There are about 5 teams in the entire NFL that play professional caliber football. The rest are mostly complete garbage. The problem for us is trying to figure out which garbage is going to be less shitty then the garbage they compete against on a week to week basis. Look closely at over/ unders in the NFL. There are a few every week that are no brainers. Then there are games that seem like no brainers but really aren't. Learn to figure out the difference and you can make some money. Last week example Jags/Colts, Patriots/ Steelers, Giants/Panthers, Seahawks/Niners. All great games to bet O/U because they actually played out exactly how they should have. You won't hit them all but do your research and try to avoid picking lots of sides. I don't care who thinks they're a top notch capper on here, you're never going to be able to predict a New York Jets Joe Flacco 4th quarter comeback miracle. Many of these games just aren't worth betting on. And mostly because the teams/coaches are so bad that they are completely unpredictable. And then you have the Bills. Ah, thank God for the Bills.

When two teams combined score ZERO points in 30 minutes of football there is something seriously wrong. I had a teaser (stupid I know). Bills -3 / vikes/eagles over 42.5. should have hit that with ease. But nope no scoring in a full half of football. Rediculois

in general, unders happen a lot earlier in the season as offenses find their groove.
outside of a select few, teams have eschewed doing all that in preseason. preseason for most is about looking at rookies/younger players
and avoid injury to their major players.
teams arent required to play fast. defenses can in fact be good and teams are realizing that beefing up the defensive side of the ball is imperative.
i can agree there arent enough quality QBs and without one, a team can be limited on offense. i dont forsee a solution here.
but maybe wait a few more weeks before making sweeping generalizations and see how teams adjust into October
I think a big part of it is to play another day... with the amount these players are making today... the urgency... is to play another year... it is worth millions... I think this is a part of an understanded rule... to not go full speed often... and the rules changes have actually made this easier to do... I also think many do not care much about winning... I think the root of all evil carries more meaning these days. Just my 2 cents.
The problem lies with the N.F.L and the Players Union. The N.F.L product these days is horrid. Your NOT really seeing a live game of raw football like it used to be under guys like Lombardi. The N.F.L has turned live raw football into live fantasy football. It's not a really a "live raw" football game, it's the simulation or the mirage of a real football game. In this mirage, there is lots of scoring, and the prized QB's are protected w by rule. Injury to star QB's are not good for T.V ratings, so change they the rules of the game. God forbid if defense gets in the way of a wide receiver. You need big plays for the T.V ratings according to the N.F.l so they changed the rules of the game again to make that happen. You have the mirage of the defense on the field, but they are not actually allowed to play defense. Just run around and send a few guys after the QB for excitement...but don't tackle him or hit him and for God's sake leave the W.R's alone. But, play defense? There clearly is lack of preparation and conditioning in preseason. The Packers along with most other teams didn't even bother playing any starters in any of the 3 preseason games. Why? The players are to precious to get hurt. They don't do "two a day's anymore". The Packers started the season with 4 starters not playing because of Injury anyway. Think about this. There is only 11 minutes of actual football being played in every NFL game. Let that sink in....11 minutes of live football. Every single minute of the 11 minutes is under the absolute control of the N.F.L via penalty's as a result of rule changes. Have you noticed that over the last couple years, just about every big play that could change the potential of outcome of game gets flagged and is reviewed by none other then the N.F.L. They want to make sure the out come is line with what the N.F.L needs of T.V ratings & Vegas The N.F.L and the players union just don't care about the quality of the product. They don't want "raw live football" They want "live fantasy football" in which the N.F.L controls the entire 11 minutes of the game. There is a war on excellence in the country and it's bleeding the glory of football to death. They want the Glory and the money but don't want to work for it. Now what I just wrote is a hyper critical evaluation of current state of the N.F.L and maybe its just a wrong read on my behalf, but the N.F.L product is just not what it used to be. Cars, lawn mowers, t.v's and ways of communication have all changed, some for the better, some not. I just think the N.F.L should stop manipulating Football rules to suit T.V ratings. Go back to a 16 game season with 4 preseason games. Let the defense play defense, instead of the "hand off defense" and take away rules the require football players to change the laws of physics in mid air to prevent a penalty. I would say as a guy that has family & buddies in the league... These guys still train hard AF and are absolute monsters !
The real issue is coaching . These coaches are terrible . Players execute game plans but Job security Cancel culture and intense media scrutiny has these guys operating under a microscope especially these 1-4 year coaches which is most of the league...Coaches call the plays and QBs cant/won’t audible at the line every play most of these coaches are coaching not to lose .
Anyone else notice how a lot of players aren't wearing knee pads or even thigh pads anymore? Most punters and kickers go out there with no leg pads at all. A lot of WRs and DBs don't wear knee pads. Most LBs aren't wearing the bigger shoulder pads or the neck pads anymore. I'm afraid that in 20 years, the NFL will become a 2-hand touch league - imagine the number of replays for that. Or maybe they'll just go the flag football route. Either way, the game has been pussified and it's really sad to witness its decline.
