i know and payton is usually aggressive.....that should of been easy.....especially when the short yardage runs didnt work all game long...........yep those 2 plays were costly and the fumble to start the game with............or even pitch the ball to sproles to the outside i could live with that....lol

I agree especially since ingram isn't exactly a "big" back like kuhn or brandan jacobs.  Its easy to stop his momentum and there offensive line was getting man handled all day.   I agree the a qb sneak or a quick pitch to sporles on the outside would have been a better play.

I agree with what you guys said about the end of the game. Here is one more observation about the Saints last play. I believe that even though the call to run up the gut was a bad one, that Ingram himself could have spun and bounced around to the outside.The Packers sold out and crashed the middle and would not have reacted in time to stop the explosive quickness of Ingram, nor his power in getting across the goaline. I commend Ingram for not doing this. He is a rookie and knew the "right" thing to do was follow the play as scripted. If rookies try to improvise, they find the bench quickly in this league.
Finally, even as the play was run the way that it was, it appeared that Mark Ingram could have gone lower and bulldozed his way into a dive for the score. I saw him do that at Alabama countless times and I'm not sure if I ever saw him attempt  to go in upright the way he did last night. Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure the play developed so fast that they all did the best they could. Those are the breaks, I guess. Geaux Saints!

I like the play! I wish you the best of luck on it! Lackey has been nothing too special in his last five games, allowing at least four runs and going 2-3 with a 6.03 ERA. He does get some uncanny run support for some reason, though.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that Wade Davis is 0-2 with a 11.12 ERA in three career starts against Boston. Davis has been lights out in his last seven home starts, however. They have resulted in six wins for the Rays. He has gone 2-1 with a 2.90 ERA in those home starts.

As you can tell, I put a lot of thought into this game. I decided Tampa was the way to go, but I didn't pull the trigger.

 I went with the Los Angeles Dodgers as the small road dog tonight. I am backing Kershaw, even against Tim Lincecum. Lincecum has dropped his last two starts in a row and his team is 1-6 versus Clayton Kershaw.. Timmy the Freak has been getting rocked lately and Kershaw has been dominant. The already light-hitting Giants can't seem to solve Kershaw, who is 4-0 with a 1.01 ERA in his last five starts against them. During that stretch, he has fanned 38 batters across 35 2/3 innings! He has yet to allow a run in 23 2/3 innings en route to winning his lat three starts in a row at AT&T Park. Kershaw was dazzling in his last visit to AT&T Park on July 20, fanning a season-high 12 while yielding three hits in eight innings of a 1-0 win over Lincecum. He also beat the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner on opening day March 31, when Kershaw worked seven scoreless innings in a 2-1 victory.

Kershaw has also been rolling against other opposition, as well. He is 4-0 with a .090 ERA in his last five starts. He is 17-5 with a 2.45 ERA on the saeason and is making a strong case for the NL Cy Young Award. I can certainly live with it if I lose backing Kershaw. His Dodgers are on quite a run, winning 13 of their last 16 games overall. I simply feel that the line is an oddsmakers error and the wrong team is favored.

SFTC is brutal this month. Bama I feel your pain over there. I had an ugly 7 game losing streak this month as well.

Games Im looking at tomorrow

i saw a replay of the 1st 4th down play, he had the fullback open....brees hesitated and the play got blown up..........also on the last play if your going up the middle why not give it to sproles and let him fly over the top..........but they had a chance and it cost me but you can fall behind 14zip to start the game.........just glad football is back

I am going with TCU today. I just don't see them losing 2 straight and I don't see their defense playing poorly again. However I will say this. Air Force has been known to rack up as much as 300 yards on the ground in years past so TCU's defense better be ready for the ground attack.

Can't believe you would bet against my Packers...lol.  The lock today to get me to W6 is Wisconsin -20.5.  Ohio St and Iowa look good also.  Everyone stay away from Michigan St. Best of luck to all. 

Did anyone see West Virginia's point spread against Norfolk State?
It's -46.5! When I thought the spreads could not get any bigger guess what LSU's is against Northwestern State? -49! Imagine starting a pick in a 7 touchdown deficit however it's these games that could end 70-0. With that being said It's Standford -20 over Duke that I'm going for.

I couldn't go without posting after my alma mater put on a show like that tonight.  Best game i have ever seen and i am still riding high.  I hope everyone had good luck with there picks tonight and what a win for the maize and blue!

Hey Bama, whats going on with that Sports Parlor site, they still have the August contest & prize listed, do you know anything, I mean is it common for them to take this long to update the following months contest & prize?  I just have a feeling that the site is done because it doesn't seem to be more then about 20 people who participate in the contests on the site, which personally I like since it gives you a much higher shot at actually winning, but probably not good for keeping the site going.

Also I got my hat last week, I gotta say it was pretty cheap & flimsy, the back half of it is that mesh, have the hats always been like that, or did they use to be nicer?

Hey all....I see the leader is taking Philly -3.5 for some big money.  That is the game I was liking best today.  Any thoughts on the lock for the day?  Going for W7.  Wisconsin came through for me yesterday.  Smooth, saw your blog with Bama and thought you took the Saints....  Vikings will have some interesting work ahead of them today and the rest of the season.  Good luck everyone today.

Before we get on with our day full of sports, Football, baseball and Soccer. Let's all take a moment to remember that fateful day when this country was attacked by a group hell bent on bringing us down. I'm sure everyone remembers where they were on that horrible day, the lives lost and how we all cried as we watched our country being attacked. But as Americans we overcame and justice was served to Bin Laden this year. Not only did we lose 2,953 American lives that day but we have lost thousands more in wars as a direct result of this tragic day. Without these brave men and women including my oldest son the Marine, fighting for us to have the freedom to do what we do, this country would be in serious trouble. Despite our disagreements the bottom line at the end of the day is that we're all Americans, Black, White, Latino, Asian and Native. All of us are Americans and on that day the enemies of this country didn't care what color your skin was. That's something we all need to keep in mind in these hyper sensitive political times. As Americans we need to remember how this tragic event brought us together and have a basic respect towards each other that is so lacking in our society today. I ask that everyone take a moment to remember and pray for our country that we turn to God once again for direction. Let's have a great day and enjoy the games. God bless the United States of America!
