I haven't been lighting it up lately.  But I haven't been losing my ass either.  I just now put 1.375u on the over 188 for the Memphis/NJ game.  I put another unit on the Gators for tomorrow.  It seems like everyone is on them.  I think the game is a coin flip myself, but something tells me to listen to everyone.  It's a hunch.  This time I'm giving 4.5 though.  Gotta go.

         PuckHog...

I dont know if I made my point clearly with that last post of mine.  I should have stated that you want to change your units to 1/35 or 1/40 as soon as you can.  You can do 1/20 (and I did for 10 levels), but it's so much easier the more units you have.  It takes you a little longer, but your chances of succeeding increase.  A unit that is 5% of your bankroll is a big unit.  You lose three "one unit bets" and 15%  of your bankroll is gone.

I've skimmed through the thread and I still don't understand what the "system" is.

You say you "can" bet a certain unit if you lose, but you never spell it out. How do you determine what to bet after a loss. If you are increasing the units you bet, How can this not be considered a progression system?

I dont have a set system when it comes to what amount of units you wager.  In that respect, it's not a system with true rigidity.  You really have to bet the amount that you feel is the right amount for the situation.  One thing that you need to do is you need to keep track of your progress.  I used to document every single bet I made.  I dont anymore.  But you need to be aware of where you are and what kind of pace you're on.  It shouldn't take you any longer than a week or two to complete a level.  But if you take three weeks to complete a level, that's OK too.  There's no rush here.  If I take three weeks to complete every level for the next 10 levels, I'll bring my bankroll to $6600.00 in just 30 weeks.  And I started with about $750.  If you're using smaller units, then it will take you a little longer.  But when you lose, it's not as detrimental.  On the other hand, when you win, you dont gain as much.  Just for an example, I'll pull up some of my records from a couple years ago to show you what I did, and how many units I would play on each wager... after a win and after a loss.

If you noticed I actually broke down not only what my unit would be for that level, but what 1.375 units would be.  And what 1.625 units would be.  For this level my one unit wager was 1.95.  My wager amount for a 1.625 unit bet was 3.17.  I dont think all that is necessary.  I may have been getting a little ridiculous there.  But I still bet in 1/8 units sometimes.  Yesterday I placed two wagers for 1.375 units.  I just thought 1.25u was not quite enough and 1.5u was a little too much.  So I went with 1.375.

I do think it is a good idea to go with a 1.5 unit bet after a one unit loss.  Sometimes I go 1.625u.  Sometimes I just bet another unit again.  It really all depends.

Tomorrow I will place one wager for about $11.  That will get me goal if I win it.  That's all I need to wager.  That's all that matters.  Get that goal.  Get to $1,110.48.  Get to level 18!

I've got the Miami Heat tonight for $10.60.  I'm giving 3 and I got it at -105.  I didn't figure this to the penny.  I'm too tired.  But that will get me my goal.
I'm going to Pittsburgh tomorrow for the Steelers game (we're spending the night and going to the game Sunday ) so I'll see everyone Monday.  I hope everyone has a profitable weekend!

His plays actually had you buying some points, but I'm not going to do that.  My goal is 888.38 and my bank before placing these was at 744.38.  I've changed my units and they are now 1/35 of my bankroll (that's based on a bankroll of 710.70, my previous goal).  I may pick a side on that NCAAF play but haven't decided yet.  To this point I've accomplished 19% of my goal.  I'll be fine if I reach that in a couple weeks.  That means I just need to get the other 81% in the next 14 days or so.  My amount needed now is 144.00 to get that goal of 888.38.  I need to average 10.29 per day to get it.  I know it's a lot of numbers.  But it's nice to know exactly where I'm at.

I just added NBA Phi +7 at -105 for .5u.  Diamondjake... this is not a chase system.  Read my posts.  The reason I think this can work (aside from the fact that I was successful at it for 4-5 months last year) is because it almost forces you into money management.  And it uses goal setting.  Those, I think, are both key if you're gonna get anywhere in this business.

    .
BOL you say this is not a chase system but any time you increase your bankroll after a loss their is a possibility sooner or later the unthinkable will happen. You will lose ten or eleven in a row. At some point your bankroll will get smoked. Its the reason vegas does not ban the Martingale system. Sooner or later you reach the table max and then its all over.

Hopefully people will reread this post. This actually spells out the stupidity of what you are doing. You can win for a long time but eventually will be wiped out. Everyone has lost 10 games in a row or more that has been doing this long enough. It happens. Quit now and take your profits.....or eventually your post will just stop and we will know what happened. Also posting your plays prior to the START of the games would give you some credability.

Steel, how about it? Post your plays daily so we can witness what happens. No offense I just hate fellow players losing money on one of the oldest systems ever. Do some research this is a modified martingale system destined to loose. I want you to post daily so people can see this flame out. The way you hop in and out of here proves nothing. Im not a hater but too many young inexperienced players will follow this and get smoked. Guys Google Martingale System!! This isnt doubling up but it is increasing. Think about it, Warran Buffet walks into a Casino and bets red every time and then doubles up or does what Steel does. He cannot loose because he has billions of dollars and he will win eventually even if its the 13th time or the 20th etc....right?? Wrong, vegas has table maxs even for high rollers because they like your book maker are aware of this angle. As soon as you reach table max and loose it is decided. You Bank roll is smoked. Take 10 or 20 dollars and double it every time. Shocking how fast it adds up.

I'm betting on everything.  Here's another beautiful thing about this system.  I dont have to be very good at betting.  If I lose a 1 unit bet one I can come back with a unit and a quarter or a unit and a half.  If I lose that I can come back with a 3 unit wager.  If I lose that I can come back with a 7 unit wager.  Obviously if I lose 7 or 8 wagers in a row it's going to put a damper on my progress.  If I'm at level 20 and I have to go back to level 17, so be it.  If this happens too often, of course then the system just isn't any good as you'll never get anywhere.  However, if you can consistently hit atleast 40% of your wagers, this system is fail proof.  Literally fail proof.

I dont always chase and it's my fault that I posted the above when I shouldn't have.  The above in red is not part of my system.  I have lost 10 wagers in a row before.  I know this happens.  This "system" I have is nothing more than a "money management and goal" system.  I posted it because it's an angle I have used before to some extent.  That's all.
As far as posting my plays... I dont have time to do this and I'm not trying to prove anything.  I'm just using this board pretty much as a journal.  You can read and post, or ignore the entire thread.  I dont really care what you choose to do.  I'm not on this thread claiming a record of 30-3 in my L33 or something stupid like that.  Sometimes I will post my plays and sometimes I wont.
The only thing I'm saying is that I really believe you need money management and goals to succeed in this business.  And this is one way of approaching it.  It has nothing to do with doubling up or chasing.  You need to choose your plays carefully, and this system actually helps you do that.  Discipline is huge in this business.
Forget that I posted that stuff about chasing.  I should have never posted that and I apologize.  That's not what this system is about.  It's about using units and goals and setting the foundation for a money management system to achieve long term goals.

Steel, I think its a very intriguing system of disipline and money management.  I've been betting on sports for about 10 years now.  I consider myself an absolute degenerate.  I have no money management skills and I'm constantly chasing  my money and that "feeling".  I've never really kept track, I'm glad I haven't, as I'm sure I'm down multiple thousands.

Now my average play is $110.  I've bet as much as $1000...3 times actually, loosing 2 of them.  Mostly cuz I'm pissed and chasing.
Anyway, I put $20 into my beted account and decided to religiously follow your system.  LoL,let me tell you, I've never been so excited to win $1.00.  Its getting to that level thats exciting.

Who knows if it will work or if I can hold on to the discipline to keep it working.   With your permission I would love to start posting my plays and progress from a $20 start.  Of course I'd reference it under your name.

Regardless thanks for posting your ideas.

    Steel,
I started last night with 200.00 in my bet365 acct instead of 100.00 and set my per unit bet at 4.00 or 2% and my 1st target is 250.00.
I bet 1 unit on LA Kings at home last night so I'm 0-1,but relaxed knowing how much I will bet each time and what my next target is before I can increase my unit size.If I drop back to 150.00 I will decrease my unit size to 3.00.I understand this is a learning process for me,but atleast you have given me a money management plan to follow and  I am not betting wildy with my small bankroll.
Let you no my progress as I attempt to get to my 1st level.

    Thanks,again.....

It is crazy isn't it?  To get excited over a win of $1.00 or $12.79... but that's one thing that makes this system work I think.  You can feel that you're on the way to much bigger things.  I was glad to read your post.  Hell yeah you can start posting your plays.  I wish you the best of luck.

I was betting literally 3 to 6 thousand a week there for a while, but I wasn't getting anywhere.  The rush was cool as all get out, but in all reality, I'm not in this for the rush.  I want to make money.

Make sure you keep me posted.

Good luck.  Keep me posted.  This business is difficult because it can be addictive.  Betting that is.  And discipline is so hard to establish and keep in the long run.  I think if you can learn it and then keep it, you increase your chance of succeeding ten fold.
