It is worse, and they are not the same thing.

If you are vaccinated with the trump vaccines against the original 2020 covid-19 that is great if you are exposed to covid-19 -- which is now rare, but it only helps us 66% against the DELTA virus.  trump-vaccines were not developed to fight DELTA.  It's a different thing.

(CNN) Surging Covid-19 cases -- and the increasing proportion reported in children
-- are causing many health experts to worry about the outlook as the school
year gets underway across the entire country.
Dr. Anthony Fauci said:

In Miami-Dade County Public Schools, 13 school employees have died
from Covid-19 just since August 16, the school district and local teacher
union told CNN. All 13 -- four teachers, one security monitor, one cafeteria
worker and seven school bus drivers -- were UNvaccinated, they said.

Schools, particularly in the South, started their new year in August
and many districts, notably those without mask measures in place,
saw an EXPLOSION of cases.

Fauci and other officials across the US have stressed masks in schools
and vaccination for those eligible are crucial.

A Florida judge Wednesday blocked Gov. Ron DeSantis’ ban
on mandatory masks at schools from remaining in effect while
he appeals an earlier ruling that struck down his order.

Circuit Judge John Cooper approved a request by lawyers for
parents suing DeSantis over masks, endorsing their position
that keeping the ban in place would create a potential health risk in schools.

Judge Cooper added, “We’re not in normal times. We’re in a pandemic.”

After two teachers died of Covid-19 in one week,
a Texas school district implements mask mandate

(CNN) A Texas school district that closed for a week after two junior high school teachers died from Covid-19 within a few days, is now requiring masks inside all of its facilities as the community is seeing surge of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
Connally ISD, in McLennan County, had previously shut down all of its campuses on August 31 due to an increase of Covid-19 cases and rising absences by students and staff.

Overwhelmed Kentucky hospitals fear the worst

The Morehead hospital, about 65 miles east of Lexington, is one of
the hardest-hit due to the influx of Covid-19 patients. It's the largest
health care facility serving 11 counties in rural northeastern Kentucky
and -- as of last week -- was at 130% above capacity,
according to St. Claire Health Care CEO Donald Lloyd.

Also according to Washington post, covid case and death rates tend to be higher in Trump states.  Of 23 states that have higher covid case rates, 21 voted for Trump.  16 among 17 states have lowest rates of vaccination.  Of 18 states that have higher covid death rates, 14 voted for Trump.

No indoor mask mandates.

No more stress on families or businesses.
Just live your life like the pandemic was already over, and soon it would be.

Then came the hyper-contagious Delta variant.
Now, just a few months later, Florida has become one of the only states where
more people are dying of COVID each day — long after free, safe and effective

closures, no official curbs on indoor drinking or dining — just a general
PUBLIC BIAS toward caution that is both reflected and reinforced by indoor
mask mandates (along with an emerging trend toward vaccine requirements,
particularly for health, school and government employees).

On September 16, Florida reported 1,554 COVID-19 deaths,
its highest-ever daily toll.

As of the same date, Florida has the highest COVID-19 death rate
out of any state in the US, The New York Times reported.

Florida has reported 6,250 COVID-19 deaths since the start of September.

That means that, since the start of the month, about 15 people in the state have died of COVID-19 every hour.
