Envious? Mate what on Gods green earth should we be envious of? He hasn't achieved anything - our markets is up like 20% since he took office while yours is more or less unchanged except from the dollar being worth 10% less compared to the Euro - Trump has literally enriched Europe both financially and our world influence on your guys expense - we hate him cause he is a lying idiot nothing else 

Your are looking at a very small window (5 months)..Wait till the tariff policies fully kick in..and we can revisit the picture at that time..........President Trump has said the long-term benefits of tariffs will be worth some short-term pain....we will see after the postponed tariffs ..tariffs that were paused till July 9Th.take effect ..............

We have our share of them ..and their good.. they'll chew you up and spit you out......and move on..leaving better off than when they came....Be careful many times these maneaters are hard to identify... I know one way to ID some of them..they will start telling you I LOVE YOU  beware you are about be eaten................ 

Hmm yeah I guess that is true - but we also have thousands of years history where you “only” have a few 100 years (was it 1776 or something you were founded as a nation?) - it is a bit hard to build the new colosseum or whatever over here - since the only appeal of that is that it is original and was the real place they fought etc. and it is like that with most of our stuff - so its appeal is that it is old - and that is of course different person to person if you prefer that or not ! But with some stuff you guys are the ones that feel out of touch with times - for instance your tax system, social benefit system etc. over here everything like that is automated and happens automatically online - everyone has like a two factor authentication system and everything happens electronically - with those aspects comparing US and Denmark - you guys seem like the 3rd world country (let me think when I last time had to file taxes myself - oh yeah that is right - I have never done that)

Most economists disagree with Trump dumb trade war.  History shows tariffs raise costs and lead to lasting economic harm such as lower economic growth and living standard.  

Who cares if most econs disagree..they are NOT in charge ....Our President is...

Economist are so smart about what people should do....why are most economists not very rich.???

Tariffs are an importers tax paid by them who imports stuff (which the corporations  make you as the consumer pay) to the government - so yeah your government will get more money - but they also would if they raised the taxes you pay - and that is essentially just what he did - he made you pay more taxes - so again should we be envious because he has raised your “taxes” 

The problem with tariffs contra normal taxes and why most economists don’t recommend you use it - is because tariffs has two bad side effects

1) It is highly likely the other countries makes counter tariffs which hurt your export

2) It has a negative influence on how much money you guys spend - and that is really bad for your economy - every time you take 100 usd and hide under your pillow or store in the bank rather than being out spending it - you are hurting your country (and tariffs often worsen this tendency in humans - and then they either have to print more money causing inflation or a periode where people start being laid off at big scale etc causing a domino effect - cause then there will be even less spending)

But I am not all doom and gloom - I think it is best case scenario that Trump is chicken out every single time (you can see the markets don’t even take him serious anymore) - it actually couldn’t have been better since he clearly have shown he knows nothing about how to improve your situation :s - if he just keeps being a box - you will end these four years more or less being where you started at least in regards to tariffs - and everything considered that should be a win - you would be way worse off if he didn’t chicken out

If you receive new information on an issue ..you re-evaluate change direction...President Trump is a good businessman...he can still effect things by what he says and the way he says it..
