Hello Cover Friends,
The early success continues, and hopefully we can keep the momentum going! My son and I will be heading to the Cowboys game tomorrow, so I figured I'd get this post out of the way now. And NO, I will NOT be betting on the Cowboys! Let me enjoy the game with my son and hopefully watch them win a game they're supposed to win for once! LOL. When it comes to the NFL, I have my own rating system that I follow. I don't believe in forcing plays just to have action. I simply trust my system and take what the board gives me. But remember, nothing is ever guaranteed, especially in the NFL! That's one of the reasons I prefer college football. It's where I feel most comfortable and where I believe my strongest edge lies.
Anywho, enough talking. Let's cut to the chase!
Pitts -3 (should win by -6 points) (Huge Target)
The Browns took the first meeting against Pittsburgh in Week 4, winning 27–24. Since then, the Steelers have won three straight games, covering the spread in all three. I believe this Pittsburgh team is starting to find its rhythm on both sides of the football.
DEFENSE IS WHERE I SEE THE BIGGEST EDGE! Pittsburgh is allowing just 19.7 points per game, and over their last three contests, that number has dropped to 17. They've also been outstanding against the run, allowing only 62 rushing yards per game during that stretch.
What stands out to me is Pittsburgh's pass rush against Cleveland's offensive line. The Browns have allowed the most sacks in the NFL, which could create major problems for Deshaun Watson.
Offensively, Aaron Rodgers is becoming more comfortable, and Pittsburgh has scored at least 24 points in five of its last six games. Their improving rushing attack should also have opportunities against Cleveland's defense.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS: Cleveland won the first matchup, but I believe Pittsburgh is playing better football right now. With home-field advantage, a strong defense, and an offense gaining momentum, I like the Steelers to get their revenge.
Bills -3 (Should win by a -5 points) (small target)
WHY??
I have Buffalo as the better overall team on both sides of the football, and I believe Baltimore could have a tough time on the road in this matchup. Lamar Jackson is expected to return, but I'm not convinced he'll be anywhere near 100%, which could limit what makes him so dangerous.
Meanwhile, Buffalo is coming off a bye week, fully rested and with extra time to prepare. With Josh Allen leading the offense and the Bills having the home-field advantage, I see Buffalo having the upper hand in this one.
GIVE ME THE STEELERS AND BILLS!! DONT FORGET MY BEER PLEASE! ![]()
