FBI raid Trump's residence with criminal search warrant

In politics, Trump can get away with lying because his gullible supporters don't care.  But in court, there are consequences for false statements.  No evidence of FBI planting documents at Trump home as he claims.  So requesting a special master appears to be backfiring since judge challenges Trump to prove his case.

Trump is a pathological liar.  I wonder if he will be able to control himself if he takes the witness (in his case "witless") stand, or will his incompetent lawyers (the good ones have refused to work for someone they regard as guilty) repeatedly advise him to plead the Fifth Amendment to avoid certain self-incrimination.

about suspicious Trump directive

A Trump employee has told the FBI about being directed
by the former President to move boxes out of a basement
storage room to his residence at Mar-a-Lago after Donald
Trump’s legal team received a subpoena for any classified
documents at the Florida estate.

The FBI also has surveillance footage showing 
      a staffer moving boxes out of the storage room.

The witness account of Trump’s actions AFTER the subpoena
was served in May, coupled with the footage, could be key
to the federal *CRIMINAL* investigation that’s looking into
a range of potential crimes, including obstruction, destruction
of government records and mishandling of classified information.

Initially that employee lied about moving the boxes at trump's direction in a means to coverup the evidence but later he told the truth.

Justice Department officials have demanded in recent weeks to former President Donald Trump’s attorneys that he return any outstanding documents marked as classified, making clear they do not believe he has returned all materials taken when he left the White House.

The Justice officials – including Jay Bratt, a top lawyer in the Department of Justice’s national security division – have communicated to Trump’s attorneys that he has an ongoing obligation to return the documents marked as classified.

The New York Times first reported on the outreach.

Whether the FBI rounded up all of the sensitive federal records in Trump’s possession during its August 8 search of his Florida residence and resort is a question that’s loomed over the situation in recent weeks.

More classified documents found in Trump's possession

Two documents with classified markings were found in Donald Trump's Florida storage unit during a search by a team hired by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers, a person familiar with the situation told CNN.

Those documents were handed over to the FBI.  The discovery of the documents was first reported by The Washington Post.

The team of two searched Trump Tower in New York, the Bedminster golf club, an office location in Florida, and the storage unit where the two documents were found and where the General Services Administration had shipped Trump’s belongings after he left the White House.

The four searches came amid lingering concerns from the Justice Department that not all documents had been returned to the federal government.  The searches were overseen by Trump’s legal team
