Or is he just trying to eliminate the 'value menu' at fast food joints?
Are you really as stupid as your posts suggests

Some businesses rake in money and some barely make ends meet. While many more fail because they can't escape a month out of the red.

Ironically, I'm the one who is the idiot huh?

This post shows exactly how some idiots fail to see the big picture.

Why you chose to show everybody that you don't have a clue how the system works and ran and hid is beyond me.

At least stick around and tell us which social problems led you to believe you could stick your nose in a conversation you knew nothing about and not get exposed.

Well, at least fellow liberals like DJBROW, DL36, Darkhorse, stiln, etc and others have mysteriously given you a pass.

You ever hear of an old cliche' that says something about actions speaking louder than words?

That's why you get labeled a liberal by me. If you got along with a few more conservatives on here then I would be forced to change my mind.

So, DL36 on the issue of minimum wage, do you think I am right or wrong?

so getting along with conservatives makes you a conservative in how you think and vote?

    Seriously...

    do you honestly believe that?

Funniest thing is that I get along with everyone... not sure who I dont get along with here..

but once again typical bowslit...  making up lies to pin on me and then try to argue against your lies...

Once you admit to your lies and drop your games we can have a civil dialog...

so the ball is in your court to admit to your lies and stop your infantile games... any time you wanna admit you are lying...

Of course giving people making 7.50 p/h (or whatever is) another buck p/h is not gonna pull them outta poverty. But to suggest that it will do more harm than good is hogwash.Unless of course you are talking bout the poor corporations and greedy bidness owners that want to keep every thin dime for themselves.

No one is suggesting that large corporations could not absorb a small raise without repercussions.

What is naive on your part is when you forget about all of the small businesses that are barely out of the red each month and barely surviving as it is.

What value do these businesses get for that raise in wages they must pay out? Are the workers going to work 10% harder?

I'm pretty sure that for most small businesses they just have to pass on the cost to the consumers which continues to devalue the dollar.

    right or wrong about what?

clearly state your point or points and I can tell you my view...

chances are i probably neither think you're all right or all wrong...  It just how you think that it is the issue... typically it is how you think and how you act that people on the site react to...

I can't believe I have to spell this out for you like this but oh well.

    A. Minimum wage jobs are not intended to be seen as careers and only intended for students and entry level workers.

    B. Increasing the cost of labor without adding value is not a good Idea.

I'm pretty sure that you're the only one that needed that spelled out for you.

If your biz margins are so slim that you cant raise the rate from 7.50 p/h to 8.50 then maybe you are in the wrong biz.

What if the reason for not being able to absorb the cost is temporary?

I will ask again, What value do these businesses get for the added cost?

    Will people work harder?

I do not understand the bolded statement...

Why are they only intended for the populations you mention? There are many many people out there who do not have the qualifications for "higher paying jobs" (for one reason or another) not just students and entry level workers. What do you propose those individuals do?

    Go to work on time.
    Miss work only when necessary.
Follow job description well and look for creative ways to eliminate waste or improve production.

    Get promoted within.

I get that but our society is dependent on all types of people. Not everyone can be PhDs, MDs, lawyers, etc... we need the other end of the spectrum to survive as well. So yes -- there needs to be a place for older individuals with very limited education and little hope for career advancement but are willing to work hard to earn a living -- even if that living is just minimum wage.

    another way to ask.

What do you propose the older individuals do who are not promoted from within? Should they not try to get minimum wage jobs? Do you prefer they go on welfare? just does not make sense to me.
