I always wondered how much a battery cost, heard the ev car's are around $60k, How long does it take to charge? If your going on a trip do you need to wait a half hour or more to charge, can you plug it in on a day it's raining and are you going to stand in the rain when it charging. What if you live where some nights it gets -20 and you didn't plug your car in over night is the battery going to start the car? How far can you drive before you need a charge and does it make a difference at what speed you were going?

Quick check...2012 Prius is selling for 12k. That likely will need a new a battery in 1-2 years, hence why they are selling it. Some sucker will buy it not knowing it'll cost 2-5k to replace the battery in a few years. Prius battery expected to last 12 years.
Not to mention electric cars lose miles when sitting in traffic. So people expect to get a certain amount of miles per charge but most electric car owners live in large cities with dense traffic so they actually lose miles.
Electric cars are awesome, but they also require a lot of elements from the earth that will become more rare with higher electric car production.

I'm all for electric cars and trucks but I live rural and do travel cross country once in awhile. The Ford F150 Lightening with extended range battery gets about 320 miles. Not bad yet it's not gonna pull my 5th wheel camper. Would be good for going to town and back. Just not shelling out $67 grand for the Lariat package.
Kinda see it like computers, in the mid 90's I paid $2100 for a home computer that had 1/5 the capability of a computer I can buy now for $600. Believe electric cars/trucks will evolve with more bang for the buck later but not as much as computers have.
Also, for those old enough to remember, diesel used to be much cheaper than gasoline until demand went up. When/if everyone goes electric recharge costs will rise and environmentalists will go after polluting lithium and cobalt mining.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia is increasing its military presence in the Far East in response to rising tensions in the wider region, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Thursday.
In remarks cited on the defence ministry website, Shoigu said reinforcements were being sent because of tensions in the "eastern strategic direction", referring to an area encompassing Russia's eastern border with China and the wider Asia-Pacific.
Shoigu did not specify what the new threats were, or where the additional troops would go. He promised 500 units of new and modernised equipment for the region, as well as some improvements to the navy's Northern Fleet.
These troops are being called back to Moscow. That region is still unstable need for Russia defense fortified in the first place.
