, they are gonna go broke anyway, they will jump on the flavor of the day system put their roll on the line and go busto, whether Thinker stops posting or not, .just my 02

i dont plan to stop posting, i just plan to stop the Project..

this is what i believe,,,,, i have one idea of what this Project is,,,,,,, and many of you have another idea...

i do plan to bring something even  better to this forum in 2011...

i have yet to see a thread run 100 days consecutively... i have missed ZERO days of posting plays in this thread...

kreature, i will discuss gambling all day long but im not looking for advice (sorry)...

dang, you guys made me forget what i wanted to say...

the proof is right here... boys ive posted 460 ML Underdogs in this thread in 100 days... ive won 46.5% of them.... there is nothing wrong with that...

here is my idea of a perfect business plan (for me) and please this is only a perfect plan for me...

75 plays per month: 50 is not enough, 100 is too many... remember this is just for me..

no juice over (-1.20) and i want my average for losses to be (-1.10) but i need the ability to play some totals in baseball and hockey and i need the ability to buy a half point occasionally in football..

id like to hit (58.7%) of the plays correctly.... this will leave me with a monthly record of around (44-31) and allow me to clear (10 units) per month...

playing 2% on each play.... 2% works better for me, remember this is just me...

i like using a computer program but i like having the final say...

im working on something for 2011..... with these parameters...

    rambling, sorry..

That's a good point neilsy, and I'm sure this has happened many times.

I wasn't trying to be mean with my posts earlier, I never intend to be, but I just think if people are going to open themselves up on a very public forum, they should expect to be held accountable for what they post. Positive criticism is usually a good thing.

I guess I just expect more out of people than what they usually give.. sucks to have high standards sometimes.

Nice win on the Leafs/Oilers game tonight, but I think the real winner tonight was Edmonton. Taylor Hall was the best player on the ice by a long shot and the Oilers have to be very excited with the young talent on their team. They will be a force to be reckoned with in a few years.

    Better luck tomorrow Thinker

I guess that's where we differ. I don't want to discuss anything about gambling, I want to discuss Investing..

Advice is something a good Investor listens to, takes into consideration, and then makes a better informed decision.

The World is full of Gamblers, and they all fail in the long run, despite periodic hot streaks.

well we can all see how this ends... (if it ends anytime soon)... i will stick it out (wagering and posting) until one of these 2 criteria are met...

    1. dropping the bankroll Under $1000, it will be over for me.

    2. not meeting the goal of $1750 on Jan 1, it will be over for me

Now im not going to stop posting or wagering, i simply mean the project will end but there is still half a month left and anything is possible... we have had very good runs before...

ive got to run the update now, we are expecting bad weather today and could possible lose power... this is going to require me to be around my store much more today...

update for wednesday dec 15 2010

    Beginning balance on sept 5 2010: $1000

    Current balance on dec 15 2010: $1385

    Computer Program Plays: 216-249 (+$385)

plays for wednesday dec 15 2010

    466. Knicks (+1.50) $45 to win $68

    467. Bruins (+1.05) $45 to win $47

    468. Coyotes (+1.00) $45 to win $45

    469. Rangers (+1.45) $45 to win $65

    470. Blues (+1.65) $45 to win $74

    471. Thrashers (+1.20) $45 to win $54

    472. Carolina (+1.10) $45 to win $50

    473. SJ (+1.10) $45 to win $50

    474. Indianapolis Pacers (+???) $45 to win (???)

    475. Anaheim (+???) $45 to win (???)

there are no lines yet on inday and anaheim but i anticipate both to be dogs... if for some reason they are not dogs, i will not play them.. if they are dogs, i will be on both... i may not be around to quote a line but ill go with whatever i play or what is acceptable here..... the Program likes both, so ill play them...

well we can all see how this ends... (if it ends anytime soon)... i will stick it out (wagering and posting) until one of these 2 criteria are met...

    1. dropping the bankroll Under $1000, it will be over for me.

    2. not meeting the goal of $1750 on Jan 1, it will be over for me

Now im not going to stop posting or wagering, i simply mean the project will end but there is still half a month left and anything is possible... we have had very good runs before...

ive got to run the update now, we are expecting bad weather today and could possible lose power... this is going to require me to be around my store much more today...

update for wednesday dec 15 2010

    Beginning balance on sept 5 2010: $1000

    Current balance on dec 15 2010: $1385

    Computer Program Plays: 216-249 (+$385)

plays for wednesday dec 15 2010

    466. Knicks (+1.50) $45 to win $68

    467. Bruins (+1.05) $45 to win $47

    468. Coyotes (+1.00) $45 to win $45

    469. Rangers (+1.45) $45 to win $65

    470. Blues (+1.65) $45 to win $74

    471. Thrashers (+1.20) $45 to win $54

    472. Carolina (+1.10) $45 to win $50

    473. SJ (+1.10) $45 to win $50

    474. Indianapolis Pacers (+???) $45 to win (???)

    475. Anaheim (+???) $45 to win (???)

there are no lines yet on inday and anaheim but i anticipate both to be dogs... if for some reason they are not dogs, i will not play them.. if they are dogs, i will be on both... i may not be around to quote a line but ill go with whatever i play or what is acceptable here..... the Program likes both, so ill play them...

I believe this is my 1st chime on this thread. I've been away for a while and missed a pretty bad streak by the looks of it. That's not a shot at you Thinker, just an observation. All gambling goes in peaks and valleys.

I think you should see it through regardless of what ANYONE else thinks and do it YOUR way. I don't understand you saying you will stop if you go under $1000 or if you don't make your Jan 1 goal. Maybe spoiled by the early success of the program? It is still up some loot! You stated that $1000 doesn't mean that much to you anyway. Also, you've eclipsed goals way ahead of time in the past, it's only natural to miss a goal at some point.

    Stick with it MAN!!!

jimmyrikards and Kreatture could not have said it any better than posts #1454 and #1455

And yes, I do sometimes flip flop.  But it's almost always justified by new information that surfaced.  In this case, I was a huge proponent of this system and the project, as you can see from posts such as #1333 and #1143.  At that point, I was 100% behind Thinker and this system, regardless of the winning or losing nights.

Thinker's obsession to essentially "throw everyone the finger" (meaning his tailers) and continue his money-mismanagement has completely turned me against him. This thread should have never been started if you truly believe that those tailing it do not matter.

smdio: your confusing what im doing..

my wagers are being reduced for my Overall Bankroll... i said it over and over again, play 1% and adjust daily... cannot be any more clear than that..

the only thing that im against reducing, are the wagers for the project bankroll...

LSU2: appreciate the comments... im not ditching the program, just the project... if i drop from $2297 back down to $1000, then my Program needs to be re-evaluated and worked on... that is what i intend to do then..

i also want to do a few other things...

who knows, maybe things turn around for the better, im still in there swinging..

    Falcon, are you this dense?

You're overall bankroll has nothing to do with this thread or this project.  No one in here cares if you're reducing your wager amounts by a substantial amount or not at all in another thread or on another project.  All we care about is "$1000 to $100k".  You can win $50,000 in another project or lose $500,000, and it would not make a difference to this project.

What matters to us is this bankroll and this project.  You have seemingly connected this project to others, and this bankroll to your overall bankroll.  That connection should have never been made.

Why do we care that you've wrongly connected those dots?  Because if this project fails, many many tailers of you are going to lose not just 1% of their bankroll like you, but likely the whole thing.  Have you seen many people posting lately?  Like the Vietnam vet, the female, or some of the other obviously excited and anxious tailers that you've seen earlier?  No.  Do you know why?  Because they were likely playing with a $1000-$3000 bankroll and following your wagers to a T.  No, you didn't advise to do it that way.  But did you really expect people to listen to your every move?  How could they get to $100k without making the same wagers as you, starting this late in the thread?

You shamefully disgraced yourself in this thread.  The project would have made it to $100k if you just had half a brain.  MLB season would have increased our bankrolls by 10-fold.  But instead, you've now focused on the 10% project, and left this one behind completely because you saw a "lull" in the winnings.  That is despicable and I would advise you to no longer post picks on covers, if that is how you handle yourself with so many people following you're every move.

did i ever advise playing this with your entire bankroll.... from day 1, i said i am separating a small part of my bankroll, to try this... from post #1...

i dont see how this confused anyone...

i said countless times to play the plays with 1%-2% of your bankroll....

if all you had was a grand, you took a shot and guess what you still should have more than a grand today..

posters come and go, with the flavor of the month...

in 2011 this will not be a problem...
