Hear me out here. Been a miserable, long day & need to vent. I play poker/gamble for a living & this is my sick lifestyle. I sit down at 1/2 w/ 300, get up to 450, move to the 2/5 table. I have about 600 in front of me at the time. And what happens? Bookie (kid) I owe 3100 dollars to since Bowl Season pops up behind me. First time I've seen him. Not happy. Walked away & paid him all 1100 dollars I had in my wallet. Cooled him off a little. He was close to fighting. Went back & played, ran my 600 into 1500 super fast. Stayed and played despite being hungry & haven't worked out yet. Physical altercation w/ my gf before I played poker, got pulled over by a fat cop for answering phone call. Just not my day.

I go from 1500 to 600 at table. Asking myself "why didn't you cash out? Idiot" It's the worst feeling. Made the best call I've ever made in my life. Called off all my chips w/ 66 on 2.5.9.K board. Two diamonds, two hearts. I bet 100 he put me all in. I got a read on him, put him on AQ of hearts. I call my final 500. He has A3 diamonds. River black 2. Back up to 1250. I grab a rack to cash out. Put all my money in rack. Tell the dealer I'll play one hand more from rack. You're not allowed to play w/ rack on table more than 1 hand. I look down at pocket Kings. Guy raises to 20, I just flat call the 20, button raises to 100. He has 600 behind. I go all in, shove both my racks in there. He calls me w/ AJ of hearts. Flop 10.8.3...no hearts, great flop...turn 7....river 9. He makes the straight and hits 1300 pot on my last hand. I'm sick to stomach. Owned him. Outplayed him. Trapped him. Lost 1300 (a cruise) as a 84% fave on river. Worst one I've ever taken.

Why, why, why? Literally lost my last 10 four-figure pots as a HUGE favorite. I know I played it bad & am supposed to just flat call. Never want to get it all in w/ 5 cards to come. But at same time I have 1300 in middle as big favorite. What do you do... sigh

    Flat call pre flop.
    See the river.
Take it down on the flop.
    Take your chips.
    Cash out.
    Go home.

Definitely what I should've done in hind site. I talked to him, got a read on him, made sure he didn't have Aces and shoved. I was really trying to push him off the hand. Instead I trap the guy (he put me on 77-88), & get him to put in 600 in. Always preach keeping the pots small too. He would've folded the flop. Cashed w/ 500 and change instead of 18-1900, or 1500 if I flat & play it right. Note to self: never get it all in pre flop. You can't control any of it.

fcking brutal bro  One thing about it gambling is nothing but greed but its up to the person to spot, even though its hard do, the trap to go head and quick while you're ahead. Being the gambler you are I think you'll get it back and I hope you walk away when the opportunity presents itself. BOL

Being the gambler you are I think you'll get it back and I hope you walk away when the opportunity presents itself. BOL

You're the kinda guy i make money off at the tables. Overly cocky.... boastful... and has a big EGO thinks he can "read" people.

You gamble for a living..... you gambled on your last hand my dude. Good thing that ace didn't river you..... would have felt even worse.... without that runner runner you wouldn't be making this thread. Yea i know how i sound right now.... like a complete jerkoff. But you played that like a complete jerkoff. Be humble and respect the game..... the other guy above is right. Flat evaluate the flop and proceed but you need that rush.

2nd of all WTF are you doing playing 2/5NL after you slightly go up in 1/2. Bro you're just waiting to ship a stack that way..... action feen.

You should have just 3bet pre flop why would you flat there and let button plus the SB and BB in there when you have a premium hand? ..... bro if im button and i've watch you play going by what you described in your post I might actually ship it in their with AJ suited especially if i dont give a feck about my 6 bills and have a roll with me to play all night. You're play looks spazzy as feck and i have blockers to a lot of hands that have me crushed. KK doesn't have AJ suited completely crushed neither. Sounds like you gambled but button was paying attention as well....  and was willing to look you up.....

And if this is the worst bad beat you ever took in poker..... then you haven't been playing poker for that long.......

Absolutely nothing wrong with shoving preflop here, you got ALL the money in with a huge advantage, what else do you want? That being said, ppl who really "gamble for a living" don't get so upset about getting sucked out on. Take your whiny a$$ bad beat stories to the poker forum.

Try flopping quads vs AA stacks go in on the flop. Turn A, river A. Like 0.02% probability is the worse beat I've ever had. Play online and you will soon see these types of beats regularly purely as a result of the hand volume being played.

Gene, you're a fuccking retard. I tried to shove him off the hand. I'm a 2:1 fave w/ 1300 in the middle on my last hand of the night, playing out of my rack, and he hits runner runner. Def a bad beat. Not the worst I've ever taken. I've taken 1 outters before & I got screwed in the Main Event when I was 21 by the dealer. I guess it's playing like a complete jerk off when I trap the guy & get him to put 600 in the middle w/ ace high. Makes sense. I'm sure you're a real profitable poker player. Jackass. Go ahead and ship 6 bills there w/ ace high.

"Physical altercation w/ my gf before I played poker, got pulled over by a fat cop for answering phone call. Just not my day."

If my day started like that, I would have turned the car around and headed somewhere else, ANYWHERE, except to gamble.

What do you do... sigh

Damn sorry to hear that really sucks.  I've had plenty of bad beats lately myself, just a shtty part of the game.  The good news is things seem to always even out so you will prob draw out on a huge favorite for a huge pot in the future.  Better luck to youi

2 things I will say, 1 if you gamble for a living it means you are successful, based on the fact that you owe a book $3100 since bowl season and he has to come find you tells me that this is not a living for you, sounds more like a problem.

2, you played the pocket KK's perfectly and got exactly what you want and that is to have all your chips in with by far the best hand at any time during the hand. Anyone who says you played that hand wrong knows nothing about poker. Any idiot that calls $600 with A J is welcome at my table any day. He is dominated by so many hands that it is comical. If you can get all your money in with KK vs AJ you will make a ton of money in the long run. Just a bad bet that's all.

lol heres worst ever i had in my life of course chitty bingo board game online cash tourney years ago playing in the $500 daily i'm up early $900 no one is calling me after flops ......

SO i get the ICE picks pair the rockets baby Raise pre flop my $900 2 callers flop A 10 K all in same two call hands exposed J 10 off  PP Q's

turn card K i got nuts FH cannot lose AAA KK  river card J
so i'm waiting for chippies to come to me

NOPE QQ hit gut shot royal river was J of shovels i never screamed so loud in my life broke my slide out holding my Key board

and just closed out the site.  I calacualted the odds 9 seats so 18 cards dealt out plus 4 for flop 1 burn card then another burn card then turn thats 6 more +18  = 24 then burn and river 8 cards plus 18 = 26 cards out of 52 ok wait back up to turn card 24 cards out of 52 left 28 cards in the deck i got whacked with a 28-1 shot and only 3 J's left in the deck.

This is why when i play poker in casinos it's 7 stud only

because thats what holdem is 7 stud 2 in hand 5 on board.

So if we were playing 7 stud that board would be all my up cards QQ cannot win unless he bought two more queens but he would know out of gate i'm banging aces even if both are down and on 6th street he has to fold cause he sees KK
J 10 would be long gone all his straight cards are out

the others of course folded early.

So dont feel too bad about your regular bad beat

ooooo r/t all in tourney buy in was $80 + 25

midnight madness it was called at Taj Mahal in AC

hand before break we are at 400 800  already so i'm holding A 6 suited I just call the 800 ......... thats it me and another guy in

Flop 6 6 Q  i raise 10 K he comes back over for another $1000 all in ..of course i call i'm way over him still have  1 thou left

Turn Card J i scream at dealer NO Q no J No Q no J  slowly beech turns up J river i freaked out ............

he says hey i can get lucky too i snapped at him yeah ppal sure Q J off suit was horrible to call flop you had to know i had you beat

Other guy across from me tried to console me saying man that was horrible to lose like that i said this is why i freaking hate this game it's nothing more than a board game it's like playing call with anything you never know what comes up in river.
so after break i'm in couple hands after 1 hour i get a decent hand 10-8 hearts but was drawing dead with low hearts had one shot to win over nut flush A piece  he had was all in for me, i needed a J of hearts for straight flush to J
Nope didn't come finished in 50th out of 150 players

lol heres worst ever i had in my life of course chitty bingo board game online cash tourney years ago playing in the $500 daily i'm up early $900 no one is calling me after flops ......

    Really?

Lets look at this further then. Because OP is a level 1 player at best shitty level 2 thinker. He flats and then gets squeezed. After the squeeze he 4 bet shoves as a big stack. He's got blockers to the Ace and J..... keep in mind he just sat down and he's stupid stack is all over the places and he's playing like spewtard.

So we can discount AQ AA, AK.... yes he may have it but unlikely. KK and QQ possible but why not just 3bet in the first place or just flat if your hand is strong against what he thinks he has. ALSO HE SAID WHAT ORIGINAL RAISER DID? Did he flat the buttons squeeze or did he fold.... which makes this donk play even dumber.

So as a thinking player this play looks stupid. If you read clearly this kid is willing to commit all his chips on a very marginal hand. 66 on a 259K board. "I put him AQ of hearts" LOL ok guy. Dude ends up with A3 of diamonds that gave very solid equity even going into the river. So having seen all that guy squeezed AJ for value as he's mostly slightly behind but willing to gamble against a smaller pocket pair.

Good players don't play KK that way..... would love to know what original raiser did in this spot. Shoving KK here IF original raiser folds is severely limiting your win rate in the long run.

He got all his chips in with the way best hand in this situation. I will take my chances with KK against AJ suited for all my chips every day of the week. How did he play it wrong? He got exactly what he wanted,he wanted someone to raise him,he got it,he pushed all in with KK, dope on the button calls with AJ suited. OP is a HUGE favorite. Just a bad beat but KK makes money long term in that spot.

I hate getting monsters after just raking in a big pot.  It seems like I always lose those hands and give back much of what I just won.
