Don't forget the playoff schedules these teams played. Den got two cupcakes in SD and NE. Seattle had to play NO and SF.
And please do not tell me NE was the "#2" seed. that team was mediocre, and was incredibly lucky to get to their 12-4 record. They play the AFC East, went 2-2 against playoff teams (NO and DEN), and had to muster miracle last second wins in both games. They are average.
Seattle is better man for man after Peyton and the Thomas twins. I'll take the other 50 players to make up for that difference. And with all the public square money going Denver, that makes me even more confident.

Upon further review, I am sticking with my original pick and going with the Denver Broncos on the nicest day we've seen in north Jersey in quite some time.
My inner wise guy remains suspicious for the following reasons:
Not seeing much line movement despite the 60% plus on Denver. Would like to see the line get to Denver -3 but the books aren't moving it. And out of all the Super Bowls being played, only six times have the two teams met in the preseason of the same year. In 5 of 6 of those games, the team that won the preseason game, won in the Super Bowl (Seattle beat Denver in the preseason this year).
But my gut tells Denver just has too much firepower on offense....even for the legion of boom. I agree with Steve Young in that in order for Seattle to win this game, they will have to get pressure on Manning with their front-4...just like the Giants did in 2007 to shut down Brady and the 2nd best offense of all time. The Giants had a hall of famer in Michael Strahan, and Justin Tuck & Osi Umenyiora in their prime. Seattle's strength has never been their defensive line, and I don't see Denver's offensive line having any issues tonight. You give Manning time and he will throw people open...I don't care who's covering them....it may be a flutter ball, but his accuracy and ability to make the right reads have never been better.
So in conclusion, I am going with the public and taking Denver. As one of my idiot employees told me back when I was running the Tangiers, "Its a casino...people gotta win sometimes." I ended up firing him, but I think he is right tonight.

Here's some useless stats for all you experts. Some of you are so great you already know quarter by quarter how the game will play out. Who played the tougher schedule? The combined records of Seattle's schedule is 96-111-1. They played 5 teams with a winning record and 8 teams with a losing record. Before anyone says that's only 13 games they play 3 division teams twice as does Denver. The combined record of Denver's schedule is 96-112.Holy chit batman. Really? They played 5 teams with a winning record, 6 teams with a losing record and 2 teams @8-8. They had 5 common opponents. The 1st score is Denver and the 2nd score is Seattle. Jax D35-19, S45-17. Houston D37-13, S23-20. Indy D33-39, S28-34, both lost to Indy. Tenn D51-28, S20-13. Giants D41-23, S23-0. So to all you experts that can twist stats the way you want them to come out, chew on that. Just don't say Seattle played the tougher schedule!!

I guess close only counts in Horseshoes, hand granades, and NFL FootBall........... Wait a minute no it doesn't. LOL with this type of math you could claim a SB ring even with a 6pt loss (that is what they lost by to Indi, wait I mean they won by -6 right?). There is a 2pt spread on this game for the exact reasons you just listed. Hawks are just a little bit sloppy especially late in the game as you so nicely highlighted for me. Want a good prop bet take the OVER on the fumbles that Lynch and Wilson will drop giving Denver great field advantage. Hawks have used their D to hide mistakes made by their Offence all year and especially in the Playoffs. (Offence fumbles/turnover and the D saves them with a 3 and out or a red zone stop) but unless they play an almost perfect game or Sherman/secondary can grab a pick for every fumble Denver will make them pay at a much higher rate than they have experienced this season.
Here's something I find interesting about the teams they've played in the past. NE cupcakes iced the Colts using the run game and good defence which is the same game that Seattle is suppose to be the best at but couldn't use to defeat those same Colts. Then NE was unable to use that same game plan to even compete with Denver. So if the Hawks were unsuccessful why did NE try the same game plan in the playoffs against a team that already proved they could beat that type of team when they have a strong pass game? In that Indi game did NE execute defence and run better than the Hawks did when they lost to the Colts? Same NE couldn't move the ball with the run or stop the Bronco's Offence but they're washed up right so they don't count? Denver and the Bronco's faced and beat 2 of their biggest demons from the past when they beat NE and SD. Those were confidence building wins of the best kind. They beat 2 of the 3 teams they lost to during the season. That is not a soft playoff run.
Man honestly was kind of on the fence but leaning Denver. Came here to see if I could find any good points I may have overlooked but all I'm seeing is this crazy SeaHawk math. How can I read in the same thread that none of the Hawks losses count so they were undefeated this season and that none of the Bronco's wins count for anything? Are there no schools in Seattle or do you guys just all skip math? Think I'm taking Denver because Peyton is secretly a Jedi Knight (how else can you explain the weather).

I was pretty confident on the Broncos but after reading all these homer Seattle fans try and over explain why they will win, it's become very apparent to me that the Broncos will cover by more than 7. Most of your stats mean nothing with respect to this game, and it makes me question whether some of you even watch the sport all year or for as long as many others.
GLA!!! Don't over think it and please stop saying that Vegas knows something everyone else doesn't-they simply do not.

The ATS history doesn't look good for Denver no doubt and the underdog have won straightup the last 4 out of 5. That being said..
I'm still all in on Denver. The favorite has got to win at some point so.. s#%t why not now? As a fan of football I want to see Manning get trophy #2, he'll be throwing some quackers alright..

Just need to chime in on this debate for all these Seahawks backers. I forgot who posted that Denver got to play 2 "Cupcakes" in the Pats and SD.. That statement is outright ridiculous. First SD may have been the hottest team entering the wild card and playoffs w momentum from a 5 game win streak until Denver ended their Superbowl quest. They dismantled NE and held them to 16 pts granted they were a little banged up that says alot about their defense stepping up in big games holding them to 16 pts. Second Seattle has a few very good and talented defenses players but they do not have 5 defenses players that are going to be able to contain the onslaught of high-powered offensive weaponry Peyton Manning has at his disposal this season. Manning has never had a team this stacked w talent and with 2 weeks to prepare SEATTLE is going to be trying to come back from being down double digits this whole game. Seattle does not have the offense capable of scoring 30 points needed to win this matchup. I give them credit for a great season but player for player they are outmatched severely on offense and they dont have 6 guys named Sherman w his ability to cover both Thomas'.. Decker and Welker w a solid run game to boot its gonna be a long day for Pete Carrol and Wilson to find players who can step up n out score the Broncos. Lynch will have a great game I am sure and they will get stops but they will not be able to outscore the Denver boys to win this game and thats unfortunately how this game will be won and lost BOL to everyone play Broncos

where are you seeing where the money is? No one tells you that. You may see 70% of people picking a side but not the dollar amounts. Line moves (unless they are being manipulated by the books) determine where the coin is, not % of public.

Broncos win and cover. Experts against the spread and Sammy Ace agree. Light winds plus 2 weeks for Peyton prep, plus cast of weapons that matches Atlanta team from last year that put up 30 on the legion of doom. Also, Wilson has been mediocre last 6 games, Denver defense has only allowed 14 ppt in last 4. These factors outweigh Beast mode, a strong Seattle fan prescience, But in a quiet stadium, and Percy coming back. Odds are with Denver.

Quad makes some very interesting points, watch for Denver to get some helpful calls in the game. I noticed my own benchmarks that indicate a preference by the establishment for Denver which I will not mention here. It could come down to one point so take the moneyline. Prediction PERcy Harvin has butterfingers this game. Denver wins by at least 1 point.
There are alot of people mentioning ''the public the public.'' The public bets much smaller than the professional gambler. So this explains the lack of line movement. Dont let that worry you.
