God bless anyone who backs Hill on the road. I am definitely leaning towards the Vikings without looking deep into the game.

The numbers actually favor SF, but I wouldn't touch this game.  

Last week, Gore ran for 80 yards on a single play.  That was almost half his total.  Now he has an ankle injury, so he won't walk away from those DBs like he did last week.

Also, last week, Seattle lost their QB at the end of the 1st half, and Seattle was scoreless in the second half.  Again this inflates the numbers for SF.

Finally, Minnesota hasn't put up big numbers because there's been no need.  When you're ahead 10 points, what are you going to do?  Have Favre throw it, or give it to Peterson?

The 49ers have a good shot at covering or out right win against the Vikes. Gore got shut down against the Cards and they won. Last season the 49ers won 2 east coast games against the Bill's and Jet's. Niner's has played better teams then the Vikes this season which gives them an edge. The last 2 games played, it was the defense that helped win both games. Shawn Hill is not a flashy QB with great numbers, somehow he just manages enough to keep the games close. He does have a better home then road record to take into consideration. In the end it will be Brett Favre versus the 49ers Defense for the game.

Minnesota's run d has been exposed a bit.. but it isnt fair to say its not good.. their pass d has been exceptional tho.. even through the garbage time, Brady quinn had 179 yrds passing.. and had 60 of them on the last drive which meant nothing to the vikes.. only to boost the Browns morale as they hadnt scored an offensive td in 8 games counting back to last year.. Matt Stafford had 130 yrds going 18-30.. yes theyre cupcake teams but both were on the road.. Minny's first home game and id say Favre takes some shots down field this game.. could be brutal early on

I love the 49ers also as a fan, and initially leaned SF +7, but not so fast. SF has 1 REC TD in 2 games vs. NFC west defenses. With MINN being at home, the run defense strong, how is SF gonna score? SF and MINN are both small ydg passing teams with the adv going to Favre. SF has stopped Julius Jones and Co and Tim Hightower and Rookie, so facing AP will be the test we are waiting to see. If AP manages the clock or just hits HR's, this game could be a blowout quick.

Vikings are looking ahead & this is not a let down spot for the 49ers, Singletary will have this team playing fior real this week, 49ers have a great chance for the outright win here!

I'm a big fan of the Raiders and Niners as well. I work in the bay area and I attend their games whem I'm around. In no way do I want to be critical of this team, in fact, I'm impressed with the way Singletary has them playing. They aren't the flashy nor are they the most talented team but they play with passion. I just don't like them in this spot because I believe Minny will win the battle on the line of scrimmage on BOTH sides of the ball. If the Niners cover or win the game, they will have to be strong on the offensive line and give Hill time to complete passes. If they are one dimensional, which I think they will be, game over.

jumped teh gun and got niners +6.5. no sweat...i'm confident this is too many points. that niners D is for real, and shaun hill is a game manager. he isn't gonna throw 3 TDs, but he isn't gonna throw 3 INTs either. a little bothered by gore's injury, but who isn't playing a little hurt in the NFL? i believe the viks will be reduced to pounding away with AP, and tho he will have some success, he faces quite a test this week. niners are an extremely balanced defense imo, and i will not trust favre in this spot. points all day. i may be backing the niners a lot this year....i think they're gonna be underrated til the bandwagon begins...could be wrong, but...

There is a damn good reason that this line is -7 and I would play the Vikings here or back away. 
 
This remonds me of last year when the 2-0 Panthers visited the 0-2 Vikings and the Vikes where favored by 3.  They blew CAR out that game.
 
Call it a trap game, call it what you want.  The books arn't trying to screw with anyones heads other than the fact that they have GOOD reason to believe that MINN takes care of them.
 
Its not that hard to see.  San Fran does not throw the ball much.  Singletery even said he would welcome Crabtree. 
 
SF does not score much.  Even with the day Gore had last week, there was NO passing game to compliment that offense.   
 
Gore won't be able to run like that against MIN especially if SFcannot pass.  He couldn't against ZONA either (30 yds on 22 attempts).
 
Hassleback was out most the game.
 
AP can give the Vikes clock control and Favre and the D can take care of the rest.  Close?  Perhaps through 3 quarters.  But I could easily see a 23-10 Vikes win.

I really would love to see a SF WIN, but I am afraid what we are seeing, as much as I didn't want it to work, a BF led vikings team with some time to gel and then explode for a victory here. If the 49ers can slow AP, shake down Berrian and Rice at the line and get some rush on BF while finding a hole in that run defense on the left side getting past Greenway thus sending talented SF WR core down the middle of that VIKE SEC, we might get some TD's!   

DEC 12 2007: In mop up duty of a 27-0 1H lead by the Vikes and a concussion sending Trent Dilfer out of the game, Hill played the rest of the game, completing passes at a very high rate!. His stat line was good that day, but only managed one SF TD in the 2H.

He gets his 2nd chance in a starting way this wknd! 0-0, new coach and a more experienced team around him!

  ATL +4 good value with a smarter QB than either Mark Sanchez or Trent Edwards with more talent around him on the offensive side of the ball. Yes, MT is not Fred Jackson on MNF yet, but if he gets into the LB core of NE, let it Ryan!

First off dont claim to be a 49er fan beause any real fan of them would never bet large bets against their own team, especially two weeks in a row. so stfu if u gonna say money is money cuz its not when it comes to ur "team". i hate it when people say money is money and they bet against there team. betting should never come b4 anyones team, play another fuckin game if that the case. so stfu amd.
