I'm not a fan of Vivek but I agree with these two statements. Do realize how much we have spent in Ukraine? Why exactly? Can anyone give an honest answer? I will. To use Ukrainians to fight a proxy war for us, propping up the military industrial complex, making rich men richer? What exactly are we doing in Ukraine?

As far as Taiwan we need to really start taking a "pick our battles" approach. What has being the world police gotten us? Where has it gotten us? I'm interested in some thoughts and opinions.

I mean, I know some of us like to believe we are defending Ukraine from a blood thirsty dictator but this isn't the comic books. Putin is a world leader, not a comic book villain. Another way to look at things would be that Ukraine and Russia has some semblance of peace, and that we helped instigate this war, a war that is now decimated Ukraine and it's people.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced Tuesday he is calling on his committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, even as they have yet to prove allegations he directly profited off his son’s foreign business deals.

The move [extortion??] comes amid increasing pressure from his extremist right flank to move ahead with the inquiry, including some on his far right who have threatened to oust McCarthy from his speakership if he does not move swiftly enough on such an investigation.

The White House on Tuesday immediately pushed back
against GOP efforts to start an impeachment inquiry.

"McCarthy is being told by Marjorie Taylor Greene
to do impeachment, or else she'll shut down the government,"

Sure they will throw something at the wall in hopes it sticks a little but they have nothing substantive.

And their kangaroo court theatrics certainly wouldn't fly through the senate -  where the senate leader is not being extorted over it.

You are correct, that is true.   It won't stop though.

Governing for the betterment of Americans is NOT part of their agenda. 

Power is, and their method of choice to gain power is to smear the other side without regard to facts.

For years, Russia and Ukraine have been fighting each other.  Temporary ceasefire ended with Russia escalating conflict into an invasion.  To deflect blame, Putin falsely accuses US and NATO.  But vast majority of countries in United nations vote condemn Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.  Without foreign help, Ukraine would fall.  Neighbors fear that Putin aggressive ambition won't stop in restoring former soviet republics.

Exactly,Ukraine without backing would have already fallen and Putin and his puppet in Belarus would already be knocking on one of the old eastern bloc countries door. Putins whole agenda is to restore the old USSR’s glory.
