NRL Season Thread

So the Cowboys were bad last week against a surprise package in the Broncos. The Warriors were worse. 0-2 and they are lacking attack and their defense is horrible. Now they face JT at home in front of a NQ crowed. 

Last years stats:

Cowboys at home: (7-5): For:23.83. Against: 16.5

Warriors away: (4-8): For: 18, Against: 26.66

So just using them as a slight basis for my decision.

Just the one game last season, Warriors won 20-18 in NZ.

Given the fact that the Cowboys didn't do to well on attack last weekend and the Warriors are leaking points left right and centre, I think the Cowboys can at least hit 30 in  this match and the Warriors can at least hit 16 for the over.

Carney is named in at 5/8th and they will be so mad for last weeks poor performance against the Bulldogs. I haven't seen the Sharks as dogs at home for years and with these being a local derby, I expect it to be a close tough game. Will take the home dog in this match up as the Dragons have been in great form in their first 2 games but I think its about time the Sharks stepped up and actually win their first game of the season.

What more could you ask for than the Sea Eagles at Brookie on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm? The only thing better is them playing a hard game the week before and now to face a team that allowed a million tries the week before. The last 2 times DCE has faced the Eels at Brookie, the Eagles have scored 40 and 50 points. How can the Eels turn that debacle around from last week? They can't. Not against a high flying Sea Eagles team with a good young forward pack, DCE, Foran and their backs are awesome. B Stewart is out but Glenn Stewart is in. I think the Sea Eagles will hit 6-7 tries in this match. Wont play the over because its at 47.5 and seeing that the Eels offense was non-existent last week, I think this might be a lopsided game.

They were unlucky not to get the win.

Cowboys vs Warriors over 44 

I have never seen such a crazy start to the season with so many dogs covering ATS.

With all these dogs covering, how can you not take the points in this match. IMO no Ricky Stuart coached team should be favored by more than 1 try. Sezer is out for the Titans but so is Fensom for the Raiders. This guy is a beast with the workload. Without him, the Raiders will struggle in the forward and the Titans have a good experience forward pack. They got rattled last weekend by a high flying Luke Brooks/Tigers team but the Raiders don't have the same offensive power like the Tigers did. Campese is ok but Wighton is only just starting to play 5/8th. Will take the points considering the history with these teams as well. In fact, the Titans have never lost to the Raiders by 8 or more points in Canberra in over 5 seasons. 

20-22 Titans win. Will take the points to be safe.

Updated season: 6-8 

Not all dogs can cover this round and this IMO is the best game for the favourite to finally cover ATS. Knights are still missing Mullen and Boyd. Storm have had 2 tough games against teams that the books have given a lot of respect to and so do I, the Eagles and the Panthers. Both Eagles and Panthers were tipped to finish very high (Eagles 3rd, Panthers 6th) going off the books initial premiership odds.The Knights however, they were around 9th and without their key players, I cant see them containing Slater/Cronk/Smith and the others. I think MNF is going to produce a blowout. Something like 30-10 possibly. 

Fingers crossed fellas. 

Just before kick off the line moved to -11.5 which is good for us because when the is line movement like that in NRL/AFL, its sometimes best to follow the line.

I like the way the Raiders have been playing but I think the Panthers actually get up in this game. Big crowd at Centrebet stadium, I think Soward, Wallace and the fast back line will score plenty of points in this game. Not playing totals anymore because they are just all over the place, will stick with ATS.. 

I think the books are giving plenty of value on the Dragons in this game but the Rabbits I don't believe will got 1-4 after first 5 rounds. They did play in the Charity Shield in which the Rabbits thumped the Dragons. I know this is different but I think the Rabbits come out firing in this game and stick to a similar game plan they had in the Charity Shield.

Panthers -5.5

Finally some fav's are finally getting it together..

Season: 9-10

So, the other night on MNF, the Knighs were given +10.5 at Melbourne and the Titans are now giving 2 points more????  IMO the Titans have a better squad then the Knights because in that game vs the Storm,the Knights had no Mullen or Boyd. I know the Storm are coming of a massive beat down last weekend vs the Dogs but I think the Titans can keep this withing 2 converted tries. As far as I can see, the Titans have a fully fit squad with Kelly/Sezer in the halves and their forward pack is strong. Will take the dog in this match because the Storm have not been impressive at all this season yet.

Prediction 24-16 Storm win.

I also don't see the Cowboys losing 2 MNF games either and im hoping for a huge game from JT in this one.

Titans +12.5 

Season: 10-10 heading into tomorrow's game.

And to add, my Tigers are smoking the Eagles..
