It has started. Pretext to authoritarianism: Trump demands Republicans ‘kill’ the bipartisan bill that would give journalists greater protections. More authoritarian insanity and destruction likely!

American civil liberty union condemns search as an attack on press ability to hold government accountable. In war against press freedom, Trump administration sue media companies and ban journalists from press conferences. Reporters without border warn that US is on track to join the world's worst press freedom predators.

CNN crew in Minneapolis hit with flashbangs and tear gas while covering protests against trump's GESTAPO
Were the "nEwS" crews standing on sidewalks and not interfering and listening to lawful orders? Or were they interfering and blocking roads? Again, I will not watch the vides because I have a feeling CNN is there to add to the chaos and my assumption is CNN is NOT there to deescalate the situation.
This country needs to stop pandering to people doing stupid shit. When has this country turned into the "me, me me" civilization? Everyone knows that girl that was shot was there to cause disruption and lead by her moronic wife. People need to stop putting these idiots on pedestals and praising them as some type of hero. It's just dragging our country down but I guess some people want that. The wife should be held in contempt for her encouragement.

Even if we brought into your argument here - I would ask you:
In which countries can "police officers" legitimately kill people that cause disruption ? - That is right - in no country - so you have officially stated you want to be the most oppressed and least free country on planet earth
Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

In what other countries do you see people using vehicles as potential weapons and interfering with public law enforcement? You don't. You know why, maybe other countries don't have as many idiots as we do in the US. People in other countries also respect authority and their leaders do NOT encourage citizens to push back against lawful orders.

That is accurate on so many levels
Other countries would not put up with this...Americans have a sense of entitlement and that they do not need to listen to any peace officer.....ICE are federal agents and hold more power than regular police officers, yet people think it's cool to antagonize, impede and disobey direct orders from an agency official being dispatched to follow an executive order...
The fact that people argue this point is concerning...yes, situations can and should be handled differently, but that does not excuse the actions that may have caused the situation to escalate to such a juncture...instead of heeding the warning that you may by hurt or killed if you interfere with a peace officer, they instead rally up and find ways to interfere with direct orders....
Americans are astonishing sometimes as if rules and laws do not apply to them...I wonder how many innocent citizens are killed by peace officers because they obeyed orders and did not interfere??? I would say it's minute....let peace officers handle their job and leave them alone...if you don't like it, fine, but that doesn't give anyone a right to act the way some have been acting...it's infuriating that this continues to happen and that citizens don't realize they should back down and not interfere or impede...

It is not a crime in the U.S. for journalists to obtain or report on leaked documents, even when the sources who disclose them face legal exposure.
“Journalists are legally permitted to publish government secrets and the courts have again and again reaffirmed that First Amendment right,” Clayton Weimers, executive director of Reporters Without Borders USA, told CNN.

nice read. To the bold comment, "if you don't like it...", they are free to go about trying to make change the peaceful way. That is respected and should be encouraged. I am to assume that whomever is paying these protestors, actually wants to see what happened to Good happen more often so they can keep pushing protests and causing more destruction. This situation is the left leaders wet dreams. While their people are outraged, their leaders are probably smirking while hiding.

Edward would like to have a word with you about this comment. So you're saying, if Snowden we're a "jOuRnAliSt", it would have been ok to public secrets? Is that what you're trying to say?

After losing very badly on Tuesday, the US markets are cashing in on the lower price of stocks today. Any chance trump and his accomplices are profiting mega-millions from this??

Matt McDermott stated, "As insane as this sounds, it’s true:
Pam Bondi sent Minnesota officials a letter today saying ICE would leave the state if Minnesota turns over its voter files to the Trump Administration."
"They’re openly using state violence as a bargaining chip to seize election infrastructure," he added.

Letter attempt to force Minnesota to give federal government private data on millions of US citizens would violate privacy laws. Voters data has nothing to do with immigration enforcement. Also no evidence of widespread voting fraud. Trump administration wants voters data in order to undermine democracy by interfering in or challenging future election results. For example, risk of purging eligible voters. US constitution gives states the power to run elections. Not the federal government.

I believe the power for State run elections was indeed a good idea back in the day, however as times evolve, and they certainly have, I think States should only govern voting for everything but the Presidential voting. I think to rid either party/people from thinking that voting for a Presidential candidate is rigged or skewed that the Federal government should be in charge of the Presidential voting only and it should be computerized/centralized in some fashion with only one way to vote. We are in new times now and we have technology that could certainly handle electronic balloting and cross check data sources to ensure the vote is from a legitimate individual that is allowed to vote.
I think we should be thinking more innovatively and using resources that we have to streamline this process, as opposed to the archaic methods that are used now. Come in to the times, otherwise this will continue to be an issue for a long time. Leave States to their own elections and results, but regulate the Federal Presidential voting. Seems like a no brainer to me. About as no brainer than getting rid of the Electoral Votes and making the decision process as majority votes.
Sure would make things easier/better.

Of course not....it's their "quid pro quo" hidden agenda.
The fascist trump regime sees a dual advantage here they can exploit:
1/ get rid of the brown people [but it's OK if WHITE "illegals" remain here!]
2/ coerce/extort states into turning over voters rolls that the fascist trump regime can utilize to rig the elections

It's a scam to rig the mid-terms and beyond...

BREAKING NEWS Friday . . . Fascist MAGA regime arrest 2 BLACK journalists
Amnesty international demands release of journalists Lemon and Fort. Their arrests violate constitutional rights. Reporting on protest is not a crime and charges should be dismissed in court. War against press freedom is among characteristics of fascism.

Exactly! And whomever is responsible for wrongfully arresting black journalists who are not breaking the law should themselves be charged.
No one is above the law!
