I love Las Vegas. I've been here since 1987. Been in my house for 6 years. Have great neighbors. Parks within walking distance. Tons of parks in the Green Valley area. Golf year round. If you don't mind the heat, (dry heat of course) ha ha. Which I don't mind at all. Winters are mild. Great restaurants, shopping, Water ski in the summer, snow ski in the winter. 4 hour drive to california beaches. 
What the hell happened to you here, Smooth?
I have a little one, not quite school age yet. So will figure out the school thing soon enough. This town exploded with growth, they couldnt build schools fast enough. I feel it will get better because there has been a lot of talk about it.
I honestly havent been to the strip in over 5 + years. There is a casino 5 minutes down the highway that I can go and play, (Green Valley Ranch) I don't see smut, person, or any drug dealers trying to get me to buy anything. It has everything any casino on the strip has, including shopping, restaurants, spa, etc.
When is the last time you heard of a natural disaster happening here? No tornadoes, hurricanes, hell, it hardly rains here! They say there could be an earthquake sometime, I've never felt one here. They say we've had em, though. Nothing major.
I have good friends, they have normal jobs, no, everyone here doesnt work at a casino. If you're gonna hang out on the strip, then you're gonna run in to the smut, person, hustlers, etc.
Anyway, if you ever are here, I will gladly show you the good side of Vegas.
Key numbers in football is any common number that a game can win by. 3,7, 10,13,14,17,21,etc. also with point totals there are more common totals than others. Like 46 is uncommon for a game to end with this total pts. 41 and 43 are much more common. I have a great handicapping book that gives all percentages on totals and margins of winning. With football you have to look at the numbers a lot, I bet more totals than sides, becuase totals aren't as sharp in nfl as sides usually are.
Boo, I like it here. I'm from NY, so I know how miserable the winters are.It was part of the reason I moved here. It's different than the northeast. Here everything is walled off, like every apt complex and development and most have security gates to get in.Was a bit strange to me as ny isn't like that. You have to understand theirs a hi illegal immigrant population out here and even more so in arizona and cali.
Cost of living is cheap and no state income tax.Lots of great housing deals since economy tanked. This is also one of the higher unemployment states since 2008. Theirs bums and gangs here to, but the gang stuff is in north vegas and east side. Westside and south are nice, I live in southwest. Just a heads up on the real vegas,lol. If you want to know any more,just ask.
I have to agree with some of what smooth said.I'm single, have a parttime job,play poker 30-40 hours a week,bet sports also, so my perspective is different from a family person. I agree the local school system sucks.I have a freind who's 2 kids are in private school.
Those porn boxes are on most street corners on the main drags only,not every block in vegas. This is a more transient town now than it used to be, from what a freind told me that lived here in the early 90's and still lives here. Yes the cops here take no shit, they shoot first. The drivers here are the absolute worst, most are asian or from cali or both and have no clue. Pedestrians walk like they don't care if they get run over and yes they get run over a lot out here. But yes I like it!
That article is a little misleading. I like it here, It's not my problem if people have mental issues and can't handle life or gamble everything away in the pit games. Most situations, good or bad, people put themselves into. Me, I'm a happy person!
