Arsenal vs Manchester City

Arsenal has only conceded one goal this season, and it came from a free kick, and their defense looks ridiculously solid, and I dare say that they currently have the best defense in the world. They also have the squad to go far both in the Premier League and the Champions League, and we saw the flexibility and depth in the squad during the away match against Athletic Bilbao.

When the score was tied 0–0, Arteta brought in Martinelli, who contributed with a goal and an assist in about a quarter of playing time, deciding the outcome of the match.
This kind of depth has previously been lacking in Arsenal.

The tide has turned significantly in Arsenal’s favor recently when it comes to H2H matches. Arsenal has been unbeaten in the last five matches against City in all competitions. Most notably, Arsenal won 5-1 at the Emirates last season and has won the last two home meetings against City.

City has appeared vulnerable during defensive transitions, similar to last year, and this vulnerability will likely be a key factor in deciding the match. Additionally, Rodri seems less stable than before, and Haaland often disappears in “big matches.”

Bournemouth vs Newcastle

Not only does Newcastle have a short rest after their match against Barcelona, but they also had only 35% possession, which means they had to run a lot. This raises the risk of fatigue, making it difficult to recharge for an away match in the Premier League. Wissa is also injured and not available for play.

The Cherries, in turn, show top form after three consecutive wins, which showcases their growing confidence. The performance against Tottenham (1-0) was flawless, and on the back of that, the red and blacks also won the south coast derby against Brighton 2-1. Barcelona just played away against Newcastle on Thursday, and they have five matches in the next 15 days, so it will not be a big surprise if Flick rests some players.

Athletic Club vs Girona

Here we have two teams in really bad form, with Girona being the worst affected by their current struggles. The Catalan side is currently at the bottom of La Liga, facing issues with injured and suspended players, which has significantly impacted them, creating a domino effect that has disrupted their tactical setup and team chemistry.

If I have to choose a favorite here, it will undoubtedly be Athletic Bilbao. The Basque club will be playing in the familiar surroundings of San Mamés, where the passionate home support typically elevates their performance levels. Bilbao's home record has traditionally been one of their strongest assets, and facing a team as defensively vulnerable as Girona presents an ideal opportunity to capitalize on this advantage.

Girona has conceded the most goals in La Liga and only managed to score two goals in five matches, and in three of them they have left the field goalless.

Sevilla vs Villarreal 

I played against Sevilla last time against Alaves, but they got an undeserved win, and that has been the case for Sevilla throughout the season so far. They have outperformed the Expected Points table, and when this occurs, the universe typically corrects itself. It is their defense and their midfield that are their weak spots, even though the attack always manages to create chances, especially at the end of matches.

Villarreal has impressed greatly during the start of the season, despite losing two important players in Álex Baena and Thierno Barry over the summer. Despite that, we find Villarreal in third place in La Liga, behind Real Madrid and Barcelona, with ten points from five matches. Over the weekend, they picked up three points at home against Osasuna, where new signing Georges Mikautadze scored his first goal for the new club. The only losses so far have come against Atlético Madrid and against Tottenham, 0-1, in the Champions League, where an unfortunate own goal from their goalkeeper decided the whole match.

They always create goal chances and if they want to play in the Champions League next season, they must win matches like this even though their defense sometimes tends to mess up away from home

Levante vs Real Madrid

Real Oviedo vs Barcelona

Oviedo are newcomers to the top league, and given their limited experience and talent, it would be a big surprise if they don’t fall straight back. Their biggest weakness is their inability to score goals. Before the league started, they played six friendlies, scoring no goals in three of them and one goal each in the other three. They’ve scored just one goal in five matches since the league started.

During their home match against Real Madrid, it took them until the 88th minute—almost the very end of the game—to create their first and only genuine scoring opportunity.

Keeping a clean sheet and Barcelona aren’t usually mentioned in the same sentence, but believe it or not, the Catalan giants have managed to pull off this rare feat three times out of their five matches so far this season, including their last two matches.

Now, they face a newcomer team to the league, which is relatively inexperienced and has problems scoring, so they have an opportunity to continue their winning streak without conceding.

Aston Villa vs Bologna

I don’t know what to say about Aston Villa; scoring goals has been an impossible task for them until the Sunderland match, a match they managed to draw 1-1 despite playing with a man extra for over an hour. The owner is under pressure, the coach is under pressure, the whole team is under pressure, and as if that pressure wasn’t enough, they are also favorites to win the Europa League.

I am confident that Aston Villa will improve their performance eventually, but I am uncertain if it will occur today, particularly given the absence of Tielemans and Onana.

It feels like either Aston Villa will have another disastrous match, or they will completely dominate Bologna, but in either case, it feels like one of them will leave the pitch without scoring.

RB Salzburg vs Porto

If Aston Villa are the bookmakers’ favorites to win the Europa League, then Porto are mine. Porto builds its success on a solid, difficult-to-break defense and on controlling matches through possession, then securing stable, perhaps boring, victories.
Salzburg has 3 consecutive losses, and their last two home games have ended in a draw and a loss, so their form isn’t the best. Salzburg doesn’t feel as strong as in previous seasons, and they also have injuries to key players like J. Mellberg. I believe Porto will take 3 points here even though they are playing away.

Newcastle vs Arsenal

• In the last 16 times these two teams have played each other, only one time have both teams scored.
• No more than two goals have been scored in ten of the last eleven head-to-heads, including the last seven on Tyneside.
• Three of Newcastle United’s five Premier League games this season have ended goalless.
• Arsenal has played seven games in all competitions, and five of them, including all four away games, have had two goals or fewer.
• Arsenal have failed to score in their last three matches at St. James Park.
• Four of Newcastle’s five league games this season have ended with under 2.5 goals.

It doesn’t really need a proper explanation; just take a look at the statistics and you’ll understand why I’m going for the under in the game. Arsenal can have as much possession as they want, but as long as they struggle to create really hot goal-scoring chances and convert them, their problems will persist, and I hope I’m not the only one who thinks Gyökeres is overrated. I find it challenging to see how he can be a successful goal scorer at this level.

Anthony Elanga, Anthony Gordon, and Harvey Barnes are doing well at Newcastle, but it’s clear they’ve been missing a top-class number 9 ever since Alexander Isak left.

Arouca vs Porto

I had a winning bet on Porto to win two-nil last week, and I’m going to keep playing that until the bookmakers adjust the odds. Porto’s defense is the best in Portugal and is actually too powerful for the Portuguese league. They have kept a clean sheet in all matches so far, except against Sporting Lisbon, where they scored an own goal.

Arouca was shut out in the corresponding match last season, and they had a better attack compared to this season.

Everton vs West Ham

Everton is not recognized for an attacking style that overwhelms opponents, despite acquiring talented offensive players like the rejuvenated Grealish; however, West Ham’s quick right-back, Walker-Peters, has the ability to stop him.

Östers IF vs IFK Djurgården

Looking at the away table, IFK Gothenburg are in second place with seven wins out of twelve matches, and the main reason is their problematic relationship with the fans, where several people in the leadership team need police protection. They are coming off a home loss against Brommapojkarna and are now seeking revenge, not just for that match but also for when they lost 0-1 at home to Öster after a drunk Gothenburg fan ran onto the pitch and tried to attack players.

Öster is in a playoff spot and risks relegation, but they perform poorly at home with only two wins all season, and they are now suffering from suspensions to key players, including forward Christian Kouakou and midfielder Magnus Christensen.

Gothenburg is the stronger team and currently in better form; however, since this match is in Sweden and Öster is battling to avoid relegation, I will choose a Draw No Bet option for insurance.

Genoa vs Lazio

Two Italian teams are currently experiencing a small crisis. Genoa are yet to win a league game, sitting in 16th place with just two points from four matches. Lazio, who were expected to challenge for European spots, are in 14th with only one win and three losses. Lazio have now lost three consecutive matches, and the latest was a 0-1 loss to Roma in the derby where both Belahyane and Guendouzi were sent off, which means they have now lost both their away matches without scoring a goal.

With Guendouzi suspended and Rovella doubtful to play, Lazio lose much of their strength and talent in midfield. Marseille vs Ajax

Here we have another team that I think is overrated, and that’s Ajax. They win their matches narrowly without impressing, and I can’t even remember the last time they won away. They are also affected by injuries, with both van den Boomen and Weghorst unavailable.

Marseille showed character by responding to their European disappointment with domestic victories over PSG (1-0) and Strasbourg. (2-1). They’ve been strong at the Vélodrome stadium, remaining unbeaten at home this season.

But I avoid betting on the 1X2 and goal markets and instead go for ATGS.
Aubameyang has a remarkable personal record against Ajax, having scored five goals in just two appearances. As Marseille’s lead striker, he will have a significant psychological advantage and is the prime candidate to score.

Slavia has never won away to Italian opposition in major European competition.
And not only that, they haven’t won a Champions League match since 2007, and they’ve never won an away match in the Champions League in their history, and it will take a lot for them to start now. Inter had an easy match in Sardinia where they won 2-0 and hit the woodwork twice, so they are hungry and fresh for this match and have their entire squad ready to play.

Galatasaray being so dominant in Turkey doesn’t impress me. I watched their latest league match against Alanyaspor, and they really had the margins on their side, and it was Alanyaspor who dominated the last 30-35 minutes of the match. Alanyaspor had an xG of 2.11 against Galatasaray’s 1.67, and six big chances, while Galatasaray’s goalkeeper made eight saves and was twice saved by the woodwork.

I am not very impressed by Liverpool either, having played against them in the match against Crystal Palace, but they have enough good players to punish Galatasaray for their mistakes in midfield and defense.

One area they don’t have a problem with is their defense, which is a surprise considering their coach and only one of their last eight home games has had more than 2.5 goals.

Lille have now lost two of their last three matches and they have a poor track record when playing away in the Europa League, with only 3 wins out of 16 matches played. They have had problems with their defense away from home, conceding a total of 7 goals in their last three away matches.

Stuttgart is my favorite in this matchup due to their superior form, strong away record, and the return of several injured players. Basel has been inconsistent and defensively weak and recently suffered a disappointing home defeat vs Luzern.

Both teams are in excellent domestic form, with Porto undefeated in the Portuguese Liga and Crvena Zvezda similarly perfect in Serbia’s SuperLiga. However, Porto has a stronger European record, having won eight out of eight matches this season and maintaining a solid defensive record at home.
