Thedeakon vs Degosfinest

No doubt this is the most intriguing matchup of the Quarters. Two Gladiators who both have something to prove. Thedeakon the pride of Canada has proven to be a worthy Gladiator making it to the Quarterfinals 2 Tournaments in a row. ? But unfortunately Thedeakon finds himself once again up against a very tough opponent in Degosfinest. Thedeakon had the highest win pct in the 1st Round so that gives him a slight edge. Degosfinest brings a chess match mind to the battle which has served him well in the past. This is a tough one to call but I give the slight edge to Degosfinest in a very tough battle.

Brackson VS Masterone

This is yet another interesting matchup featuring Brackson and Masterone. Brackson of course as everyone knows is the King of Streak Survivor with a streak of 24 an All Time high. Brackson has shown his flexibility with his performance in the Battle Forum. He has revolutionized the approach. Despite losing more games than he won Brackson finished the 1st Round in 1st Place by wagering exclusively on big Underdogs in Baseball. It's a strategy that has paid off for him. Will he change his strategy now that we're doing head to head battles? I don't know. But I do know that Masterone played a masterful 1st round. Masterone basically laid low and then suddenly the last 4 days went on  a torrid streak to finish 6th. Two very different approaches from 2 very different Gladiators in a clash of styles. I give the edge to Brackson in this match because of his uncanny ability to pick winning Underdogs.

Atlanta vs WBellhaven

It's the Champ versus the Quiet Assasin in this matchup. Atlanta is the current Battle Forum Champ. He always seems to be in contention no matter what contest it is. He is simply good no matter the format and it's one of the reasons why he's had so much success in the Battle Forum. We don't expect him to change anytime soon. WBellhaven doesn't say much but he always seems to be in the mix. He's just not making much noise and doesn't talk much. WBellhaven is methodical in his picks but wins on a consistent basis. The thing about the Battle Forum though is sometimes the conservative approach doesn't work very well. I'm not sure if WBellhaven can handle Atlanta if Atlanta gets hot. I give the edge to Atlanta who is capable of going on torrid streaks to obliterate opponents.

You can't tell me that we don't live in the matrix. Now that I'm out of the Battle Forum. I picked the Cardinals for my Streak. Cardinals were down 4-0 going into the bottom of the 9th. They score 3 runs and now it's 2 outs and the Bases loaded. Cingrani walks Brandon Moss to force in the tying run. Yadir Molina comes up to bat and you guys know what I'm thinking cause I've been a victim of it 3 times but God has a sense of humor. Cingrani doesn't throw a Wild Pitch. No he does something else just as crazy. He hits Molina to force in the winning run on a HBP. Unreal. This time though I'm on the winning side to keep my streak for the cash streak alive but still its good to get one of these weird wins for a change. 

What the heck is going on in MLB this Summer. I'm seeing some of the weirdest endings in my life. I guess the next thing we will see will be a Balk-Off or Catchers Interference to end the game.  Unbelievable.

UPSET CITY SINKS FURTHER INTO THE ABYSSS! 


Upset City lost 137 points today and now trails Grambus by 902 points with 6 days left in this battle. Upset City needs to start putting together some strong days in order to put pressure on Grambus. Today's lost makes 2 days in a row of losses totaling 198 points. That is simply not going to get it done.

THEDEAKON IS ON A RECORD PACE!

Thedeakon is on a record pace but unfortunately it's the wrong kind of record. Thedeakon recorded yet another loss today, losing 100 points. It's Thedeakon's 8th day of losses in a row and 12th of the last 13 days. These numbers is why he faces a hole of 1898 points as we start off this 2nd week. The Fat Lady isn't singing yet but she is making her way to the stage.

Brackson can't seem to gain any leverage even though Masterone is struggling as well today losing 210 points. But it really didn't matter because Brackson lost 100 points to stay far behind Masterone trailing by 743 points

THE CHAMP RETAKES THE LEAD!

It's our only Battle that is close. Atlanta and WBellhaven are going toe to toe and the fans in the Battle Forum are loving it. Atlanta is starting to gain his mojo back. He has now posted 2 days in a row of solid gains. WBellhaven though isn't going to go gently into that good night. WBellhaven came from far down to have the Champ in trouble and now that he's trailing again we expect WBellhaven to bounce back and take this battle down to the wire.

It's one of the strangest summers ever for me regarding Baseball. I've lost 4 games in the 9th inning 3 by Wild Pitches and one by HBP. I've also won 2 by HBP. Tonight being the latest when Oakland had tied the game in the 9th with Texas and scored 2 runs in the 10th to take a 4-2 lead. Texas scores 3 runs in the 10th to win the game. The winning run scored on....you guessed it a Wild Pitch. You can't make this stuff up. Something that would happen once in 5 yrs has happened  to 4 times this summer, 3 against me and one for me. Has anybody else been on these crazy games?

It's over! Degosfinest mauls Thedeakon to advance to the Semifinals. Degosfinest has 1998 point lead and with only 5 days left there is nothing Thedeakon can do to make up that lead. He would need every single +200 winners to come through and it's rare you're going to get 3 of those every day for 5 days in a row. Degosfinest has already taken his victory lap so this Battle is over. Congratulations to Degosfinest for advancing to the Semifinals once again.

ATLANTA ELECTRIFIES THE CROWD!

Like Usain Bolt running the 100 meters, Atlanta has electrified this Battle Forum crowd like no other Gladiator. He showed a variety of dazzling moves to pull ahead of WBellhaven in this back and forth classic battle. WBellhaven continues to connect with solid blows and has gained points 3 days in a row. But the styles are contrasting while WBellhaven is consistent, Atlanta is the risk taker going for the knockout and the fans love it. Now with only 2 days left we will see if WBellhaven can take the Champ down or will Atlanta move on to Semis in his quest for Battle Forum history. Get your popcorn ready and pull up a chair. This Battle is going down to the wire!

Brackson seemed to suffer some Home Run Derbyitis in this Battle Forum. He wore himself out in the first round and couldn't keep up the pace in the quarters. After a very hot run to open the 1st round of the Battle, unleashing the Dogs on all opponents, he was unable to sic them on Masterone in the Quarters. Meanwhile, Masterone took a day off to open the Quarters then had 3 poor days with a record of 2-6 before lighting up his competition with an 8-3 run to open what seems to be an insurmountable advantage with three days remaining. We know Brackson will be rooting for the Dawgs (unlike college football) over these last three days as he hopes to batter Masterone with underdogs and pull this battle out.

MASTERONE BEATS BRACKSON AT HIS OWN GAME!

Masterone has proven to be the Chess player in this Battle Forum. He showed it again yesterday by going with the heavy Underdog Miami and parlayed with the Over. Well played Masterone. Meanwhile Brackson had his 2nd day of gaining more than 200 points and is barely alive but in fact he is still alive. We've calculated the possibilities and there is 627 max points available for Brackson if he goes that route. Of course all of those teams would have to win. There is no Free Will in the Battle Forum!

THERE'S NO QUIT IN UPSET CITY!

When you have the pedigree of Upset City in the Battle Forum quitting is simply not an option. Upset City has gained over 300 points twice this week and is forcing Grambus to keep fighting. Now Upset City can do what Crush did back in Battle Forum II and pull an amazing comeback. The crowd is at maximum capacity here in Arena 2. The chants are deafening. Fans of both Gladiators cheer their man on. Can Grambus hold onto the lead or will Upset City pull the upset. Even the Champ Atlanta has taken notice of his rival and in an interview with one of the networks called Upset City the "Minnesota Marvel" It's a name that apparently has caught on as one fan in the stands held up a sign that said just that. We will see if the Minnesota Marvel can do what the Midwest Mafia is known to do and put a horsehead in Grambus's bed.

IT'S OVER GRAMBUS KO'S UPSET CITY!

Grambus continues his remarkable run in the Battle Forum upsetting Upset City and advancing to the Semifinal Round. Grambus upholds the tradition of newbies making it to the Semifinal Round and will face either WBellhaven or Masterone in the Semifinal Round. It was another great run by Upset City but he will come up short in his quest for a 2nd Battle Forum Trophy. Congrats to Grambus on his outstanding achievement!

ATLANTA PULLS A RABBIT OUT OF THE HAT!

Just when you thought the Champ was dead he pulls out a miracle victory to break WBellhaven's heart. Atlanta was dead in the water but the Milwaukee Brewers down 6-3 going into the 9th inning score 4 runs to give Atlanta the victory and 176 points. 

Ironically WBellhaven had the Washington Nationals who were up 6-4 going into the 8th against the lowly Atlanta Braves. The Braves scored 2 in the 8th to tie and 1 in the 10th to win it 7-6. That lost cost WBellhaven 176 points. That's a 352 point swing for both Gladiators. But in just to add insult to injury WBellhaven didn't have to pick at all today and he would be advancing to the Semis. He may have locked in his picks before Atlanta went 0-2. Either way its a very tough loss for WBellhaven and a tremendous win for Atlanta the Champ as he advances to the Semis. This has been the most dramatic battle in Battle Forum History no doubt. It's a shame somebody had to lose. Congratulations to Atlanta on winning this classic match!

I had a great time here in Seattle watching my Yankees for the past 3 days. We will take 2 out of 3 but it should have been a sweep. I can tell you Gary Sanchez is the real deal. The Yankees Baby Bombers will be the foundation for the new Evil Empire in years to come.
