Beef prices!

   Beef prices are hitting records in 2025,
rising almost 9% since January,
according to the Department of Agriculture

Lowering beef prices will be very difficult.

“Beef is way more complicated than eggs,” said Michael Swanson, chief agriculture economist at Wells Fargo. “The cattle industry is still the ‘Wild West’ of the protein market, whereas the egg market is more ‘Corporate America’ with its supply and demand management.”

“Even with these record high prices, margins for cattle farmers and ranchers are razor thin” wrote AFBF economist Bernt Nelson in a market intel report from May.

You don’t produce the metals out of thin air - you use raw materials from the underground - if you can magically increase the amount of copper etc. that is present in your underground - you should sell those hacks instead (it is the famous let’s manufacture bananas here argument all over again) - I blame the American schooling system for this mess that they haven’t learned a big part of your population how this stuff works

Canadian chamber of commerce estimates the average cost of new US home would increase $14,000 by 2027 if US tariffs remain high for Canadian lumber.  Meanwhile US needs millions of new homes in the future.

Canadian car trips to the USA dropped from 11 million to 8 million this past 6 months compared to same 6 months last year. Trump is a frigging genius. Can you imagine the lost income on our businesses here because of that orange criminal con artist being in charge. Well, there was one Canadian tourist many wish never came to the US this past weekend!!  That scumbag POS who left his 9 year old in a swamp.  upstate NY, the amber alerts went off all weekend.  it was the only cell service that went thru.

camping for a week in a remote place to unplug every summer, I still found alot of the the same Canadian families that have been doing the same trips every year for decades regardless of who POTUS is.  maybe it's just the Adirondacks, but the only thing keeping away campers in upstate NY is RESERVE AMERICA!!  they don't allow drive ups anymore, you must book on their website and it's like a 3 night minimum.  so, sites sit empty, and they turn away drive ups who want any site available.  I saw many campgrounds half full, and it wasn't because of tariffs or a hurt ego.  this is a NY problem tho, not sure about other border states

It has very little to do with “hurt egos” or “tariffs”  as you put it, I am pretty sure - but it isn’t on many’s bucket list to be strip searched - and being deported to a third world shithole when they pick their dream travel destination 

Even if you are allowed access - what does it say about the country you visiting - that around 50% of its population think this is a fine way of greeting tourists that actively has chosen to come, visit and spend their hard-earned money in your country because they think it is cool, beautiful etc

If the rumours over here is true - you should be thankful for this - as it is said to be awful and taste like vomit

Number of foreign tourists to the US has fallen to a multiple years low.  Also countries are importing less from the US.  Ironic that Trump calls other countries mean and nasty because this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.  His administration has undermined international trade and tourism.  Threatening annexation, high tariffs, travel restrictions and new rules that lead to the arrests of innocent tourists.  Delusional Trump claims the world is ripping off the US.  Obsession with victim hood and war against truth are among characteristics of fascism.

Can't really blame the tourists, since most people would hesitate visiting any country with rising FASCISM and a racist regime that abhors people of color entering the US under any circumstance, legal or not.

Next year, US will host the Olympics and FIFA world cup.  Normally, these events would attract millions of visitors and generate billions of dollars in tourism.  But instead of preparing for visitors, Trump administration creates barriers such as travel restrictions and long visa delays. This could squander opportunities, damage US economy and  reputation.  Countries are already warning about the risks of traveling to the US.

Not only people of color, our northern neighbors, Canadian tourists to the US have dropped dramatically since this new administration.

Trump actually campaigned on raising prices, by frequently promising inflationary tariffs. Now he has delivered higher prices! He is even lobbying for more inflation at this time by criticizing and threatening Fed Chair Powell.

Of course, one shouldn’t expect MAGAs to understand inflation or basic economic policy.
