MLB system releases...
The system produced an Over play win in the WAS/PHI game; to answer your first question...
BR/RC should be looked at as a 'tool' and a base to pull your games from; then handicapping variables, and situational play go into effect....

SN - Looks like you had a nice day. I have been trying to work on something similar to your RL plays. Love the value in those plays and actually tailed all 3 of them today (not blindly) and as you did had a outstanding return. Just trying to decide what type of money management would workout best for this. Keep up the great work and always appreciate the post!!
Like cappin' your win...you also must capp your MM. which totally overpowers your winning % and provides 'insurance' when putting together a 'package' (four plays or more) The amount of unit$ wagered on each play is determined by the strength of the lean, and the value it possesses'....This is the concept behind the many MM formula's applied to MLB package play, with the core being the RL...a capper could go 3-4 (as I did a couple day's ago) and still come out with +2unit$...thus, a capper on the same Identical plays, with in-correct MM could go 4-3, and be -2unit$ by a blink..
The key ingredient to MM is the almighty Bankroll, with an improper BR, a capper is at a severe dis-advantage, regardless of how successful his form is initiated..How does one acquire a BR, to begin correct MM? Can it be done through sports wagering? Are their any formula's attached to the BR syndrome? What's the ideology behind a sports wagering/investment BR?

I have my own Data source, created by downloading EliasSportsBureau.com from 1989 to the present 09' season, all at bats, all pitches thrown, everything...i then incorporated it with the Base_Runs formula, and data...the additional research sites are as follows:
Covers.com
vegasinsider.com
baseball-reference.com
CBSsportsline.com
tangotiger.com
direct data links to all 30 mlb teams(powered by the local newspapers' sports section)
EliasSportsBureau.com
just a few, of the many available...
The entire concept is based on the innovators, and their application of sabermetrics to MLB stats. The approach comes from Tom Tango, David Smyth, and Bill James...math guru's who breath, MLB stats, and the systems they generate..

I haven't added much to the thread, but here is something I have been working on. I will use this afternoon's game between the Yankees and Indians.
1st 5 inns:
Yankees RC (Game=6.3) divide by 9 and then multiply by 5 = 3.5 runs
Indians RC (Game 5.5) divided by 9 and then multiply by 5 = 3.06 runs
**I did look into the season stats and based off of AB, Outs and Games played, each team averages approximately 27 (+/- .05) outs per game. I realize some home teams winning may only have 24 outs in that particular game, but with the addition of extra inning games, it all averages to 27 outs for these particular teams.**
**this is the reason I chose to divide by 9.**
Yankees SP (BR=2.84) when figured into per inning and multiplied by 5, 2.82 runs
Indians SP (BR=2.94) when figured into per inning and multiplied by 5, 2.62 runs
Also, the same concept of career pitching numbers vs opp:
Yankees (RC=1.82)
Indians (RC=4.46)
I then average the two pitching numbers, then average that number by the opp teams RC.
Giving us:
Yankees = 3.52 per 5 innings
Indians = 2.69 runs per 5 innings
Total = 6.21 runs per 5 innings
Yankess 1st 5 innings -1/2 (EV)

It's just regular Excel 2007 file, so you need MS Office 2007
Cut and paste this link to get uzovka77's spread sheet .
I recommend you do the calculations by hand and compare to the excel sheet at first.....![]()
on the nightshift this week might not post to Thursday....

SN, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind elaborating on developing a sound money management strategy...i.e. % of bankroll risked per game and per day etc...I'm sure you can't teach someone the "feel" portion of it as far as what games to up the ante on that are stronger leans, but I'm also sure I speak for the rest of us in hoping you could lend some pointers as to what fundamentals should be established in creating a sound system...maybe also point us to any articles you may know that help???
Thanks in advance - love the analysis and thread!
