According to Wired magazine, real government auditors with years of experience warn that DOGE is a con and not geared toward efficiency.  None of DOGE auditors have auditing experience.  No certifications or security clearances.  They don't follow auditing standards from Government accountability office.  This is the gold standing for auditing government.  DOGE is likely flying blind by not interviewing agency staff or learning data systems.  Even cancelling contracts can be wasteful if there are penalties or needs to reinstate contracts in the future.  Associated press estimates 40% of cancelled contracts won't actually save government any money.

These people including musk have the auditing credentials to do this job and just because musk fires people right and left at his companies, that does not give him auditing experience for this job.  Only auditing musk is doing, is cancelling govt contracts with companies and transferring them to his companies. Just this week starlink took over being the white house internet provider, well isnt that special another govt contract for muskrat. Just today 1.4 billion in accounting errors has been found at telsa, but magas believe trumpy and muskrat are the world saviors.

Just absolutely ridiculous.. and we wonder ( well, Democrats do) why we prefer to privatize most anything possible in government.   It's because government isn't accountable to anyone.. it's just taxpayers money after all, right CD ?

The ‘Government accountability office’ is also bloated and inefficient.  What have they been doing to hold the agencies accountable for waste and fraud. 
You do NOT need auditing experience to audit.  What they are doing is more or less using common sense and using numbers to weed out inefficiency and waste. 
You do not need clearances or certifications to do this either.  Most likely if you have those you are part of the inefficient system as well.  
They certainly are not ‘flying blind’ as they are doing exactly what they were tasked to do.  
So what if you have to pay a penalty if you cancel a contract, it still saves money overall. 
I am sure Associated press does not have clearances or certifications and they have a defined agenda, so who cares what they say.
