I agree with you smooth, sports maybe fun to watch and games like survivor, SFTC, BTS etc are also supposed to be fun even if they lead to frustration sometimes. However win or lose these games aren't life and death. What happened 10 years ago on 9/11 was done evil people that don't value life, respect others and even hate certain countrys especially the USA. I don't know why those criminal groups of terrorists chose to hate others for their differences, but it has lead to thousands of innocent people dieing on 9/11 and thousands of more in Afghanistan and Iraq. Those who are fighting overseas are doing so to protect our country and allow for something like football or baseball to be able to be played. I am thankful for those fighting and am praying that they come home safely.

Thank you for posting this, Smooth. There is nothing that I can add to your beautiful post. I have been reflecting on those events for the last couple of weeks as we have approached this Ten Year Anniversary Memorial Day. God bless us all. Enjoy the day, my friends.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that classic game last night between Notre Dame and Michigan. 3 Touchdowns in the last 1:12. That was awesome. Add the fact that I'm a long time Notre Dame hater and it gets even better.

Hello every1 including you smoothD! My Saints didn't work out but I'm back at it again. I'll keep it simple 4 my Monday night pick. The Denver Broncos should not be favorite over any1 especially sense the Raiders has had success at Mile High recently. Raiders +3.5 would be an even better bet but I'll gladly take +3. I'm seriously considering this game Hot Girl as I too wonder how the Broncos can be favored over any team as they truly seem like the worst team in the AFC... well hold on the Colts without Manning may have just taken over that spot but you get the point.

i'm going to go opposite and say denver covers, they are tough in home openers and have dumervil back and also von miller and also i will fade the public on this as the broncos have revenge on their minds after last year vs the raiders....broncos have won like 12 in a row home openers and the raiders always start out slow. the raiders looked pretty bad in preseason........think the raiders lost a little something when they didnt keep cable...........also low scoring game....denver will pound the ball.........its a sucker bet.......why have plus money on the raiders on the point spread......their begging you to take the raiders.......

What a weekend of Football! From that classic Notre Dame-Michigan tilt to the Jet-Cowboys! I loved it! I am a pure Cowboy hater. I have 2 favorite teams, the Vikings and anybody playing the Cowboys. My Vikings lost a tough game to the Chargers but I think we will fool some people this year. I must say I was shocked by the Ravens dismantling of the Steelers. I didn't see that coming. Some people are already pressing the panic button for Pittsburgh. I don't see the Coach or Roethlisberger doing that. Another surprise for me is Cam Newton's performance...absolutely  amazing. I wasn't a Newton fan last year until I saw that National Championship game when they played Oregon. Now after his NFL debut and seeing him in post game interview I must say the kid's the real deal. I am a believer now. He will make Rookie mistakes but if you look at him he has the "it" factor. Whatever "it" is. He's got it.

I'm going with the Over tonight between Oakland and Denver. I know alot of people think this will be Under and Denver will win. I don't see Denver winning this game at all but I do see these teams scoring points. Orton is underrated and Denver will be motivated to score points off the hated Raiders which will drive up the score. Concerning the Raiders poor Preseason, as I mentioned before there is  too much emphasis placed on the Preseason by Cappers. Some teams truly don't care about Preseason games and use it for evaluating Rookies and Free Agents. The only game the Raiders cared about was the one with SF because Al Davis hates the Niners. I lived in the Bay Area for 12 years. When you go to  Raider games they don't even post SF scores on their scoreboard by order of Davis. At any rate I digress. Take the Over in this game for the Cash!

I'm going with the Patriots -7 and got it to work after 27 attempts, some of which covers would try to trick me by moving the switching my selection to the Miami button but I caught the tricks each time and moved it back to the Patriots side.

Since this is the first big winner since Tuppy I'm expecting more tricks from Covers on these streaks. I think these long streaks have them reeling a bit as we have seen a wave of long streaks come up this Summer. I'm just hoping that one of us can get to the All Star list and hit them up with a wave of 25 Dime members going for the big money!

Thanks Quad its just my way of remembering those who died that day. I listened to the recording on Youtube of those in the building. Absolutely heartbreaking to hear those people in full panic not wanting to die. I can only imagine what was going through their heads. Hopefully we will never have to endure something like that in our lifetimes again.

anytime Raiders get to Denver 40 they are in FG range....Janikowski  can still hit from 70 without any problem. and in preseason Raiders were attempting anything past the 50.....the sucker bet is Den at home and the under...........Oak averaged over 25 pts a game last year and look better this year on offense... Denver cant stop the run and Oakland will get pleasure from running up the score if given the chance...Orton Blows and will make mistakes....Denver a team on the fall and Oakland a team on the rise in the division

I also like Miami +7 and the over.......27-21 or 31-27 would sound about right to me for both games

I may be wrong but i think Denver takes this........its easy to see what happend last year but both teams have new coaches....raiders had the momentum with tom cable........and denver won 11 or 12 home openers in a row....hard to go against that

i like the points with miami in the other game......with alot of points

I think that when Cable left, the Raiders lost their "confusion on the field" while Cable might of been a motivator at times, he was not what I would call a quality Head Coach.  Raider problems for years has been the front office.....its like they are fighting for power when Davis finally drops dead....and Davis likes yes men who remember the Raider glory days.....I think they have some talent on their team  definitely more then Denver......McFadden and Co. will roll tonight but Oakland defense will make Denver look better than they are at times tonight.

Be prepared Raiders are better without Cable and you being a Chief fan I would be concerned that even the broncos can beat the chiefs this year.........you say dont look at past years its different coaches but your fixed on the 11 of 12......I look at game plans and current teams ........I see nothing that says Denver can even win against Oakland.........

I don't care who wins, but I think it'll be a high-scoring game.  35-24 or something like that. :)

     Today, the focus of my thoughts has been on the heroes of Flight 93 and their surviving family members; as well as the first responders who arrived in Shanksville, PA at the site of that horrible crash. I hope that the official burials that took place today at the Flight 93 National Memorial Plaza will continue the healing of the hearts and minds of those affected by that day of terror. It has been a long time coming, but this is a significant step towards the closure that I hope will one day come to the families of the heroes and the first responders who rushed into the unknown.
