No words can describe or justify your stance  on this matter. So don't even freaking bother, unless you change your position on this matter.

Oh, and thank God it wasn't one of your family.

It is already illegal to kill children. Lets not justify and endorse evil as we attempt to further our political agendas. Let the bodies of those poor children be taken away from the scene before you attempt to besmirch their memory by promoting your ideology.

    You are despicable.

    rick,

Does it matter what happened today to a gun rights fanatic?

The argument will be guys on your side saying people kill and guns are good and a way to protect you from the government..

The other side says guns kill and we dont need weapons that can kill 20-30 kids when some moron gets mad and acts badly.

Dont call don juan despicable, this event today is not new and it will happen again.

i disagree when the tragedy is an example of why he believes he has the right position which is specifically relevant to the tragedy.

Some wacko who is staunch anti-gun with nothing to live for will do something like this.

He will go on a rampage, kill a bunch of innocent children, and rile up the other anti-gun advocates.

Did anyone see the movie The Life of David Gale? I know it's just a movie but if someone has an agenda they could do something crazy just to prove a point.

Well one thing is to allow people to have hand gun for self defense, but i do not understand why people need to have full automatic assault rifles out in the public space.

It is not like you have the need to fire your riffle 30-50-100 times in a short time period to defend yourself.

Agree, it may be political but is also just pure common sense. There is not 1 sane & valid reason why there should not be an assault weapons ban in our society - not 1.

Speaking of despicable, someone even suggest the gov. was behind this tragedy to promote an anti-gun agenda.

Rick -- respectfully -- aren't you advancing your own political agenda in this tragic moment by calling a ban on assault weapons "evil" even as you call another despicable for taking the other side? Please don't say don juan did it first. The very fact that you have to use the phrase "Let the bodies of those poor children be taken away from the scene" is a red flag that something is terribly sick in our national body. I don't know pretend to know the remedy. I don't believe that heavy-handed gun control is the answer. But something is out of control and calling another poster despicable for raising the gun control issue because of this situation is not part of the solution, either. In fact, your reaction was as expected as Don Juan's. You and he represent the typical back and forth that we have become sadly accustomed to after these repeated tragedies. We need the conversation to get beyond this point.

Rick -- respectfully -- aren't you advancing your own political agenda in this tragic moment by calling a ban on assault weapons "evil" even as you call another despicable for taking the other side? Do you know what Rickie ?.... there are now words to describe your reaction to my post, and how I feel about this tradegy. Except to say,,Do not ever reply to any of my posts.. I will never open anything you post. Because you are not worth a pile of dung. And for you to say....

That is like saying.. let all those poor children in those German concentration camps who were lead to the gas chamber be taken away, before we besmirch their memory. And then discuss whether we let the Germans keep killing them.

We are letting this wacko who did this tear us down.
We don't always have to agree politically but let's not let this event
stop us from having a civil discussion.
There will always be wackos who do stuff like this and we'll never
     know until it's too late.

This WACKO had already killed his mother and maybe other people before he even went to the school. This morning he decided he was going to die and there was no turning back. He probably thought "What difference does it make if I kill a thousand innocent children."

Don't let tragic events like this tear us apart. We need to come together.

Everytime one of these sad events happens..esp.if it takes the life of young children ..we hear many progressive liberals calling for a ban on the weapon used ... but at the same time they are not against suction vacuums the weapon used in aborting 1.2 million unborn children every year in America..

Well, as far as the answer, we won't ever have a totally effective one because these events always seem to have serious mental, emotional and/or psychological disturbances at their core, but that's no reason not to ban weapons that make it easy to quickly kill numerous folks at close range. And no, a ban won't deter everyone from getting their hands on 1 or creating a makeshift job, but if it only minimizes it & the # of lives lost to a degree, it's more than worth it.

The arguments about 'em being needed if the govt comes for 'em is total BS & where the real & false political ideaology comes into play imo.

There you go again. Conflating arguements and reducing everything to silliness.  That's like saying Slim would be okay with abortions if a gun were used instead of a vaccuum.

Perhaps it's time for this country to get out of the gun business.  Just a thought.

Guns aren't the problem here guys -- its a glaring lack of mental health awareness, acceptance, and treatment in the US.

    At least, that's my opinion.

Case in point, from ABC News: "Ryan Lanza, 24, brother of gunman Adam Lanza, 20, tells authorities that his younger brother is autistic, or has Asperger syndrome and a "personality disorder.""

This is what we get when we allow our people to partake in X-Box Live participatory killing sprees. The "enemy" can no longer be negotiated with. He/she/they must simply be eliminated. The answer in these games is never forgiveness, understanding, or fundamental truth. Always violence, always by weaponry. If this is what we reap, this is what we sow.
