In a tournament...

Not nothing huge...lets say at your local poker club.

Lets say you are at the final table and you have 99 vs. JJ and you are all in....will you ask for a 9? Personally with only 2 outs I never would......I raised with 99 and you have the better hand. You should win lets leave it at that.

That happened to me recently and I didnt ask for a 9.

2weeks later..final table again...I have 99 vs. JJ

now I dont like calling for a card when Im dominated because I think that makes you look bad considering you are chasing 2 outs and I dont think that shows class.

Now this time the board came 6 7 10 ...and I asked the dealer for an 8

Me: "8,9,8,9".....

Does that make me look bad? I got 4 more outs on the flop and wanted to hit it...

Is this a serious question?

You think it makes you look bad calling for cards when youre dominated but getting it in bad 2 weeks in a row doesnt? I mean i cant really say that because you didnt explain the situation at all but that is just too funny to me that you are worried about looking bad.

You should be less worried about looking bad and more worried about fixing the possible leak in your game that is putting you as a 4-1 dog at the final table.

Your cards that you got that night shouldnt influence your decision at all. That being said, you are right in that spot I wouldnt fold, but I also did state that you didnt explain the situation. From what you told that is just bad luck.

But seriously, why are you asking if it makes you look bad? Do you think calling for the cards improves your chances? If no, do you think thats why it might "make you look bad"?

Don't beg for cards, but by all means, wish for it inside.  I think people that ask out loud for certain cards are pathetic.

i agree with the wizard.  i actually got you one better sosa. 

couple months ago i was at a live event final table (small buy in around 100 bucks) i raise it with aa in early position guy thinks then reraises all in with jq on the button.  anyways flop comes 910k rainbow LMAO.  turns the 10 then he tells the dealer "dont do it to me" like he deserved to win the hand and the river ace comes and i win the pot.  amazing that he got it in with 2 unders on a reraise and was asking for the dealer not to do it to him.

what about the old " ONE TIME"  that annoys me more than calling for a card  ,Again Idont do it I think its tacky ,but pros do it all the time .Antonio for example
