has been arrested again,
this time on domestic violence charges. 
Jonathan Braun, who had his 10-year prison sentence
drastically reduced after serving only 2.5 years, was taken
into custody for allegedly assaulting his wife and her
75-year-old father, according to the Associated Press.

held a press conference on Friday that was supposed to be
about him appealing a $5 million jury verdict that found him
liable for sexually abusing advice columnist E. Jean Carroll.
Instead, for nearly 45 minutes, Trump stood in front of a
microphone ranting about Carroll and another woman
who accused him of sexual assault,
and then stormed off without taking any questions.
“I never touched her,” Trump said of Carroll,
during the New York City event.
"She made up a story, fabricated 100%, that I attacked her.”

false rumor about pet-eating and praises Haitian immigrants

Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Sunday flatly denounced the false rumor spread by Donald Trump that Haitian immigrants are eating pets in Ohio and praised immigrants for their positive influence on the community.
“No. Absolutely not,” DeWine said when asked if he’d seen any evidence of the pet-eating rumor, a tale many Republicans, including Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, have promoted.

Trump now suggests he might flip-flop about another debate
“I did great with the debates, and I think
they’ve answered everything. But maybe
if I got in the right mood, I don’t know,” Trump said.
“Right now, I’m leading.”
On Thursday, Trump shut emphatically down the idea
of a second debate with Harris, announcing that
“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!!”

The city of Springfield has received more than 30
bomb threats since the presidential debate last week,
where Trump repeated racist claims [as he was suffering
a humiliating beatdown by a Democrat], according to local officials.
A corporate spokesperson for Walmart confirmed to CNN
that two of its area locations were “briefly evacuated” on
Wednesday “at the direction of local police.”
And CNN affiliate WHIO reported that a local Kroger,
the Pregnancy Resource Center of Clark County and
a Planned Parenthood also received threats.

In a fresh show of governing futility, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday failed to pass a six-month extension of government funding, with a measure attached - to please Trump - that makes it harder for Americans to vote.
The Republican nominee’s demands for a bill to make noncitizen voting illegal, which is already illegal, pushed Johnson into a corner with no obvious exits, raising the possibility of a Washington crisis in the run-up to Election Day that could blow back on the GOP.
Trump seems to be setting the GOP up for an intra-party fight that could turn into a disaster in November.
