One day about a year ago I figured I would start with $20 and see how far I could build that up.  But I knew I needed a system.  And on top of that I knew I would have to stick to it.  I was using a book that allowed me to make $1 bets.  So I started with one dollar bets and my goal was to increase my bank roll by just 25%.  That would bring my bank roll to $25.  I did that.  Then it was on to stage 2.  My goal then was to increase that ($25) by 25%.  That would bring my bankroll to $31.25.  I did that.
It was actually February the 27th when I started thinking about this and laying the groundwork.  I figured that my unit would be 5% of my bankroll.  So when I reached $31.25 my actual unit would be $1.56.  My new goal was $39.06.  This means that I needed just $7.81 to reach my new goal.  When I win a wager at -110 I would net, at this point, $1.42.  That's actually 18% of my goal.  This is actually a very simple system.  You keep your units at 1/20 of your bank roll.  That's actually pretty agressive, so you could customize it and make your units to be 2% of your bankroll, or whatever you prefer.  And all you care about is your short term goal.  And that is to increase your bankroll by 25%.
I figured this:  If you can take $100 and turn it into $125, it wouldn't be any more difficult to turn $1,000 into $1,250.  Your increase amount is still just 25%.  You can take a week to do this.  Or a month.  You would be amazed what kind of money you will turn your bank into in just 24 months if you increase your bank by 25% just once a month.  Look at these figures...

Month 1:  Take $20 and increase it by 25%.  Turn it into $25.
Month 2:  Take $25 and increase it by 25%.  Turn it into $31.25
Month 3:  Take $31.25 and increase it by 25%.  Turn it into $39.06

You get the picture.  With discipline this can be done.  I did it and it was only taking me 3 to 10 days to increase my bankroll by 25%.

By level 20 you will have $1,735.13 and your goal will be $2,168.91.  Let's move forward...

By level 30 you will have $16,159.68 and your goal will be $20,199.60.  At this point you can just bank that 25% that earned ($4,039.92) and start over at $16,159.68.  You will be earning $4,039.92 every 3 to 10 days.  It's the power of multiplication.  Turning $16,159 into $20,199 will be no more difficult than it was to turn $100 into $125.  It's all just a 25% increase.  Sounds easy right?  So why couldn't I do it?  I got sloppy and started betting too many games.  I made it to level 10 and faltered there.  But I did it 10 times.  If I hadn't gotten sloppy and used discipline, I could have gone further.
So I'm gonna try this again.  Right now my bankroll is right around $719.  So I'm already at level 16.  This is after I've deposited more money.  I made it to probably July of '07 with this and aborted it.  This is the first time I've attempted this again.  My goal is $888.38.  That's all I care about.  If I'm at $881.38 I will make a bet just to put me at $888.38.  That's all that matters.  Once I get there my goal will be $1,110.48.  I've got to go to pick up my fiancee.  I'll be back later.

Let me say this before anyone gets the wrong idea.  I'm sure I'm not the first to try something like this.  There may have been 300,000 people that have tried this and failed.  I dont know.  But who cares...
In literally 14 levels I will be at level 30.  Keep in mind the last time I tried this I was completing a level every 3-10 days.  If I take 15 days to complete each level I will be at level 30 in 8 months.  I will have $16,159 in my bankroll.  But I failed the first time, so I cant assume that I wont fail again.  The thing is, I turned $20 into over $200.  That in and of itself is a huge accomplishment.  I accomplished my goal 10 times.  If I hadn't gotten sloppy, how far could I have gone?  I'm gonna find out.  My units now are actually 1/40 of my bankroll though.  So my units now are $17.89.  It's a more conservative approach, so it will take me longer to complete a level.  I have to go to bed.  See ya later.

I'm betting on everything.  Here's another beautiful thing about this system.  I dont have to be very good at betting.  If I lose a 1 unit bet one I can come back with a unit and a quarter or a unit and a half.  If I lose that I can come back with a 3 unit wager.  If I lose that I can come back with a 7 unit wager.  Obviously if I lose 7 or 8 wagers in a row it's going to put a damper on my progress.  If I'm at level 20 and I have to go back to level 17, so be it.  If this happens too often, of course then the system just isn't any good as you'll never get anywhere.  However, if you can consistently hit atleast 40% of your wagers, this system is fail proof.  Literally fail proof.

I can't really see what you are on to...
Everyone is trying to increase their bankroll slowly and any smart sports investor knows that this is not a get rich quick scheme and that you must have short term goals.

Any progression system is a recipe for disaster.
My longest winning streak was 12 and my longest losing streak was about the same, so if you keep raising your bets until you make a profit guess what, you are broke before then.

Another thing, I think that playing with 1$ bets is something but when you start increasing your bankroll you might as well feel a little bit too nervous about your picks and as an example, if you lose 6 in a row I am not so sure you are going to slam 12 units on your 7th pick.

That's just my advice, however, I wish you luck and happy holidays.

This isn't a chase system.  Or a progression system as you so put it.  My fault if I led you to think that.  It's merely a system that uses goals and units.  I would explain further but I cant right now.  I'll join later.

    Here's my story...

I started with 15k bankroll...I made 15k a month for 3 months straight. I was betting 1 unit (1k) each game following one of the experts on covers.
So now my bankroll was about 60k... I started fooling around with the chase system... I was betting 2k per game...and if i lost twice then betting 8k per game was normal.
Needless to say.. I lost all my 60k..put in another 60 more and lost all that all within 2 and a half months.

Money management is more important than capping skills...Just remember that

Wow!  I know that money management is more important than anything.  That's a sad story though.  Losing 120K and all.  The other thing I like about this system (and I worked it for 4 to 5 months last year) is that it forced me to use good money management.  I did get sloppy later on, but I did use great money management skills for a while.  Now I know that you really cant afford to do that.  Because if you do, the odds are, you'll lose.  As a matter of fact, that's the sole reason why this system worked for me for as long as it did.  I USED GOOD MONEY MANAGEMENT SKILLS.  It all fell apart when I stopped doing that.
Well I gained 1.36u tonight with Notre Dame.  That's awesome.  I'm gonna take Christmas off more than likely.  Although I may bet the Cavs.  We'll see.  I do want to reiterate that this is not a chase system.  I do not rely on chases for this system to work.  I rely on unit wagering, money management, and discipline.  Those really are the three main components of this system.  I seriously believe that with those three in constant practice, I (or anyone) could make this work.
That's enough for now.  It's Christmas, and I know of a lovely lady that needs some entertainment right now.

Merry Christmas to all of you!  See ya soon.

Chase systems are for losers. You have to have money Management but nothing will help you if you are a losing player. Go play your system on a Roulette table and same thing will happen. Eventually you loose enough where you reach the table max and then it will be all over same as with a book.

So I'm following puck's plays today and putting .5u on these four...

    NBA NO -2.5 -105
NBA Bos -10.5 -105 (my play)
    NCAAF Fla Atl/Cent Mich u70.5
    NHL Tam ML +140

His plays actually had you buying some points, but I'm not going to do that.  My goal is 888.38 and my bank before placing these was at 744.38.  I've changed my units and they are now 1/35 of my bankroll (that's based on a bankroll of 710.70, my previous goal).  I may pick a side on that NCAAF play but haven't decided yet.  To this point I've accomplished 19% of my goal.  I'll be fine if I reach that in a couple weeks.  That means I just need to get the other 81% in the next 14 days or so.  My amount needed now is 144.00 to get that goal of 888.38.  I need to average 10.29 per day to get it.  I know it's a lot of numbers.  But it's nice to know exactly where I'm at.

I just added NBA Phi +7 at -105 for .5u.  Diamondjake... this is not a chase system.  Read my posts.  The reason I think this can work (aside from the fact that I was successful at it for 4-5 months last year) is because it almost forces you into money management.  And it uses goal setting.  Those, I think, are both key if you're gonna get anywhere in this business.

Six plays is too many for my taste but... oh well.  I'll limit it tomorrow.

People always think that they way to build a bankroll is to bet progressively, they are wrong! The only way to survive in this game is to be disciplined, and be selective. Only play an average of 2 games per night, or 20 games per month!

I have seen my friends and family say the have this system that has worked for 3 weeks! Are you kidding???? I told them to come see me in 5 years and tell me their system is working. Then, I want them to prove their system with past performance's. I have been around this game for 13 years. I have crunched numbers for over 4 hours every night for 10 years. I have seen it all!

Their is about 25 people in this world who have mastered handicapping sports. If you want to call your self a Pro Handicapper, you need to have the following credentials...

8 years of monitored +10 units earned per year! I don't care if you only play 10 games each year, if you can prove at least 8 consecutive years of +10 units or better, then you are a professional handicapper, and that is only if you have the discipline to only play 10 games a year, which next to nobody does!

If you look at everyone on wagerline, you will see that their O/U average is better than than their side wagers. Does anyone here know why that is???? This is because most people only play O/U 25% of the time. So the more selections a person plays, the less percentage of wins they will receive (this includes units earned). If you don't believe me, go look it up!

I don't mean to go on a tangent! I'm just sick and tired of people posting a system that works part time! Find a system that can be monitored, proven for over 5 years, then you will get my respect. Not only will you get my respect, you will get my money! I will give you 30% of my earnings!

I hope I can get somebody to prove me wrong! I will pay for a proven system!

I have seven games on the board today...

    NCAAF Cal -10
    WV -2 -115
    Wisc/Fla St U52.5

    NBA Orlando -9.5
    Charlotte -3
    OKC/Wash O196.5
    Atl/Chi O194

All plays are for one unit.  I should have went with .5u on each play, but I feel lucky today.  Wish me luck with my part time system eagleshot!  If I get to level 30 I will email you my entire collection of daily logs that I have stored in my email.  You can then read them and maybe it will explain better what I'm doing here.

I actually split yesterday as I added the under in the Cal game.  So I lost juice.  Hopefully today will bring better things.  Here's what I have today...

    NBA Bos -12 (.5u)
            Cle -11 (.5u)
            NO/Ind o194.5
    NFL  Pit/Cle o34
            Det/GB o42.5
            Cin -3 +100

All plays are for one unit unless otherwise noted.  I got all plays at -110 except for the Bengals play.
I'm no longer going to post my plays every day in this thread.  In one week I will update how I've done in the past 7 days and if nothing else I can produce bet records if anyone so requests.  But I doubt anyone will care that much.  I'll post the results of today and then I'll see ya in a week.  Good luck to all today!

I'm not doing too bad here... I have not reached my goal yet, however I'm not that far away (I need about $126).  I've been betting NCAAB totals lately and have been doing very well.
I will update in another 3 to 4 days.  This thread may be a long one, but I assure you it is not my goal to create a long thread.  My goal is to make my system work, and if it helps one person, then I'll be happy for that.
One thing is for sure.  If I try this again and fail again, I'll probably stop gambling all together.  I'm sick of spinning my wheels and getting nowhere.
Right now I'm looking at it like this:  By March 31 I expect to have 21 levels completed.  I'm on level 16 now.  That will put my bankroll at $2,711.14.  But right now all I care about is completing level 16.  And I hope to do that in the next week.  Stay tuned.  Or dont.

Best of luck to everyone this bowl season.  Go Gators and Longhorns!

Tonight I looked at every team in the NBA, and if they were on an under streak of 4 or more, I bet the over in their game.  And I did the same thing with teams on an over streak (I bet the under).  I don't always do this, but I went 6-2 tonight, and the other night I went 2-0 doing that.  I gotta go... be back later.

OK... I had a good night netting $46.00 tonight (I went 9-6 overall).  Yeah I know... woohoo!  Forty six dollars!  But that's 2.26u I netted.  That's a good night as you all know.  I'm now roughly $80 from my goal, or about 4u (my units are $20.31).
So tomorrow we'll see what happens.  I'll probably lose 4 units.

Today is the 2nd so I hope to reach my goal by the 10th.  Good luck to all tomorrow.  I'll post whether I win or lose.  See you later!
