    RFK sure is an appealing candidate for anti-vaxxers, pro-Russian, election-denying voters!*

    (*Voters: someone actually registered to vote who votes in elections, not the dotards who yammer a lot but never vote.)

    Sounds like the perfect candidate to steal votes away from Trump! His message is spot on with the GOP’s message for the last few years! Go RFK go!

    I love how often you use "dotard". It shows that you are completely clueless as to the definition of "dotard".

     Kennedy might be the most formidable independent candidate in decades because both main parties are unpopular.  In a tight race, small advantage might be the difference in winning election.  Usually voting for a third party candidate is a waste of vote.   Kennedy is unlikely to become president but he can be a spoiler.  Since polls show Kennedy is more popular among republicans,  he is a greater threat to Trump than Biden.

    That is mighty wishful thinking.... If anyone thinks RFKj is going to "help" Trump win as an independent candidate is going to be severely disappointed come November '24.

    See Clinton/Bush 1992 for historical reference.  Perot handed William Jefferson the election on a nice silver platter.....and before you say, "Perot was Republican offshoot, RFKj is Democratic offshoot, not the same so see how Bobby Jr is gonna siphon those Democratic votes".... you haven't been paying enough attention to Bobby Jr., his platform or his supporters.  Best chance Trump has is to bring Kennedy on board and promise him a spot in the Administration, if he were to win.  Something in his wheelhouse of passion, environment, FDA, big pharma....that's the way.  Even then, just because the Country and leadership is in shit position, what makes anyone think the '24 election will turn out any differently than 2020?  What has the RNC done since then to give anyone the impression Republicans are in a better position to win?  I'm listening....

    Time is a flat circle....

    Because the Dem voters hate vaccines, deny election results, and oppose Ukraine funding. Your reasoning is flawless!

    You freaking idiot, I'm definitively not a dotard. Bust out your lexicon, you inclusion learner. You clearly don't know the meaning of the word dotard. And you use it habitually. What does that say about you? That you would lean so hard into a word that you don't even know the meaning of. How could anyone even take your opinions seriously?

    Perot took almost 19% of the popular vote in 1992....

    What is O/U for Bobby Kennedy Jr. ??  I say under the 19 but still double digits but we are still way early....we'll need to see how the big bad Orange man's legal issues play out but for now I'll put O/U at 11.5  an_popcorn

    @Sidehatch

     why do you feel that Stu is "pro Putin" ??  I have not seen any evidence of this, because he asks why someone is in favor of Ukraine funding?

    The western well is about to run dry on Slava Ukraini.... narratives have shifted already and the regime is laying out the next plan as we type.... please see recent NSC Kirby statements.  The EU is gonna be the bag holder for lil Z in no time....

    Perhaps, again a big piece of this will depend on how the legal system plays out with DJT.  Perot was polling nearly 40% of the vote this time of the year back in '91.  That halved itself by election time.  Bobby Jr is polling more favorably than both Biden & Trump right now.

    On general principle and all else being equal, I’d love to see another Kennedy in the White House, but certainly not this lunatic. In every large extended family there’s eventually someone who is totally off the rails, and this dangerous anti-vaxer is certainly an example of that. Imagine this moron being president at the height of the COVID pandemic.

    He will not be getting much support from the family either ….This was there response to his announcement!

    “The decision of our brother Bobby to run as a third party candidate against Joe Biden is dangerous to our country,” said sisters Rory Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend; and brother Joseph P Kennedy II in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

    “Bobby might share the same name as our father, but he does not share the same values, vision or judgment. Today’s announcement is deeply saddening for us. We denounce his candidacy and believe it to be perilous for our country.”

    @sundance

    There will surely be votes changing direction, As there are Biden Republicans and Trump Democrats. Which group is overweighted to batshit crazy?

    Trump attracts the batshit constituency more than Biden does ! So you maybe right !.

     You don't have to worry about that, like any IND candidate, he has no chance of winning the general election with our Uni-party system.

    I don't know how many ways I can say it. By definition, I am not a dotard. You are using a word of which you don't know the meaning, and making it your calling card, which is quite ridiculous. I am not pro Putin. You still have yet to answer what reason you have for supporting military aid/funding to Ukraine.

    @StumpTownStu

    The US has a number of reasons to support Ukraine, some of which are altruistic and some less so:

      1. Ukraine are allies and it would be bad not to come to their aid in some way.

      2. It is generally bad policy to let wars of aggression < cough > in Europe  go unchallenged.

      3. Putin has escalated his increasing strategy of acquisition of other countries’ land into a full-on war of aggression. We have tolerated his prior actions on the assumption that he could be contained to small gains and that challenging him would produce worse outcomes than acquiescence, but this time Russia have crossed the line and must be stopped in the interest of preventing ongoing and future harm.

      4. Russia is openly threatening our NATO allies and could drag us into eventual head-to-head conflict with them. Better to stop them in Ukraine outright.

      5. It is in our national interest to weaken Russia, which has spent the last several years actively working to destabilize the US.

      6. A war by proxy is far more palatable to the American people than one in which US soldiers could get killed, and we can achieve the same aims by getting Ukrainians to do all the fighting.

      7. We get to clear out stocks of old weaponry and/or try out new weaponry in the field, both of which are good for the military-industrial complex.

      8. It is pissing off the Republicans, who are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russia these days…..Go figure they use to hate Commies ….Remember Senator McCarthy

      9. If someone asked me, “What do think is the most powerful weapon?” My answer wouldn’t be nukes, it would be, information. And The USA and NATO are getting all we could ask for without having feet on the ground.

    For the forever Slavi Ukraini crowd..... the well is running dry.  What used to be "however long it takes" is now "running out of runway".  This is called reality, something most around here cannot differentiate from the MSM talking points you are used to being spoon fed to you.....tick tock, tick tock 'lil Z an_light

    White House warns Israel crisis is stretching its ability to support Ukraine:  “Running out of runway”

    Biden administration moving with ‘sense of alacrity’ as John Kirby says aid won’t be ‘indefinite’

     The White House said it was “running out of runway” on supporting both Ukraine and Israel as US Republican lawmakers warned they would protest any funding request for military aid from the Biden administration for the two crisis-hit nations.

    “I think in the immediate term, right now, we can continue to support – with the authorities in the appropriations we have – Israel and Ukraine.  But, you know, we’re ... certainly running out of runway,” said John Kirby, a spokesperson for the National Security Council.

    Mr Kirby was answering a question at a daily briefing on the administration meeting the immediate needs of Ukraine and Israel along with the continuing fight to elect a House Speaker

    Mr Kirby said the US administration had the means to support both Israel and Ukraine in the near term. “But you don’t want to be trying to bake in long-term support when you’re at the end of the rope,” he said on Wednesday.

    “And on the Ukraine funding, we’re coming near to the end of the rope.  I mean, today we announced $200mn, and we’ll keep that aid going as long as we can, but it’s not going to be indefinite,” he said, adding that the US is moving with “a sense of alacrity”.

    He added a certain date could not be put on “near term” because it hinged on Ukraine’s expenditure rate and replenishment ability.

    The National Security Council coordinator also said the House Speaker position was critical in terms of bringing legislation to the floor and moving things forward.

    “So the sooner that there’s a Speaker of the House, obviously, the more comfortable we’ll all be in terms of being able to support Israel and Ukraine,” he said.

    The White House has been considering a budget request tying money for these two conflicts together to increase the chances that the heavily-debated assistance for Ukraine will be approved.
