Hey fellas, just stopping by to bitch and moan. I just lost a W8 last night (took the over on the Eagles game). I was gonna wait to post here till I got to 9, but that plan backfired. I was livid...couldn't believe I lost that crap over a field goal. I've only ever been able to get to 8 on streak survivor, which I think is comical...I can't seem to get to that ONE more win. Anyway, since this thread is about sharing strategies just thought I'd share one more piece of info:
What I did to get to 8 was nothing special, I just looked at the board and pretty much picked each day. Where I lost it was this...instead of taking the "boring" way (like picking a matchup I had no interest in) I opted for a game I could get into, like last night's game. So, I let emotion trump logic. I couldn't wait for that game...but I should've taken the "easy" Braves win, which a lot of other people had done.
Moving forward, when I get there again, and a prize is on the line, you can bet I'll do the research and ONLY make a pick based on logic, and not simply because I like the team, or the game, or the sport, etc.

Oh yea, and for all the fellow SFTC players on here...I've been on the monthly board for awhile now, just recently slipped a little and fell off here towards the end. My record this month is 71-52-1. I had a few little hot streaks here and there, but nothing that propelled me toward the top. I think at best at one point I was in the top 50. But every new month I always tell myself to just go for the long streak...but I can't help myself, I NEED to pick! That shit is exhausting like...like a full time job in itself.

I certainly hate to tell you guys I told you so but I told you so. Betting on Preseason Football is like putting a Grand on a number at a Roulette table. It's all about the Rookies and the FA's fighting for spots. Some teams do care about winning...very few I might add. But 90% of the teams only want to evaluate personnel. The exception would have been Baltimore-Washington, Oakland-SF, Giants-Jets where they are playing for bragging rights. Only those neighborhood games really count for the players and those are still questionable. Word to the wise leave Preseason Football alone.

Last call for Alcohol...I mean Fantasy football. If anybody wants to get a league going I'm down for another one. We can do a free one on NFL.com or we can do a paid league on CDM together. Let me know. This is the last call for it as we're committing to different leagues now. Also last call for the Pick'em league. We got Booyahz and Vector in the Pick'em league. This is your chance to put your money where your mouth is with a group of guys that know their stuff. If anybody is interested in any of these leagues or starting another Fantasy league. Please post and I will post the info for you. You can also go back in the thread and click on the link. I know there are many people who our thread but never post. Thats ok this is open for everyone. Good Luck to everybody in whatever league you're in. Represent the 25 Dime Club well.

White Sox/SEATTLE if both teams favored take Seattle unless they are both at -103 then take Chicago
this is a good angle for betting on......it makes me money.......the key is to wait til the teams are showing in warmup here on covers.....go by that line.......gives you time to pick on SFTC or bet your book......

I'm going with Tampa to end this longest long term drought in history. It's so bad I was forced to fade myself. Now we're going for a W3. I will have to introduce myself to a W3 because I'm sure it doesn't remember what I look like. Hello Mr. W3 this is Smoothd nice to meet you!

Those of you that play sportsparlor, do you get more than 1 pick a day? Sometimes this month I get no pick because the games are not showing and other times I pick an early game and I'm locked in for the entire day. I think they have their own people playing as well. They are legit when you win but I feel like they have gone out of their way to limit my chances this month. Is anyone else going thru this? I have also had picks not graded correctly. Problems started after I won lol. Just curious. I use that site for practice betting and to compare with other contest but lately I'm irritated by the slowness and other crap I listed above, still good site to go with the others for my angles.
Everything cancelled or rescheduled because of rain.....bunch of pussies......lol We are suppose to get at least 6 inches and I'm still waiting. I'm sure all the milk has been bought at the store.....lol
Which brings me to an important announcement......DONT DRINK HOMOGENIZED MILK
Harvard in 1970 and 1971 already discovered that the XO enzyme in milk is not discarded as waste when milk is homogenized. Instead your body doesn't know what to do with the enzyme so it builds up over 10-15 years(this is why it is targeted at kids) and then those enzymes break into your blood stream and attack your arteries. Then your body sucks calcium out of your bones and deposits the calcium on the cut from the enzyme causing hardening of the arteries. This is also why when an old person falls their bones shatter, calcium being sucked from their bones for decades. They stand by this finding to this day and the top heart specialist all take their patients off homogenized dairy with tremendous results. This is just one reason I dont trust the Ivy league and the ruling class education they receive. Why does the general public not know this. And then they add sugar too it so you can add type 2 diabetes to the list of health problems. I tell my friends and show them paperwork so they dont look at me like I am crazy. There are times I want to get toxic but its not when I want milk. I look at all these chemicals in our food and wonder why are these chemicals legal but if I smoke a joint while watching the game I'm the criminal. ridiculous.
Yellow#5, yellow#6, red #40, and sodium benzoate make kids misbehave, so if you have kids dont give them any of these. And avoid aspartame as well, it causes the breakdown of your thyroid and pancreas. Which leads to anxiety, depression, type 2 diabetes and obesity just to name a few. After I hurt my knees and was made to see a nutritionist I went up to about 450 lbs, and on 20-30 pills a day. Did my own research looking for facts about biochemistry and lost over 200 lbs and take no meds. The doctor said people dont do what you did. I said thats because your job is to sell pills not keep people healthy.
Needed to rant on something guys.....I'm bored

Booyhahz that is some awesome info that you post. I'm very interested in knowing about the milk study especially. I do drink milk but not as often as in the past. I have read that some people of color have a lactose intolerance especially prevalent in African-Americans. I haven't had that problem but I do have high blood pressure and am on meds for that. I don't have diabetes but the doctor says I could go either way. I don't exercise like I should like most Americans But is there a website or can you email that Harvard study to me. I have 3 rambunctious boys at home. Good kids but when I'm not home they run Mrs. Smooth delirious. Share with me what you can.

Yea Booyahz def good info...also thank you everyone for the birthday wishes...27 years old now.
I don't have any trouble with Lactose intolerance but I still don't drink much milk...I do eat a lot of pizza and I consume other dairy things living in Wisconsin.
Luckily, I haven't had any trouble with weight or anything but I did have high blood pressure for a couple months when I was a teenager...I gotta get started on better health lifestyle choices...good stuff.
In other news, The DODGERS are on their way to a nice comeback, was down until this 5-run inning...nice

Also, yes, I have been on sportsparlor and they are incredibly inconsistent with their website maintenance...
If they ever intend on dealing with the scaling up of their user base as their prizes and advertising revenue increase, they are going to have to fix this issue, or they will have to deal with some hefty competition...
What do you say we start pooling resources and get a streaking website project started gentlemen?

google for the book EAT THIS NOT THAT By David Zinczenko with Matt Goulding. It's a book I used when first changing my eating habits. That has the study done by the University of South Hampton of the UK with the chemicals that make kids misbehave and breaks down the grocery store pretty good. I eat more fresh and shop more but buy less and make my own junk food items. Links for these books.
I'll look for a link on the Harvard Medical study. I did a paper a few years ago and during my power point I handed out copies of the study but not sure where I have that stuff. One of those papers you write and don't forget. lol

Congrats, Smooth! I took 'em myself for the second straight day to get to W2. I'm happy that your drought looks to have ended and I hope this is the new trend. It looks as though the 25 Dime Posse is planning something big as we are all riding out to blaze a new trail. We just need to keep our guard up against the bushwhackers!

You have now freaking terrified me about drinking milk again. EVER! I am now afraid that if I continue drinking my daily glass of milk with breakfast, that I will end up like Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie Unbreakable! CRUNCH!
That sucks too, man, because I love me some milk! LoL. LoL @ your most important paper ever written that you forgot! I wish you a belated Congrats on your decision to return for more post-graduate studies. I am sure this will result in even more interesting post like the above. Hopefully. I'm sure the casual and hardcore bettors and Streak Survivor players alike are all reading these posts and many are like "WTF! ?", but I think it is cool.
As far as Sports Parlor goes, my luck has gone disastrously South over the last couple of days. I have noticed that it sometimes takes them half of the day to post games for us to select. I hope it is the same for everyone and not just a select few!
Although I have only been playing for eight days on there now, I have observed that on Wednesday, I was able to make multiple picks on that day. I was able to pick the early baseball game (which I won) and then they gave me my money and let me place a pick on the late afternoon baseball game as well. To the contrary, yesterday I placed a bet on the WNBA game (a bet I would not have placed if I would have known it would be my only one) and lost! I then waited and refreshed ad nauseum for my balance to replenish so that I could pick the White Sox. Well, needless to say, it never happened! That was it for Friday for me! Just one miserable loss on a game I should not have picked.
By the way, in case you want to know, I picked the Connecticut Sun to cover the spread because thought that Diana Taurasi would be out again for the Merc. Oh well, wouldn't you know it she came back with a vengeance! She's my homegirl though, but still!
Anyway, my belief is that if you have a balance and WIN a bet, they give you your money and let you pick again. If however, you LOSE your whole balance, they will not replenish your account until overnight or whenever they post the next day's games. Or perhaps, they just get Streakmasteritis and neglect to unlock picks. In summation, I believe the site is cool, but has a LONG way to go to iron out all of the wrinkles. Man i freaking wanted that IPad2!

I was very tempted to go with Tampa for a third straight pick, but in
the end I decided on Detroit. The Tigers are hot at the plate right now and
opposing starter Brian Duensing has looked horrible in his last several
outings. He may get lit up for quite a few, at least more than Brad
Penny will yield, in my opinion. Also, Minny will be missing Mauer and possibly Cuddyer for Sunday. This in addition to trading Jim Thome for prospect to CLE on Friday!
At any rate, three great picks for the
'morrow are Detroit, Tampa Bay, and the Chicago White Sox. I don't think
you can go wrong with them. A word of caution: ALL three of these teams (pending the CHISOX who lead 2-0 top 7th at this time) will be looking for road sweeps against their opponents. Still, there is a lot to like with those three. DETROIT -116
