One could argue that using the term fascist is both antagonizing and demoralizing as an American. Although one is entitled to their opinion, using such a term is considered derogatory and history has taught us that such a term is associated with a very negative connotation because it really goes back to the likes of Hitler and Mussolini. The problem is, it's not an accurate term to be used. It really is giving Trump too much credit to be called such a term and in the true essence of the word, it doesn't it. The reality is that Trump and his administration lack the coordination to pull something like fascism off. He often doesn't follow policies, even his own sometimes, his decision making often leaves his own agencies befuddled and looking for guidance and some of his policy making simply do not line up with a fascist government.
To have fascism, it demands a coordinated and driven effort aimed at establishing an authoritarian and nationalist regime at total control. Hasn't Trump undermined his own government coordination which leads to not having a centralized control?
I think people latch on to an idea that they think is evil enough to emphasize their point, but lacks so much merit that it is delusional. It sounds great to talk that way about someone you dislike, but they are so far off it is hilarious and it kind of makes them look foolish. I mean, it's not even remotely accurate if you were to look at the true meaning a fascism. Is Trump a dick and often times inflammatory, yeah, but hardly a fascist. While some of his policies and ideas may be authoritarian, his ideas and lack a structure that would be geared towards an ideology that would be considered a direct correlation of fascism.
I would place Trump as more of a reformist, which is someone who wants to challenge and change the established systems. This guy wants to make a name for himself. That seems pretty clear. He's impulsive not fascist. His is not a politician, so he does not rationalize and think like a traditional politician and that causes many to be opposed to him. Trump is not trying to have a coordinated military effort to suppress the people. He is not trying to consolidate control or focus power simply on himself and for his own good, therefore he falls will short of being fascist. Our government still has checks and balances in place that will not change with any President over a four year term. You cannot form fascism in four years or even eight years. We change President elects often to oppose something like this from ever happening.
To simply over simplify and call Trump fascist is ridiculous, in the true meaning of the term. People that spit this same rhetoric over and over are simply just trying to make another person look bad, but really it lacks merit and definition in the true sense of the term. They think it drives home their point about how bad and terrible Trump is and how can anyone like him and if you do then you are those things as well, but he received half of the populous vote. Regardless of how he did, he did. Don't like him or like him, but just as some are opposed to the right to bear arms in this country and would prefer stricter gun laws, there are as many that think that our freedom of speech may need to be taken a look at as well. You can't yell fire in a crowded theater without breaking the law, so there might be something said about maybe scaling back the speech in areas that are influential to the public. Whether one agrees or disagrees with it, it may be something to consider when the public is talking about a President elected by the people.

I hear what you are saying and you are right. The minute that term is used towards a member you are crossing the line, according to their rules. If you target any one poster than yes, so nothing against the rules that says you cannot state it in generalization. However, when you do, the mod will certainly ask you who you were referring to. I see this happening with one side and not the other. But, you don't have to respond and as long as it is not specifically targeted to one poster but rather used in a generalization you are not breaking the site rules. That's how I interpret the situation. So, keep in general and not specific. Talking about left or right and posters is not specific, but if you say hey ABN you are fascist and a complete dick and yo mama so dumb that she studied for a urine test, then you are most likely crossing the line according to the site. I think what you find is that when the leader sets a standard for himself which is above reproach there are less instances of that person being called out. Most every other president that was white (unfortunately) was not called out to the degree Trump has and that is because they held themselves to a high standard for the position because they were elected to represent this country and all of the people and with that comes great responsibility and leadership. Trump does not hold himself to a higher standard, he has no standards for himself but expects similar media respect given to other presidents and leaders. He wants to be abusive, sexist, insulting, degrading and intimidating yet nobody is allowed to call him on his words and actions...those who challenge him are to be hunted down and prosecuted per HIS own words. This is the definition of a fascist (let alone the reach around on congress which goes against the constitution and that is also fascist).
When Trump holds himself to the highest standards with regards to the office and makes it about leadership and not about POWER and control then you might see the media change their tune. No he wants to send his project 2025 hunt dogs on those who disagree with him, he wants to spew hate and anger and then wonders why he is not respected.
