Kreatture's 2010 NHL Playoff Strategy

I am pressed for time today, so this will not be as in-depth as I would like.. and I do not have time do finalize the spreadsheet right now.

Here is what I am doing for the 1st Round of the 2010 NHL Playoffs. Altho, other players will no doubt make more Units than I will here, I am not interested in capping individual games.. rather you cap the entire series. This is extremely safe, and will generate +Units when all is said and done, with no worries. This way, you will also be able to enjoy the games, without the added pressure of your "wager".

Simple common sense will tell you a team like Washington will not lose a series to a team like Montreal. It doesn't matter how much you may like to see that happen, the chances are one millionth of one percent.
Play your Unit size in accordance to your bankroll. Altho I do not expect to have to ever go to a Game 'C' in this 1st Round, you just never know.

This is the Playoffs, a short series - not the Regular Season.. therefore the straight martingale system is the best option. I do not recommend labouchere for this whatsoever..

Drink the juice in the heavy series like Washington, and just enjoy it. The Playoffs are the easiest time of year to make +Units, with virtually zero risk.

Sometimes.. the simplest strategy, is the best strategy. MoneyLines only.. I am not interested in playing PuckLines in the Playoffs.




WASHINGTON CAPITALS -- chase Caps to win on ML, until they have won series (4 Wins, +4Units)

NEW JERSEY DEVILS -- chase Devils to win on ML, until they have won series (4 Wins, +4Units)

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS -- chase Pens to win on ML, until they have won series (4 Wins, +4Units)

SAN JOSE SHARKS -- chase Sharks to win on ML, until they have 2 wins. Re-evaluate series once goal is met to see if further play can continue (2 Wins, +2Units)

CHICAGO HAWKS -- chase Hawks to win on ML, until they have 2 wins. Re-evaluate series once goal is met to see if further play can continue (2 Wins, +2Units)

DETROIT RED WINGS -- chase Wings to win on ML, until they have 2 wins. Re-evaluate series once goal is met to see if further play can continue (2 Wins, +2Units)

I like it .,except your gonna lose money on the Pittsburgh chase...Go Sens Go !!! .. ..

My homer opinions aside.. looks like u stand to make 24 units on the first round alone if all goes well .  ..don't see to many people making more than that.. thanks for sharing..

Chicago is going to win the cup so chase them to win 4 in every series.  Pretty simple really.

HaHa, yes.. I know it is only a $50 bonus, but really now, how many Sportsbooks give you any money back at all, just from playing with them? It's better than nothing, I suppose.

Wow.. very rough start! Quite an Opening night to the 2010 NHL Playoffs, that is for sure!

Never had the displeasure of watching any of the games tonight, but don't even think that I am one bit worried..

New Jersey and Pittsburgh WILL win their respective series.. and San Jose and Detroit will not be swept, so again, no worries.

The Strategy is sound, and we will be up at least +18 Units when it is all said and done.

Would be extremely shocking if this came true.. This is not a good Stanley Cup winning pick.

Altho I expect them to slip past a very good, under-rated Nashville squad.. would not be totally shocked if the Preds won. I have the Wings knocking them out in the 2nd Round.. we'll see what happens!

Hawks are my 2nd fav. team in the West, so I wish them well!

I am playing Washington to win 2 Units per game, the entire Series. I meant to post this earlier today, but I was unable. This has nothing to do with the results from last night. This is the best bet of the 1st Round. You could even play Capitals -1.5 the whole Series, but that is not my choice.

Hey, gl on your strategy....have you thought about parlaying games on the same day. Just some food for thought.

At hefty juice, you'll often need to win multiple games to win any money, so parlaying 2 games together and wagering less, could get you around the same result. Haven't thought about it much, but just a suggestion.

I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew here.  I am running a 2 line labby.  I hope the home teams turn it around.  I dont have the guts that I used to have.  Now I get nervous when I get a little pressure on my bankroll.  I dont know a whole lot about hockey.  I hope what has happened to this point is an extreme oddity.  Im gonna roll with it though!!!  Lets get em Kreature!!!

This is an insane start for these teams.. too bad none of them will win their series.

84% of public on Caps.. Vegas liked Montreal to get Game 1. Afraid juice will be like -350 in Game 2.. Would have been nice to get just 1 win, instead of an 0-5 start for Game 1's, LoL

Parleying takes value away here.. Strategy is simple, and will be +18Units or more at end of Round 1. That is enough for me.

Parleying a lot of Game 2's tomorrow will be profitable. Maybe a Parley on the side.

Play within your means.

You have to play within the means of your bankroll.

Will be surprised if all 5 Series are not tied after Game 2. 

Im within my roll, but the discomfort comes more from not knowing hockey therefore not exactly confident in whats going on.  The roll is working hard because im working from 3 to 5 systems at any givin time.  Sometimes all the action puts pressure on it.  Keep in mind K, what stresses me out prolly wouldnt faze most people on here.  Im ultra conservative.

It the year for the underdog, just look at the NCAA tournament and all the upsets, same will happen in NHL.

Whats the relation between NCAA and NHL.. Come on...

Anyway, this definatly sucks ATM but like kreatture I am confident it will turn around... The juices are high so be carefull.

Probably should have started these at 1/2 units considering the high juice... but then again most of us have chased PL+1.5 @ -300+

I will quote this once again, when Montreal, Philadelphia, Ottawa, & Colorado all lose their Opening Round Series.
