Books want the public all over Washington by setting this line below 14.
The media touts, who all work for Vegas, have spent all week annointing Washington "the best team in football."
Means this:
Either bet SL +13.5, or no bet at all.
And ClayCourtLesson has never bet on a public side in his life. He's the most paranoid person on this board about betting the public side. Every fuckin week spewing the same bullshit about every game being a trap. I'd like to know what your record is claycourt.

I've been betting the NFL for quite a few years now and I know one thing...I don't care how many points STL is getting...I WOULD NEVER TAKE THEM ON THE ROAD. I've circled WASH...but it will probably be a NO PLAY for me.

Stay away from both the Lions and Rams.....They are heartless right now and it is not worth chasing the chance they may cover.
Much better valueon the borad that these two losers.
Everyone wants to be the one that states I had ..... to cover this week. The question is how many times did you chase a loser team before you get that one win.

Redskins comming home for the first time in two weeks to play the Rams. Crowd will be up team will be pumped. This has blowout written all over it. The play is Redskins or no play at all.
You need to get together with Slingzz he likes Detroit. Lets play all the worst teams in the NFL

pfk51169, thanks for that research, When I saw your initial comments, I felt like I had seen something like that before (been doing this awhile).
TampaTony, my home boy, like your initial lean on the Rams, they are a bad team, that's why they're a heavy dog, 2 weeks ago, it was the Chiefs who were so bad and a big dog against Den (diff. circumstances, I know) but it was my play of the week. To bet on the NFL successfully, you have to take some chances and you better have some "big gonads", you know what I'm saying. If I play this game (and I might), it wouldn't be because I thought the Rams were going to play well but because it could most definitely be a flat spot for WASH, even @ home, after 2 huge wins O.T.R. AGAINST DIV. RIVALS. One mistake in the NFL could be a 14 point swing, so the 'SKINS need to be focused. This could be an ugly game, and that favors the DOG. These things could certainly happen, it's the NFL, LET'S FACE IT. Can't bet on logic in this league. Considering this play, thinking there could be a couple of better plays as well.
Early leans other games:
HOU-3, as a miami fan, I can see this one coming...
INDY-4, both teams a little banged up, huge win LW for Colts, back home, Peyton and co. will put up good #'s against stout Bal "D". Early season struggles helping the Colts line. Might have to take advantage.
NE +6, this is a big game for both teams and I think the Pats' are beginning to define themselves without Brady. Can't see anything but a "close to the vest" type of game. Only concern is I wouldn't have made this 6 pts, maybe 4-5, a little scary.
As always, best of luck to all!

Because they are playing one of the worst teams to ever show up on an NFL playing field in the last 3 years.
One of the most prominent sports writers in St Louis , Bernie Miklaus, called this the worst Ram team in the history of the franchise.
Yeah, they're bad but they're not that bad. I think getting rid of Linehan really fires this team up. They had completely quit on the guy. Haslett restoring Bulger as the QB is a big statement to the locker room. There is still talent on this team, Bulger, Holt and Jackson can still play on offense. Jackson is getting better each week after missing training camp and had almost 200 total yards last game.
Earlier in the week I read an article (Rams.com maybe?) not sure where it was but it said the Rams were very happy with the play of the young D-line in the Bills game. 2nd year DT Clifton Draft played real well and clogged up the middle. The Rams had Carriker, Long and Draft playing and subbed in Laroi Glover and Leonard Little at times to keep everyone fresh. Leonard isn't a full game guy anymore but he was effective playing part time (had 2 sacks). Overall in that Bills game they held the Bills to 3.5 YPC and had 4 sacks against a pretty good Bills offensive line.
Look, I don't think the Rams can win and the Skins may well blow the shit out of them and it wouldn't surprise me. I just think 14 points is too many in this league especially against a rested team coming in with a new attitude and atmosphere in the locker room, espcially when the Skins are in a letdown spot. Not a classic letdown spot because there is no big game next week but nevertheless you just went into two division rivals stadiums and came out with 2 wins. You're 4-1 and suddenly every national media pundit is sucking your nuts, Jason Campbell is being weighed down by all the people jumping on his bandwagon, you're in the Top 3 in ESPN, CBS, FOX and SI's power rankings, now an 0-4 winless team that has played like shit in every game thus far is coming into your houseand you are suddenly expected to pound them. And on paper you should right? Sounds like an easy week, this game is gonna be a sinch for us Skins, fellas!.................

One other point: Anyone remember earlier this year when the Bills had won 2 straight against playoff teams from last season, including a HUGE win @ Jacksonville the week before, and they came home with people saying "wow, these Bills are pretty good" and suddenly they were at home and expected to trounce an awful Oakland team playing it's 2nd straight road game and playing 3 time zones away after a long flight.
Final Score: Buffalo 24, Oakland 23 with Buffalo not showing up for most of the game still thinking about their previous big wins, they only got the SU win thanks to 17 4th quarter points and a last second FG.
What about this one..........
They weren't at home but doesn't anyone remember just a couple weeks ago when the Broncos were putting up 50 points a game and coming off 2 big home wins over good teams (San Diego, and Denver) and everyone was saying "holy fuck look how good the Broncos are! They're putting up 50 a game!" After those 2 games the Broncos were 3-0, the talk of the town and had were suddenly expected to pound an 0-3 Chiefs team that coming into that game was a royal disgrace with 2 embarrsing losses to the likes of Atlanta and Oakland (at home!)
Final Score: Kansas City 33, Denver 19....just like the Buffalo game it looked like the Broncos were asleep the whole game and never really showed up.
just throwing it all out there...........

Yea, Im just not seeing what everybodyelse is seeing with the RAMS. Yea they got blowed out for the first quarter of the season. However, the RAMS DO HAVE TALENT, and maybe that talent was not willing to play for the fired coach. Now that a new coach has stepped in, with some fire, I fully expect the RAMS to cover. WASHINGTON is not an elite team! I have watched NFL football for some 15 years, and teams like WASH come and go during the first quarter of the season. They wont even make the playoffs this year. Yea they are hot now, but once they lose, they will be like every other team. I'm sick of people being on WASH. THEY ARE NOT THAT GOOD. Especially not 14 points better than the RAMS. NO WAY.

Throw all of the stats out the window. Washington takes this week off, period. I am pounding St. Louis Sunday. My local limits each bet to $500 tops and i will be putting $500 on Washington + 13.5 or higher depending on what it is on Sunday. It will only go higher.

The game following the first bye in the 1993 season may qualify as another system play (the Falcons won SU), but since Covers didn't list a point spread, I can't tell if they were a favorite or an underdog. So I'll just leave this one alone. That leaves me at 16-2-1 ATS.

I'm not touching this game but if I had to, I'd take the horrible Rams and the points. Force the Skins to cover and enjoy some comfort. Rule of thumb in the NFL: A team is never as good as their last win and a team is never as bad as their last loss. I never lay 2-TDs againsts anyone. That's just too many points in a league that has already shown quite a few upsets already this season. Avoid this game or take the Rams is my suggestion. Good luck though cuz it sure doesn't look like a good play to mem- either way you go.
