 Well...it is a thread about AOC.  One of the top two touted candidates for the Presidency from your party. 

I am sure if you want to see those other folks made fun of that it has probably happened in one of the many anti-Trump/Republican threads.

I am sure if you go share it with them they will get a kick out of it.

One of your guys did mention Trump about 18 times last page and Bondi a couple of times.

But none of the folks you mention are touted as top candidates for the top office.

This is the most important rule governing how migrant children are treated.

It requires that:

• Children be held in the least restrictive setting possible

• They be released “without unnecessary delay” to a parent, guardian, or sponsor

• If not released, they must be housed in licensed facilities appropriate for minors

This settlement applies to all migrant children, whether they arrive alone or with family.

Then:

• ICE does detain minors in certain situations, such as when children are apprehended with parents or guardians during immigration enforcement.

• In some cases, children have been separated from parents or sponsors, particularly during enforcement actions or under past policy approaches.

• ICE states that detentions are carried out under federal immigration law and court oversight, not as kidnappings or abductions.

• Critics argue that some enforcement practices — including family separation or detaining minors — are harmful and unethical, while supporters argue they are lawful immigration enforcement.

Then:

In 2018, under the Trump administration, the “Zero Tolerance” policy required criminal prosecution of all illegal border crossings.

Because children cannot be held in federal criminal jails with parents:

• Thousands of children were separated from their parents.

• Parents were prosecuted.

• Children were transferred to ORR custody.

Yes — immigration detention is authorized under U.S. federal law.
However:

• Courts limit how long children can be held.

• The Flores settlement restricts conditions and duration.

 So, you have to be clear who is using the term and why they are using it and how they are using it.

For example, if a single mother commits a murder she goes to jail -- without her children.

They will try to find a relative or someone to take care of the children.  Or, a foster setup, etc.

But 'detained' is much more apt than 'kidnapped' or 'abducted'.

The Left and anti-ICE folks are making it sound like they are simply snatching kids -- they are not doing that.

Correct.  This is entirely different.

This is also some of the known cases that ICE was trying to apprehend and deport some of the illegals that were doing this.

But the folks want to prevent these child predators and traffickers from being apprehended/jailed/deported.

According to Washington post, either child or vetted sponsor has been contacted  by government agency in 80% of cases under both Trump and Biden administrations.  But misleading for Trump to distort statistics to claim thousands of migrant children are missing due to no response to phone calls.  Unlike Obama and Biden, Trump administration implemented zero tolerance policy that resulted in children being separated from families.
