He is trying to point out the value in RRL as well as the need to add a 'cap' to selections to increase 'edge'

I hope I'm on point s_N but that's how I interpret the RRL Dog Eff.

Here is how you use the last two columns. Let's take the first game listed, Mets/Cards. Mets are the dog so you look at the AS DOG column and we see -59, for Cards we look at AS FAV column and we see 13. Since the dog is negative and fave pos, this is a no play. We want the dog to be a positive number and the fave to be a negative number. There are no plays for the DOG EFF SCORE system today so I can't show you an example for a play.

The Colorado game is one I'll keep an eye on and refresh later to check odds. If they move from positive or even to - odds I'll remove them as a play.

are any of these rrl plays? Also my spreadsheet says play Sf not COL.

I do not post the rrl plays.

The line has been moving on the SF/Colo. right now neither is a play as both are -105. The final call will be closer to gametime.

Looking at today's sheet Clev is a dog at +17 and Phil is a fave at -40, triggering a play (and a winner!) for today. Nothing else matters for this system except those two columns.

All of the teams that qualify for any of the 4 systems is a SYSTEM PLAY . Full description here: https://www.betfirms.com/baseball-betting-systems-underdogs/

The DOG EFF system looks at those dogs that already qualify for a System Play as described above. The added filter is the two columns marked as Overall Dog Eff and Using Odds Dog Eff. If a qualifying system play has a score of .400 or better in BOTH columns then it is a DOG EFF system play. An example from today is Seattle, while SD would not qualify.

I hope that helps, if not, ask away.

why is Boston a play when they have .500 in overall and .000 in the using odds column. They both need to be over.400 as I understand it.

I ran the older version this morning. Seems to be a glitch with the new version. The Using Odds column is using the data from Opening line, not current line. Using the current line of 127, Boston would be .667 in that column. Since we can only bet current lines not opening lines, we should be using that info for the Using Odds column.

That is why you are seeing SF as a play because they opened as a dog.

Seattle also is not a play under current odds.

So for some reason the URL I was using to get the Sagarin rankings does not update as often as the one supplied in the thread - so I changed it.

Download V10 again - same link

The Colorado game is one I'll keep an eye on and refresh later to check odds. If they move from positive or even to - odds I'll remove them as a play.

FYI - V10 spreadsheet has SF as a System Play and DOG EFF play - however - that's because they opened as a DOG and currently are a FAV - if you can't get them as a DOG - I wouldn't play it.

Any way to change this so the spreadsheet will only mark teams that qualify under Current odds as plays? Opening odds are good for a reference but have no determination on if it's a play.

DJK,  s_N can correct me if needed but this is what I was getting at in post 278. I don't believe we have the means to determine RRL plays as this is a proprietary system of s_N's. That is why we only see the RRL's after the fact and why they are only posted by s_N.

    Thanks - DR

Fixed it V10 - same link - it determines plays off of the "CURRENT" odds but i do have the opening odds on the sheet as well.

The Current Odds are the VI Consensus odds from Vegas Insider - but i can easily change it to LVH, MGM, William Hill, Wynn LV, Ceasars / harrah's/ Rio, or Stations

Seems like the Consensus number is often quite different than what you can get at Stations or William Hill. If I had my choice I'd pick Stations because that's where I bet (I'm selfish like that), but using any I think is fine versus Consensus. Too bad Cantor is not available. Or is it?

Yes you need to be corrected, your assessment is an opinion, based  on not comprehending the objective of the thread. I'm tracking the Dog EFF that comes from the sheet, they are posted clearly before  the fact by Danrules, not me, I unified the RRL and value, I recommend before you make another post such as this, you back track, and read this thread from the beginning, and educate your self, and don't ever mention my screen name in a thread unless it's directed to me, what does DJK have to do with s_N and the RRL, and for that matter what credentials do you carry to make a judgement statement  like "I don't believe we have the means to determine the RRL plays" Hellooo! are sure your in the right thread? or just confused...these are the 'means' 20-3 all thread produced Dog EFF/RRL WINS and yes, I'm the one who post them, because I carry the credentials, have you ever capped a RRL game in your life? have you ever made a bet? are you old enough to bet? have you ever won? do you know how to manipulate sabermetrics? do you use the Base_Runs formula? or Run_Created? do you understand line movement? asian handicap odds connected to MLB wagering? all connected to the RRL I don't know who you mean in reference to "we"  the administrator of this thread and the innovator I believe to be DG the publisher to be Danrules, so tell me who are you and what is your contribution other then making whim commentary that has no value. to the thread, or the objective of 'tracking' the thread....

I am hoping I didn't offend you in any way. A lot of those questions I would answer no. I am willing to learn. Was I correct with Bos & SF as RRL plays today?

no, not at all; however, I believe your question should be directed to DG, and his RRL data thats clearly employed on the sheet, to give a % rating, if you have the sheet, and comprehend it, make the call  BOS?  SF?  what your asking  for are my RRL plays in a thread that I'm tracking, aka [posting 'picks''] I would say that would be in bad taste to the objective of the thread, and the dedication of those who contribute on a daily basis to fine tunning Dog EFF system. don't ever ask me again for plays in this thread, or any thread, unless I'm posting them in a system, on my own? in my own thread, not one I'm a contributor to. my best
