Can't Make This Stuff Up

The federal school safety commission set up after the deadly shooting at a Florida high school will not examine the role of guns in school violence, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said Tuesday.

During a hearing on education spending, DeVos was asked whether the commission that she is chairing will look at guns in the context of school safety.

“That is not part of the commission’s charge per se,” DeVos told a Senate subcommittee overseeing education spending. “We are actually studying school safety and how we can ensure our students are safe at school.”

DeVos has said the commission aims to produce a report on best practices by the end of the year, but other than that the department has disclosed little information about the panel. She said Tuesday the panel will examine 27 different issues around school safety. She did not elaborate.

27 different issues but guns are not one of them.

During here confirmation hearing DeVos was asked if her family had donated over 200 million to the Republican party of the years, she replied "that's possible." Only Republican Senators Murkoski & Collins failed to confirm her.

There is a 13th investigation into EPA head Pruitt.

 Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt had an agency staffer reach out to Chick-fil-A on government email about a “potential business opportunity,” emails show. The opportunity, according to one former EPA senior staff member, was exploring the possibility of a Chick-fil-A franchise for Pruitt’s wife.

It was the second disclosure in as many days of Pruitt asking agency staff to do personal tasks for him. Democratic lawmakers released a transcript Monday of an interview with a top Pruitt aide who said the EPA chief asked her to reach out to the Trump International Hotel about buying a used mattress.

BTW...Kelly Sadler, the POS who made a terrible comment about American hero John McCain, is no longer part of Piggy's communication team. Yeah Piggy...  

I believe the law should be equal for all & not selective. I also believe people seeking to enter our country follow the rules like most people do.

Having said that, separating innocent kids from their parents is the not the America I fought for.

Dsn...one other point.

Currently we are talking about over 11,000 kids separated from their parents & many of them are under the age of 12. If you ever had kids, think about this. This is one nasty nasty experience for all involved.

We don't have the sheltered facilities to house these kids & it's typical of Piggy's administration lousy planning. It just like the travel ban that wasn't ready for prime time when it was implemented.  

Time to rethink this policy for sure.

Piggy proved today he doesn't know the words to God Bless America. He knew some of the words but than acted like a bobble head through most of the song. Google it for yourself.

What a disgrace

Piggy was going to write the lyrics of God Bless America on his hands but they are too tiny.

I first became aware of our immigration issue during the 1980 Cuban Mariel boatlift. I had moved to SFLA in 78. Castro emptied his prisons & SFLA has never been the same. Couple that with boatloads of Haitians coming onto the shores of Miami, Ft, Lauderdale & the Keys unable to speak English while in many cases never learning our language. I have been outraged for years. My grandparents came through Ellis Island & the legal process as I'm sure many in this forum have similar backgrounds.

I also agree Congress has been pitiful for decades & I don't know if that will change in my lifetime. 

Rudy's latest dumb remark..

Even if this is 100% true, why would you say something like this 6 days before the planned summit? Why insult the leader of the nation you want  to negotiate a peaceful nuclear agreement with?

Piggy is many things but an historian he is not.

The British forces relied heavily on Canadian Militia and First Nation Warriors to repel the attempted invasion by US forces.  So Canada kinda was involved in the burning of the White House. 

The US attempted an invasion of Canada, were defeated...and the White House got burned down.

No biggie. Canada has no beef with the US.
