last yr in ontario the avg price of gas was equal to $4.92 per us gallon

Canada fell out of the top 10 most peaceful countries in the world, according to the 2022 Global Peace Index (GPI) released this week.

The index, which ranks 163 independent states and territories according to their level of peacefulness, found that Canada slipped as a result of their citizen’s anti-government sentiment in response to measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

Seems to me that that conservative majority tossing out settled law regarding abotions recently despite 66% of Americans in favor of keeping Roe as is, likely means the US will fall even further beneath Canada and others.

Add to that the conservative court also overruled the EPA ability to set limits to harmful environmental emmissions from power plants, probably just dropped us still another notch or two

I can see that happening easily.

Freedom house rates US as a flawed democracy going backwards by becoming less democratic.  New voting laws make voting harder.  After overturning of Roe, up to 17 states are likely to pass abortion laws that a majority of the population disagrees with.  Tyranny by the minority.

Raw numbers are misleading. Public health Canada says since vaccinated population is a larger group, there is naturally more cases among vaccinated peop!e than among the unvaccinated.  However despite their case counts, death rates show vaccinated people are far less likely to die of covi d than the unvaccinated.

Overall, Canada is ranked higher than the US in freedoms by Heritage foundation, Freedom house and Cato institute.  Many countries have similar freedoms as in the US except for gun and castle rights. In Canada, British monarchy is just a figurehead without real power.  Law requires police to obtain court approval before search of private property.
