I give Columbus a better chance at upsetting the wings, then I give the Blues, but I do think this series could go to 6 or 7 games. I usually view the Canucks pessimistically because they have blown it so many times... but this year could be the year they make a run *knock on wood*
I don't see any value in taking them for this series... but I have put a few units down on them to win the cup @ 15-1.
Look at their line-up usually the Canucks have one glaring weakness. But this year:
Defense: Solid, good depth and underrated Forwards: Getting secondary scoring for once / I think Kesler impresses many in the playoffs this year and the Blues will regret letting go of Ryan Johnson after this one is done ( one of the best offseason acquisitions made all year) Goalie: Arguably best in the league and rested

very good writeup. the nucks created the advantage when coach vignault split up the first and second lines moving ryan kessler back to the second line with sundin and demitra and put alex burrows with the sedin twins (haha about them being sisters!). Most teams have been putting their top defensive guys on the sedins, but that has been leaving kessler and sundin a huge opening and many opportunities. i've been following canucks for a long time and this is the year folks. today vancouver is sunny and warm, which means the guys have been relaxed, juiced up and are ready. the thing is, all these other cities have lots going on... detroit has the tigers and pistons, st. louis has cards, but hockey is ALL Vancouver has! People here are friggin obsessed with canucks and everywhere you go, signs fly with the slogan 'we are all canucks'. nucks in 5. but the line is too high for me... hahaha

Paul Kariya did not travel with Blues to Vancouver
Although there were indications from the Blues that Kariya could be available for Game 1 of the Blues-Canucks series Wednesday, the team said Monday that the veteran left winger, who had surgeries on each hip, is not in Vancouver and doesn't have a flight booked.
"Paul is not here," Blues coach Andy Murray said. "He is not practicing with us, and until I see him on the ice here, he's not part of the equation. When Paul's here, we'll start thinking about him. But at this time, he's not here."

Have a nice sized parlay with Nucks/Bruins series -117. Put your house on the Blues and find a nice sized box.
If i'm coming across as a dick it's because I am. Just kidding, I'm really just fired up for the playoffs. No hard feelings boys, may the best team win.

People are obviously betting the Blues hard. Series line now down to -220 at my book from a -290 open. I ripped myself off as I'm shocked it has come down that much.

Before betting favorites on the puckline it is not bad to consider faves were for example only 35% ATS during last year playoffs. That means betting puckline is going against the numbers. Picking the right spots for PL should be very difficult again.

Actually I kinda like the over 5 in that game. ATS stats was just meant as an info for all.
Dont think I ll be playing any sides tommorow. Locked the Devils to win the series at -130 yesterday, Calgary too at +145, and some Stanley cup futures.
From other matchups I will be taking a look at Pittsburgh-Philly over 5.5, last playoffs they played 4 of six games over, cant see a reason for that to change this year.

I just think the Blues are going to be overwhelmed by the fact that these are the playoffs
The blues have been in the playoffs the whole second half as far as they are concerned. They have had the mindset that every game is a must win. I really don't think the playoffs are anything overwhelming at this point. They have nothing to lose mindset to go with hard fought games to end the year. Think this will be a series of close games. Blues lack of D will be a problem i think but they do have the better special teams.

You can be in playoff mode when you are playing Colorado and Phoenix and even other playoff teams . But until you are playing another team that is fighting for everything (and a better team) it is completely different. Thats my opinion on it.

The Blues is definitely the underdog in this series by a mile but I see the young blues team giving some troublesom bouts against the Nucks. This season between these two teams, both split 2-2 with both teams taking a win on the road. Some teams just play better against certain opponents. The Blues will not let down tomorrow nor will they let the Nucks win by blowing them out in the series. The Blues did not fight from being dead last to the #6th seed to let this all disappear. Would not be shocked at all if the Blues takes a game from Nucks in Vancouver.
