Lol sometimes on this forum I feel like I'm debating someone trying to say the "sky" is green...

But often times with certain posters, I feel like im debating someone trying to say the "ski" is green and when I ask them what in the world they are talking about, they engage in name calling, insults and lies...

Seems like the "usual" way things turn out with certain posters

Wisconsin's Republican governor and Republican state legislature imposed those restrictions which were overturned.

Voter ID laws impact minority turnout:

In 2012, an uncommonly frank GOP politician admitted that voter ID laws were intended to suppress Democratic turnout:

This weekend, Pennsylvania Republican House Leader Mike Turzai (R-PA) finally admitted what so many have speculated: Voter identification efforts are meant to suppress Democratic votes in this year’s election.

At the Republican State Committee meeting, Turzai took the stage and let slip the truth about why Republicans are so insistent on voter identification efforts — it will win Romney the election, he said:

I applaud the GOP politician for admitting that the GOP are  trying to rig elections...

It is only through this type of honesty and transparency that change can happen and the GOP can move from America not trusting them... It's a good move in the bigger picture...

Ok as a non-partisan independent with and independent view on the topic I actually am in favor of someone having to prove who they are as a part of the voting process...

But I am not in favor of desperate attempts at rigging elections because the election cannot be won fairly...

I think this shows a fundamental problem with the GOP in their choice of strategy...  Some of the articles you posted refer to voter ID as rigging the elections by keeping out democrats but there is also a mention of imposing a war on minority voters...

Which if you think about it since there are minorities in both parties they are essentially blocking GOP minority voters which they have been desperately needing for quite some now... So a waging a war on minority voters is not attacking democrats but they are blocking the propagation of minority GOP voters also...  Seems like a pretty dumb strategy in the long run for many reasons...

I'm thinking the problem is that GOP lemmings have been prescibed this point of view knowing that it is an attempt to rig the election process.  But the war on democrat voters alone is not enough emotional fuel for them to get all crazy about it.  You need the component of a war on minority voters to really stoke the racist and bigotted response in such a passionate manner... Which helps round up the lemmings in the small picture. But is absolutely killed them in the bigger picture and long run...

According to politifact and Brennan center for justice, fears of widespread voter fraud are exaggerated.  Voter impersonation and voting more than once are so rare that they are nearly non-existent.  US justice department found only 86 convictions for improper voting out of millions of votes.  For decades, fraud is too rare to decide the outcome of  US elections.

Yes voting is a right and I agree with your other post that low voter turn out is a problem... You also made some good points about spending and the money needed to make this happen...

But at the end of the day I still believe that some type of ID makes sense.  But not in a way that wages war on minority voters or any voters for that matter..  Seems so  Unamerican to try to rig elections ..  Make me wonder why some people are so hellbent on being against America and the American way

Yes voting is a right and I agree with your other post that low voter turn out is a problem... You also made some good points about spending and the money needed to make this happen...

Amendment 1 is directly correlated to free speech.
Amendment 2 is directly correlated to guns.

15th amendment is about race, color, and slaves
    19th amendment is about women
24th amendment is about poll taxes
26th amendment is about voting age

The so called “voting amendments” are about voter discrimination. Where is this mythical the right to vote shall not be denied or infringed?  I've been asking for you to provide this mythical amendment for days now. To consider the debate over gun rights and voter ID the same is ludicrous. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. It’s clear as day.

Gun laws are unconstitutional. There is no debate. I agree with some gun laws even though the laws are constitutional because Thomas Jefferson believed in a republican nation whose citizens are to be led by reason and persuasion and not by force, the art of reasoning becomes of first importance. I consider myself a reasonable man. I see the importance of some gun laws.

The constitution clearly says you can’t deny a citizen to vote over race, color, status, sex, can’t be denied if you are over 18 or tax an American citizen to vote. Nowhere does it say a citizen’s right to vote shall not be denied or infringed.

When illegal aliens, or felons , or dead people, or state line jumper voters, fake voters, or other persons prohibited by law to vote, their votes cancel out those of REAL American citizens. That’s why I’m so passionate about this issue.

Voter fraud is so rampant that I couldn't even post it all in one single post. Spare me the liberal links ok. That's like sharing pro Kim Jong-un state sponsored links. Everything liberals say is a lie. I only believe pro American patriots tell the truth.

    OMG....

You cannot deny anyone the right to vote (because every person falls into a race, class, gender, and age category), which you acknowledge in your first sentence, yet in your second sentence, you state that right is not protected.

You cannot make right wing extremist philosophy up.

there you go lying and conjuring up make believe again. What the hell are you laughing at? I said no such thing. If I did, quote it or highlight it. You liberals live in this fantasy bubble. Do I need special Ed glasses to see this fictional amendment or to see your bogus claim that I said such a thing?

Wow, you're seriously mental. I never said the word right? Can you read?

I said "You can't deny a citizen from voting based on race, color, status, sex, if you're are over 18 or tax an American citizen."

Deny, as in stop, or prevent for those reasons I listed. You can deny felons. The reason felons are denied is because it is a privilege to vote, not a right.

I never said the word right. You need help.

Yet you can be denied if you are a felon or mentally disabled....

Thus, its a privilege to vote, not a right. Pretty simple.

Correct. If one day you can do something and the next you cant....its not a right. No matter what those guys wrote a few hundred years ago. You have the "right" to do a lot of things until you are deemed unworthy or incapable of handling said responsibility.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are "rights" as well......even says they are " inherent & inalienable"......However, many people persuing their happiness are denied that right because what makes them happy is illegal.
Thomas Jefferson and crew meant well, but their verbiage is outdated. You can pretty much remove the word "right" and replace it with ......"privilege which can be revoked upon further review".....

That holds true with every constitutional 'right' then.

Not saying I disagree, but you are actually supporting my position that the constitution is a 'negative' rights document.

Im not trying to argue with anyone, just stating facts. The word "rights" is not a universal pass for every citizen in the US to get to do the same things. Ya gotta play the game to get those "rights".

Hell, EVERYONE has the right to remain silent.....ive never seen anyone do it.....

Wow. You've gone completely insane lol. I get it now. You think the words "deny" followed by a set of guidelines" and "right" are the same same thing lol. Somehow you believe the set of guidelines set forth in the constitution to prevent discrimination in the voting process equates to the word "right" lol. You fail to grasp "subject" and independent clause. You clearly need continuing education and special needs to help with the psychotic laugher episodes son. No. I'm only commenting on how you admit the constitution states you cannot deny the right to vote, then in your second state nowhere does it say that right cannot be denied

No, I did not admit such a thing. The constitution doesn’t say you can’t deny the right to vote anywhere. I said you can’t deny a citizen to vote - followed by a set of guidelines. I never said the words “constitution states you cannot deny the right to vote.” If I had said “You can’t deny a citizen to vote.” You’d be right. You see the period at the end. That establishes independent clause.

I said “You can’t deny a citizen to vote - followed by a set of voting guidelines, when I said nowhere - I meant nowhere in the constitution does it precisely state - as an independent clause - Amendment (#) - A citizen’s right to vote shall not be denied or infringed (Period). This is what a constitutional amendment declaring voting - as a right would look like.

Your words above: The constitution clearly says you can’t deny a citizen to vote over race, color, status, sex, can’t be denied if you are over 18 or tax an American citizen to vote.

Nowhere does it say a citizen’s right to vote shall not be denied or infringed.

If your that bad off, unmotivated or too stupid to have an id, then why should u be able to vote... Without a doubt this is just another left wing fraud to allow there brainwashed constituents to vote. No sane American would object to verified voting. Only the mentally disabled liberal would object. U can't fly or cash a check without Id, so where's the problem?

I am neither a loners nor mentally disabled and I object to laws that surpress voting to rig elections.  Seems so unamerican to try to purposely tamper with democracy to rig elections.   But I guess when you know your side cannot win in a fair election you see these types of issue led become so important.
