Thanks Bama for the links on the Flight 93 heroes. That took a lot of courage to do what those ladies and guys did knowing they would die regardless. That's what real heroes do.

I'm going with LSU on Thursday for my W5! I like LSU in this game and frankly am surprised that the line is only -3. I see that it's going up on Bodog to -4 so I locked it in on Covers.

Hey all, been a bit busy.. Was at the Jet game, very emotional- with 4 plus hours of tailgating, good stuff... ONly have one option for survivor, so taking the over 7.5 in Angel game for win number 4, also like the Angels to win.. GL and KEEP SURVIVING

Good to see you Sovicious. I'm glad you were able to take part in those activities for 9/11. Plus you saw a great game with the Jets shocking the Cowboys. I love it. I am a Cowboy hater from way back. I like that Over between LA-Oak. Hard deciding which side to take. I was gonna take the Angels here but it's too risky so I went with LSU on Thurs. I did take the Angels on SFTC but it's not going to be easy this kid Moscoso is a good pitcher. Good luck to you tonight.

i did hit last night with a 3 pick parlay with my local book

Miami over 47 with Raiders +3.5 and over 42

also made money on Redskins, Vikings and Panthers and the over

Some interesting spreads on the board this week

Boise St plays Friday against Toledo......... Toledo played well against Ohio St and Boise tends to cover the spread...........Im looking at Boise and the over

I call it the 2 favorite angle and this game falls into it........A's is the pick

Could someone please answer this....

MC2010 has 21 straight wins and all but his last has been MLB.  

Tonight there are several games but Covers is ONLY offering 1 game for making a pick......WTF ???

lol - There was no surprise there, really. I had the Raiders on SFTC. I was surprised that the Broncos nearly made a comeback! I thought that the rout might have been on there for a while, but Denver showed us something down the stretch. Most backers of either side ended up with a push, but the over cashed in most instances.

I got Arizona early enough but Oakland is an easy pick

Angels are getting hammered and the line keeps having A's as a bigger favorite

Yeah, I am also looking to take LSU on Thursday, as well. Getting them at -3 seems rather far fetched by then,however. As for tonight, I could not pass on AZ -117. The line has now swelled to -135 or more, so I am liking it even better. Good luck to everyone tonight.

Congrats, Booyahz, on beating your book over the weekend! I am always happy to hear about one of the boys getting over on them.

I can relate to what you said about the pregame coverage. I have learned not to let them sway me. LoL. They are so convincing when they pitch their reasons stating why someone will win. They are experts, sometimes, at tempting you to go against your research and gut instincts. I have been burned by them many times in the past.

I agree with you about Friday, for sure. Boise State will surely cover, but how high will the spread climb? It has already moved from -17.5 to 19.5! I got them on the contest at 17.5. The over also seems like a winner, but again, how high will that soar? I feel like the value will be  gone by the time we can pick them, if we pick a game on Thursday.

Hey, Sandman. Here's the deal: The maximum line that is offered on Streak Survivor for MLB games is -130. Even if you want to play the total or the underdog on a game, if themoneyline for the favorite exceeds -130, then you will not have the option to make a play on that particular game at all. I wish that it were not so, but that is the rule. We may not like it, but what are we going to do? Also, if more than 68% of the main consensus is on a particular side, then that pick will be made unavailable due to the consensus. If you keep refreshing, you can sometimes get it to reappear.

With the above being said, for today, there were only two games available from the outset that had favorite moneylines low enough to qualify for the selection board. Arizona v. LA appeared and disappeared from the list due to the consensus being to high for AZ . I was persistent, and was able to get them at -117 last night. I hope this has made things clearer for you and wish you luck, Sandman. Come back any time that you want to discuss picks, strategies, or just shoot the breeze. GL

I tried getting AZ locked in last night, luckily I couldn't make that pick and wound up going with the over 6.5 instead.  Looking good with a 6 run first inning.

First off Welcome Sandman I don't recall seeing you post before. Welcome to our Club. We have discussed this practice of limiting picks by Covers in detail on many occasions. Even recently I brought up the subject as to how the picks were being limited because of the parade of long streaks this Summer. So no it's no surprise that this happening again. These guys aren't dumb and they're not gonna make it easy for any of us to win the money. This is what makes MC2010's run even more amazing. The amount of people who have failed to win the big money is astounding. He is the only one since Tuppy did it 5 years ago. Basically it's a free contest and Covers isn't going to make it easy for us. Please keep coming back we welcome all new posters.

Sandman- I posted my response before reading Bama's post. He gives another great explanation for the reason picks are limited. Bama is spot on with that. This should give you a complete picture of the situation. Also like Bama said sometimes you have to refresh or have a separate window open. They are tricky but that's part of the fun. Good luck!

I would like to congratulate Tim Wakefield for his 200th victory! It took him awhile to get it but he got it. I do this in the spirit of the Boss George Steinbrenner who despite the blood feud we have with the Red Sox showed class on many occasions towards our mortal enemy. Congratulations to Tim Wakefield and all the Red Sox fans. Now you guys can go back to losing and slumping. Couldn't help myself Red Sox boys.

Congrats wakie!  I am as the game cheering you on and you deliverved just like you have so many other times in the past.  You are truely a boston athlete.  Congrats on a long and wonderous journey no matter where it took you.  Thx for remainging loyal to the redsox.   Good luck with the rest of your career. Can you explain the change in your angle or was it just something particular to this game.

When the line does stat at 2 favorites and neither team is an AL EAST TEam take the home vteam

When 1 of the teams is the AL EAST take them
When both at -103 take away team

Tampa as an away team with both teams favored has shut out thier opponent every time

This is what I have from the results I have recorded

it started out simple ..........at first I tried 2 teams favored take the visitor but as a started recording the results the above has been right every time...... at first the angle hit because I was lucky to have caught this when the yanks and tampa played in a 2 favorite scenario .  I wish I would of caught on to this angle sooner but the past couple months I have been able able to tweek it by looking at the results I have recorded.  This is the only baseball angle I currently keep track of because Im trying to find one in football but this baseball angle is going to be interesting to see if next season it continues

The hard part is waiting and making sure it stays as 2 favorites either most of the day or at warmup. Sometimes after warmup when the game is underway the line on covers will go to +100 and -106 for both teams, so far this hasn't mattered.  Tampa on the road under this angle is best one so far, all shut outs.

Hope this helps.......if this changes at all I will catch it
