Y'all better put the spurs to this filly (pick) quick because I have a feeling she'll leavin' the ranch (the board) soon.  ST. LOUIS CARDINALS -124   BOLA 25 Dimers!!!
I check the score and it figures 3-0 KC. Since raider3475 posted lower odds something had to be and was fishy with this game. Cardinals -124=yet another loss which puts me back at .500 again all time.

MY YANKEES a -200 closing favorite (as low as -165 and as high as -203) lost 2-1 to the Crosstown Rival Mets in the 1st game of the subway series. There was some foul luck when Mark Teixeira was up. In two of his plate appearances he hit deep balls one for a home run and one foul (eventual strikeout). One of those at bats was with 2 on and the other was with the bases empty. Guess which AB had which result? Yep I know that this game was not on survivor and it was luck but as a Yankee fan I don't like losing subway series games to the Mets period.

When I first started picking games on here, I would look at the consensus experts and top 10% picks everyday. For the duration of my experiment, I found that they would win about half of the time across all games. When a high (75-100%) percentage of the experts are on the same result, however, that win percentage would probably be profitable. The problem is trying to find out when the experts reads are correct and when they are being misled. In my opinion, it can be a useful tool, but it is certainly not foolproof. I believe that we should research every pick thoroughly by reading previews, pouring over recent relevant statistics, looking at paid expert capper picks on free forums, and only using the expert picks as a supplemental tool to get a read as to how the top covers cappers are feeling about the games. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. Good luck to you, whit2121 and thanks for posting. We hope you come back again to chew the fat and offer your insight.

That sucks! I am sorry for leading us and all of our horses over a cliff, this evening. I don't know what went wrong, but these interleague matchups  are hard to predict. I mean, not only did the Cards lose, but also the Tigers (my second fave today), the Yankees, and the Blue Jays! Heck, even the White Sox are losing to the Dodgers (thiose bums)! My apologies to Quad, Smooth, Raider, and all of the other 25 Dimers whose horses now lie with broken legs because of the STL. Hopefully we'll have better luck tomorrow! There is no smiley icon for a broke-legged horse so here's a shamrock:

I accept your apology but it is far from necessary with all the logical MLB picks losing, this is baseball being it's super unpredictable self. From the Giants/Dodgers Under, Dodgers and now Cardinals.... the list goes on and on and you pretty much covered the rest of it. In fact the most predictable pick tonight that involved a game with a bat and ball was Kentucky over Notre Dame in women's softball with Chanda Bell on the mound.

Oh and the Dodgers are Bipolar, they were coming in to Chicago off back to back losses to the Giants and 5 losses in the last 6 while the White Sox had swept a 2 game series with the red hot Indians and the Dodgers have the nerve to win let alone coming from behind after 8? As for the other team in the Anaheim/LA area the Angels can be called Bipolar too. They had 4 straight pitiful performances against the A's and Mariners nearly dead offense in the last 3 and they have the nerve to come alive with 9 runs.... did I just say NINE runs against the Braves? I guess after the Lakers meltdown the Angels and Dodgers have followed suit in torturing the us when we pick them and actually winning when picked against or plainly expected to lose!

Taking the under (9.5) in the Cards/Royals game for W2.  That just doesn't "feel" like a high scoring game to me....GL

Ditto here Quad! The Mets should be and always have been an afterthought. Somebody you keep in the basement and rarely refer to them...thats the Mets.. The Mets are our personal punching bag.

No need to apologize Bama! Look at my "bank it" pick earlier this week. Shit happens. Besides I leaning towards this game anyways. I started to take the over with Det-Pitt on a hunch but the numbers didn't make sense so I went with St.Louis. As we know now those numbers in Pitt didn't need to make sense they went over anyways just like I thought. This game is 60% skill and 40% IMO. We can do all the research we want and like Quad says sometimes the logical conclusion doesn't fall our way. Sometime we have to look inside the numbers to get an edge. But  here's the good news. We get to start another streak and get riding again.

I completely agree with you, Quad. Baseball is being super unpredictable this season, as you said. Lol @ the ND Lady Irish Softball pick being the safest one yesterday. This is sad , but true. They really have their act together and can be counted on; unlike their professional men's counterparts. Certain teams, like the LA teams you mentioned as well as others like the Mariners, are performing exactly opposite of the way that we expect.  This makes it an adventure to find winners on a daily basis. LOL @ your combination of these two emoticons :

That is so funny! I very nearly went back there myself. Our minds were on the same track, but I figured the Marshals would be closing in and decided to get the heck out of Dodge. That Westbrook fella scares the hell out of me! Good luck, Smooth!  BTW, what exactly is that young lady doing to that mascot?  Oh the scandal! Good luck to you.

Well, yesterday wasn't a total loss: Ryan Braun extended my BTS streak to 13 with a 1 for 5 night at the plate. I am going for #14 with Miguel Cabrera today. For my Streak Survivor play, I went with Seattle. They defeated San Diego last night 4-1 and I see no reason that they can't do it again with Michael Pineda (5-2, 2.45 ERA) dueling against Clayton Richard (2-4, 4.79). Just a hunch: SEATTLE MARINERS -123

A bit weird? Well that symbolizes how weird the baseball results have been going. It probably should be .

The Mariners @ Padres gamereminds me of hockey. The total is 5.5 and if I weren't locked into the Mavs and Thunder game I'd try the over out. This is only the 2nd time I've seen that total and the 1st time was in Game 1 of the World Series last year.
