there is absolutely no way you will win every month. no way. you have to bet ready to lose 75% of your roll too.

try this: i bet 2% of my roll on evry game. when i really like a side ( like  Utah +9.5 last night) I bet 10% of my roll. I wait for really strong plays for a 10% play, otherwise its 2% and enjoy the game.

A 55% winning record doubles your money over approx 1000 games at 2%. I throw in the 10s to speed things along.

     Right now I'm betting 2.857% (1/35) of my bankroll on most bets.  That's what my unit is.  I'll never drop 10 units on a wager.  I dont have the balls  to do that. 
     I dont plan on winning every month anyways.  If you can win atleast 8 months out of the year though, you're golden.  Depending of course how much you net in those 8 months, and how much you lose in the other four.
     I have no idea now what I'm wagering on today.  When I know I'll post it.
 
These numbers represent the goals at each level.  Right now my goal is $888.38 and when I reach that, my next goal will be to increase that by 25%, which is $1,110.48

I'm on level 16 now (getting from 710.70 to 888.38).  Even if it takes me a year to complete 12 levels, my roll will be at nearly $13,000.00 and my units will be $369 and change.

     Right now I have one unit on the Bolts today @ +1.5 and two units on NCAAB Hou/MissSt over 141.

     I had an outstanding night and reached my goal and then some.  My new goal is $1,110.48 and my new unit is $25.38 (that is 1/35 of $888.38, which is the goal I just achieved).  I am exactly $163.11 from my new goal right now.  I have two bets pending, both I got at -105.  I have Texas and Fla in the big bowl games.  The lines I got are -8.5 (Texas) and -3 (Fla).  Both are for $35.78.  I placed those wagers on 12-26-08... If I hit on both of those I'll be about $23 from my goal!  Awesome!  I may hedge on one of those.  We'll see.  I gotta go.  My lady needs some attention!  I'll be back in a day or two. 
     Good luck to all tomorrow!  I love NFL playoffs and I'm going to see my boys in the 'Burgh next weekend!

I'm laying low today.  If I've learned one thing about sports wagering, it's that it's so easy to lose your winnings the very next day. 
 
I have one unit on the Detroit Pistons today.  They are giving 6.5.

These numbers represent the different levels of the system.  In level 1, you take your bankroll from $25 to $31.25.  In level 2, you take your bankroll from $31.25 to $39.06.  And so on.  I'm now on level 17.  As mentioned before, this is my second attempt at this.  I made it to level 10 the first time and screwed up, got careless.  Bet on too many games.  That was almost 2 yrs ago.  I just started back up again and started at level 16.

Once I get to level 33, I start banking the cash.  And I go back to level 32 and make another $6,000.00 or so and withdraw that.  The objective is to be able to withdraw four to six thousand every 7 to 14 days.  Two years ago I completed 10 levels.  Now I'm trying to go from level 16 to level 33.  That's just 17 levels.  I think it can be done.

ok steel cash lets get this right see your first starting out you bet $ 25 on your pistons and they lose so you bet $31.25 the next time on the next bet?
please clarify i don't follow you or do you bet $25 on other games until you make a profit?

Tonight I'm going with the Pacers +9.5.  I'm also going over 52.5 in the Fiesta Bowl.  One unit each @ -110.  That's all folks!

Right now my roll is at $969.69.  I actually hedged the Texas bet with an OSU bet.  I'm having second thoughts.  And no I dont make a habit of this.

     Let me reiterate what I'm doing here (I have nothing else to do at the moment). 
 
     All I'm doing is using units and short term goals to achieve a long term goal in the end.  And if you're one of those guys that is just betting and spinning your wheels, I suggest you consider this.  I tried this two years ago and it worked.  Until I got careless.  Why did I?  I dont know.  Lack of discipline I guess.  I've learned though.  And I'm wiser for it.  This system all but forces you good money management, and that's why it worked for me.  At the same time, you cant lose site of that.  I did.  If I do again, I'll probably stop gambling.
     If I can increase my bankroll by 25% every two to three weeks, that's all I'm after.  If you can do that, there's no limit to how much you can make.  Can you turn $1,000 into $1,250.00?  Could you turn $5,000 into $6,250?  It doesn't sound that hard does it?   It's not.  But it's next to impossible if you're not careful.  This system just helps you be more careful.  I dont bet for entertainment or because I want to "catch up" after a bad weekend.

I try to stick to the 2% rule. I started last month (reload after getting killed by NFL) with $2500, which makes my base unit $50. I bet the 50 on almost every game except really strong plays where i bet 10% ( would be 250) right now my roll is at approx. $5710. My goal is to double the roll every 3 months, so i got to 5000 in one so i'm off to a good start. like you said i'm hoping to make a bundle over the long run.

mo. 1- 2500
mo. 2 -5000
mo.5- 10,000
mo. 8- 20,000
mo.11- 40,000
mo. 14- 80,000
mo. 17- 160,000
mo. 20- 320,000
mo.24- 640,000

i think its pretty realistic. i usually pick about 55% and i have a good record on big games. this is my plan/obsession.

ok so steel cash i find this very interesting so for kicks and giggles I start with $25 so each bet i would play $1
so you would have to win 5 in a row to get ahead ?
i guess that would work, i mean flipping a quarter could get ya that, the biggest thing is to get ove r50%.
Please explain i find this very intriquing.

     You don't have to win five in a row.  If you lose your first bet, you can bet 1.25 units or 1.5 units.  If you lose that you can bet 2 units or 2.5 units.  You really have to play around with it to get a feel.  If you think you can hit anywhere from 58% to 62% of your plays, just stick with 1 unit plays.  You'll eventually make it to $25.  Then your new goal is $31.25.  Then you just do it again.

     One thing to keep in mind is that hitting your goal is the most important thing.  So if you're say $1.28 from your goal, you may want to make your next bet for $1.41 (this will win you $1.28 if you get -110 odds).  Simply take your number that you need (1.28) and multiply it by 1.101.  That gives you the amount you need to put up with -110 odds.  Once you hit your goal, then you can up your unit amount.

Here's what I have tonight...

Mem/Min over 195.5... NY/OKC over 215... LAC/Dal under 184.5

And Tulsa -2.  All are for 1u @ -110.

  I like it.  It's a very agressive approach.  Keep me posted on how you do.  It actually is an obsession with me.  I prefer to say it's a passion... Maybe I'm going through a phase.  Whatever.  I'm just hoping it becomes profitable.  And if it doesn't, I'll learn from it.  There are people making alot of money betting sports.  Who's to say we can't?

AGGRESSIVE.  I knew that didn't look right when I looked at it.  I need a good night as I lost 2u last night.  I'm glad I hedged my Texas bet.  I guess you could say I gained 1.5u by doing that, depending on how you look at it...

Steel......This sounds like a good way to control your wagers and by having targets you can feel an accomplishment along the way.I am going to try your system starting with 100.00. So my levels would be...
 
              100  125  156.25  195.31  244.14  305.18 381.48 476.85 and so on.  level 10 would be 745.11      level 20  6939.50   etc.etc.....
 
Does that look right to you?I would like to bet 5.00 per bet 1/20 at level 1,but as you go up levels do you change your % bet?
Also would like to use a few 2 and 3 team parlays when I feel its right,do you think that would be OK ?

     You could change your % bet as you make more, and you really should.  You'll need to make that smaller.  As you build your bankroll, you can get more conservative.  For example, if your bankroll is at $10,000, you should change it from 1/20 to 1/35 or 1/40.  You'll have more units (you'll have 35 or 40) and your unit amount will be $285.71/$250.00... Ideally you should have 50-100 units.  I'm just doing 35 now.
