I can only hope the above list will help conspiracy theorists realize that coincidences that seem to defy mathematical probabilities do happen in life. That's why there is a name for them, why they are called coincidences. In fact, they are so common that we sometimes loosely suggest the phenomenon when no real coincidence exists.

 But Booth fled on horseback to the Maryland home of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd, who treated Booth's broken left leg. Booth was shot to death by a Union sergeant while hiding in a burning barn in Virginia twelve days after he shot Lincoln.
