Yessir. A lot in there.
But for sure the DOJ is doing multiple things at once.
You may be correct that some of the things they are going after may not be warranted to you. But to others it seems to be -- including a lot of the DOJ.
This is also being presented to you by the Media that obviously will present it in the light you say to make it look that way and keep things stirred up. Because it generates interest.
If folks did wrong and they know it they are obligated to do their job.
I do not know exactly why the Maxwell interview needs to be transparent to everyone while things are still being investigated in a way. Is it really everyone's business just because they are nosey.
I do not know that she has been treated as an innocent bystander by any means. They may have given her some extra toilet paper to get information that may help them with their investigation. But it is certainly not like they are trading that for her freedom.
It is sort of a copout from all of these folks to say these things would be scrubbed. This is just folks planning for this to fall flat, yet again.
"...this ridiculous 'Release the Epstein Files!' saga feels like the Russia-Collusion affair, most notably that everyone invested in it is being taken for a ride."
I think there is a lot to be said for that statement.
People are all stirred up about this. There is an obvious question that needs to be asked -- why aren't the victims just telling us themselves? The feeling threatened is not really credible.
"Because they could just do it anonymously. For sure the NYT and anyone else would run with it. Just like they did during all to the anonymous #MeToo hysteria in 2017 and 2018". I paraphrase that somewhat I think. But the gist of it is very true.
So, I am not so sure what they expect to see in the released documents. I feel they think there is simply a list of names. I think this is highly unlikely. Even so, what do names really prove about anything other than maybe they visited. I am not so sure this should be the top priority the Media wants it to be. One is in prison and one is dead. If there were solid evidence on others, that is something someone would have leaked by now.
But I am not sure this is really that well tied to what you initially posted about.
That other stuff is something that is concerning in a few areas.
What if it sets a precedent and each succeeding administration does it, or worse. But it also is valid that the things need to be investigated and, if evidence warrants, prosecuted.
Even the Kimmel thing being an FCC violation concerning lying is something that has to be looked into. At some point the Media cannot blatantly lie to the folks if they know better just to support a political agenda. So, I think some of the investigation is valid. If for no other reason than that. Truth matters to folks. You can just see all of the nonsense the folks believe because of this that is simply not true. They need accountability.
To answer the question about Biden or Garland investigating a TV personality -- who would they investigate and why? Nearly all of them backed Biden and everything, good or bad. What was there for them to investigate? But you do not have to go too far back to see the 'canceling and banning' in certain areas that was done by that administration to other folks. That is as near to retaliation as well.
