I didn't read too many posts in this thread, but I will most likely be on the Rams. These are two teams going in opposite directions and I can't help but take the stumbling, crumbling, Rams. I wouldn't want to take a team (the Redskins) that hasn't proven it can cover as a heavy favorite.
The Redskins have proven they are great as an underdog, and possibly a small fave - but being a heavy favorite is a totally different mindset.
Now, I know the Rams haven't covered all season as pretty large underdogs, but for some reason, I think that's about to change. If these Rams don't play inspired football this Sunday, then it's going to be one long season in St. Louis.

The closest they have kept a game is 17 points. This is either the best or second best team they have faced. They have been annihilated by backups. Eagles and Seattle both were missing their top THREE WRs and yet still passed at will on us. Our first round CB is a horrible bust, we cut a good CB in Fakhir Brown right ebfore the Bills game and our SS Chavous is by far the worst in the league. Just lost our TE McMichael for the season and the replacement Klopenstein cannot pass block to save his life.
At home you can almost count on us to cover a half before folding but on the road it is a non stop asskicking with no letup in sight. The man you guys are impressed with as our new "fiery" head coach could not with all that supposed fire get our D to do anything other than lay down. Our schemes are easily broken and at this point openly mocked by the opposition's O players. And they just keep on sucking.
We just basically promoted the Number One Reason Linehan got fired (Haslett and his historically bad D) to our head coach. That is insane and he should have been the first to go. We may show signs of life for a quarter or so but my team is mentally weak and will fold at the first sign of adversity. Portis is just the type of back to give us issues and Santana Moss is probably going to have a career day going against Tye Hill.
This team is getting outscored something like 42-10 on average. I might be being generous in that estimate. I have been saying we are the worst team ever for weeks now and no one listens. "No, they are not that bad, they might not even be the worst in the league this year!" Those comments amaze me. Trust me, I live here. I watch them all the time even every minute of preseason and yet people who have probably not even seen them more than once this season are willing to bet hundreds on them on the road against an NFC powerhouse because of historic trends created by teams that inevitably suck less than this one. That is downright hilarious.
You have been warned, same as I warned you guys before the Giants game. I will not be going nearly as large (I ended up putting about 75% of my account on that game) on this one but it is still going to be my biggest bet of the week.

Yeah, they're bad but they're not that bad. I think getting rid of Linehan really fires this team up. They had completely quit on the guy. Haslett restoring Bulger as the QB is a big statement to the locker room. There is still talent on this team, Bulger, Holt and Jackson can still play on offense. Jackson is getting better each week after missing training camp and had almost 200 total yards last game.
Earlier in the week I read an article (Rams.com maybe?) not sure where it was but it said the Rams were very happy with the play of the young D-line in the Bills game. 2nd year DT Clifton Draft played real well and clogged up the middle. The Rams had Carriker, Long and Draft playing and subbed in Laroi Glover and Leonard Little at times to keep everyone fresh. Leonard isn't a full game guy anymore but he was effective playing part time (had 2 sacks). Overall in that Bills game they held the Bills to 3.5 YPC and had 4 sacks against a pretty good Bills offensive line.

I just think 14 points is too many in this league especially against a rested team coming in with a new attitude and atmosphere in the locker room, espcially when the Skins are in a letdown spot. Not a classic letdown spot because there is no big game next week but nevertheless you just went into two division rivals stadiums and came out with 2 wins. You're 4-1 and suddenly every national media pundit is sucking your nuts, Jason Campbell is being weighed down by all the people jumping on his bandwagon, you're in the Top 3 in ESPN, CBS, FOX and SI's power rankings, now an 0-4 winless team that has played like shit in every game thus far is coming into your houseand you are suddenly expected to pound them. And on paper you should right? Sounds like an easy week, this game is gonna be a sinch for us Skins, fellas!.................

Is there a collective calm and confidence which will supercede the obvious-potential let-down against a bottom feeder? Will the Rams pick their pride up and compete? The question marks are way too large to risk $$$$ on this game either way.
Zorn has surprised a lot of people, including his own team & players. Is Zorn's team in a Zone? Is there a collective calm and confidence which will supercede the obvious-potential let-down against a bottom feeder? Will the Rams pick their pride up and compete?
