If you take 2 steps, 5 steps, 3.5 steps, if you go down you have to maintain possession through the catch....

You're clearly a moron, after you maintain possession the ground cant cause loss of possession.

Taking 2 steps towards out of bounds before starting to go down to the ground as forced by a defender is not going to the ground during the process of a catch. Refs got that one wrong.

It is a rule that frustrates most fans but it is pretty easy to understand. You must maintain possession of the football all the way to the ground.

It has been proving that these refs don't know much they are just interpreting the rule as they see it. The rule of possession is not clearly defined and therefore you can do whatever you want with it. Like i said anywhere else and that is a catch but not in the NFL, also for some refs with the interpretation of the rule that could have been considered a catch. Def. a borderline call one which the refs make all the time. I'm faulting the system not the play or the result of the play.
