    TYPING MISTAKE:

    Using your hypothetical scenerio:

let's say USC was -10 for the game and was up 42-0 at the half and now the 2H was pk.....

would you rather take USC at -42 for the game (forfeiting 42 points for free) or take the dog at pickem (buying 42 points for free)?

I would take the dog at adjusted game line of +42. It works both ways. This system is just trying to find the biggest difference between the original game line and the adjusted game line at halftime. It's another way of getting an alternate spread or teaser for free. I have no idea the winning percentage of this system bc I haven't tracked that many games, it just makes alot of sense. Given the USC example. If I had the chance to take USC's oppenent at +10 or +42 prior to the game, I would take the +42.

well then why not these plays from Sunday:

Well Giants were -7 for the game, up 27 -6 at the half, pk for 2H...wouldn't you have pounded Seahawks + 21 instead of the +7 it was befor the game? Afterall "the linesmakers are mostly correct"?

What about the Chiefs? The Panthers were -9.5 for the game, up 21-0 at the half, Panthers were -4.5 2H. Wouldn't you pound the Chiefs at +25.5, since "the linesmakers are mostly correct"????

And lastly, what about the Lions? The Bears were -3.5 for the game, up 17-0 at the half, and -1/2 for the second half. Wouldn't you pound the Lions at +17.5 instead of the +3.5 they were befor the game since the "linesmakers are mostly correct"?

    hey pork,
i understand how you come up with the middle number and all. but how do you come up with the pick since if the middle number is great than 10, there is a pick but which side?

    ALL LOSERS!!!!!

THE SYSTEM ONLY WORKS IN THE GAMES WHERE BOTH TEAMS ARE COMPETITIVE. I WOULD ACTUALLY LEAN TOWARDS THE DOMINATE TEAM IN THOSE SITUATIONS. I AM WILLING TO GIVE UP POINTS IF ONE TEAM IS COMPLETELY DOMINATING. YOU ALSO HAVE TO SEE HOW THE TEAMS SCORED IN THE FIRST HALF (WERE THEY FLUKES? DEF TD'S) ALSO NEED TO LOOK FOR KEY INJURIES

    huh?

    you last post stated:

"I would take the dog at adjusted game line of +42. If I had the chance to take USC's oppenent at +10 or +42 prior to the game, I would take the +42."

So first you say in a 42-0 game you would take the underdog +42 at halftime(pk) and now in your next post you state the system only works when both teams are competative? In a 42-0 game both teams are competetive......

Look Rounders550, you may have done well betting 2H's but that in no way is a system...you can't pick some games and forget about other games. A system plays each and every game no matter what the line is or who the teams are.....I congratulate your wins in 2H plays, but in no way is it a system!!!!

You take the more logical outcome:

for example let's look at Bears vs Lions from Sunday:

Befor the game, Bears are -3.5.

At the half, bears lead the game 17-0.

2H half line is bears -1/2, thus since I don't think it will land in the middle, it only leaves 2 choices:

    a) Bears win the game by 18 points or more, covering the original -3.5 and the -1/2 2H bets.

    or

    b) Lions come back to win the game outright or loose the game by 3 points or less covering both the +3.5 for the game as well as +1/2 for the 2H.

Choice A) Bears winning the game by 18 points or more is more logical to me since it is already 17-0. I don't feel a team down by 17 can come back and outscore the bears by 14 points in the 2nd half.

I guess you're the first guy to crack the code...I would hate to be your bookie.  Talk to me in three weeks when your looking for a loan so your legs don't removed from your waist.

I agree with this. The discount system would be foolish to play here and the 2nd half bet should be on the team that is dominating.  However, if a favorite is losing by a few points at half and now all they have to do is win the game to cover, or even better they can still lose by a couple and you win the 2nd half bet you would have to be drunk not to think that is a smart play. Barring an injury to key player obviously. It is foolish to start giving random examples of success/failures and say what about this game it worked or what about that game it didn't...because unless you looked at every single game it is pointless.

I can post all of my wins from using this method on the forum and list them and list all of my losses but that would take way too much time and effort to prove to a skeptic that I make money off of it.  So if you don't believe this "discount system" works as Rounders refers to it than whatever man. Keep to your system and hopefully you win.

Tell you what, I'll do the research for you and list all your "system" plays and your record for this entire 2008 NFL season....just give me the rules of the system and I'll do all the research and post all my finding here 2marrow....won't take you any work other then spelling out your "discount system" right here for all to see

what do you need to look for for the game to be a play?

hey pork, lets see if i understand your system correctly.
    Troy -4 (game)
    Troy 17 - 10 half time
FA - 3 to cover the game so middle is < 10
    No play

    and if
Troy -4 (game) and half time score is
    Troy 10-17
    Troy -11 to cover game> 10 ---> there is a play then
Troy (pick) 0 (real odd) then 2 possibilities
Troy scores 12 to cover game and 2H
FA scores 1 to cover game and 2H and since FA already up 17-10 and needs only 1 point difference in 2H to cover both. Therefore the PLAY is FA
    Did i understand correctly?

what do you need to look for for the game to be a play?

Let me explain the system for you. While it is apparent that you have success with your system, I think that if you combine some of mine into it you would have even more success. What I do is I look to see primarily favorites who are losing at the half but still in the game. For example:

Chargers -9 for the game against Raiders and losing 15-0 at halftime.  2h line is SD -7. I would pound the Chargers because here is a team that the bookies thought would kill OAK as referenced by the -9 game line.  Now by betting SD in 2h I effectively have SD for the game at +8. This is a no brainer.

I don't follow the same logic on the underdog however. Say for example the Chargers are winning the game 21-0 at half and are a pick em for 2h.  I wouldn't be like wow I have the raiders at +21 instead of +9, because the raiders are inferior as evidenced by the SD-9 game spread and SD should beat the crap out of them.  SD beating them by 21 is a lot more believable than OAK beating SD by 8.  Therefore I would take SD since they have the momentum and are supposed to crush OAK.  If I were to apply this method to underdogs it would go against what is supposed to happen. To the point you made to Rounders that if you woke up and saw KC +35 wouldn't you pound them. Most people probably would but after watching the first half of football and seeing them get dominated by a superior team it is very believable that KC can lose by 35 so I would keep my money with CHI to keep up the beating. But if CHI was losing and I had a 2h line where all I needed was for CHI to win I would roll with that because CHI coming back to win is a lot more likely than KC (an inferior team) to keep up its momentum over CHI.

You also have to take into consideration how teams arrive at the halftime score. If you watched that Saints/Vikes game monday  night you would have saw how the Vikes got their points and how they didn't even deserve to be in the building with the Saints. Vikes couldn't move the ball for anything and there were crazy plays resulting in Vikes points. Now I had Saints -6.5 2h so I pounded it and won. You mentioned that Reggie Bush ran back two punts or else Vikes would have covered 2h and you wouldn't have pushed but Reggie Bush running back 2 punts can't compare to how the Vikes got their points. My system basically exploits something that is supposed to happen but hasn't up until halftime. I'm not trying to take anything away from your system from what you post and what I am reading here it seems very succcessful.

I think that if you use your system and incorporate a little bit of mine into it you would actually win more and vice versa same thing with me. I haven't looked at all the games but if you look at your losses check to see if you lost them by betting the underdogs in 2h in situations where I am taking favorites. Maybe we combine these two systems and thought processes and never lose!

    tommys1081.....

I went back to look at the first 3 weeks of the NFL season and here are the plays where the favorite was losing at the half but still in the game and laying less points in the second half than they were laying befor the game started:

    Week #1:
Bengals were -2 for the game
At the half Ravens up 10-3
    Real 2H line Bengals -3

Shouldn't you now love the Bengals +4 for the game instead of -2?
    LOSER! 2H SCORE 7-7

    Week #1
Patriots were -16 for the game
At the half Patriots up 7-3
    Real 2H line Patriots -6

Should't you love the pats -10 instead of -16?
    LOSER! 2H SCORE PATRIOTS 10-3

    Week #1
Lions were -3.5 for the game
At the half Falcons up 21-14
    Real 2H line Lions -3

thanks for posting up all of the losses and none of the wins lol...why you acting like a jerkoff about it when we're all trying to do the same thing - think of ways to win more often than not.

first off, if you were able to read you would see that the patriots play in week 1 never would have happened because they weren't losing the game at the half they simply weren't covering.

secondly, you have to be blind to not see the trend here...first couple of weeks the bookies don't know who is strong and who is not and everyone is getting a feel for the season...now that the season is kicking into gear the method is working...and i didnt take minny mon night because only someone with cerebral palsy would after watching the first half so its pointless to say id be 4-6-1 because if i did.

i could go back and post all of your losses too and none of your wins but i don't have the time or the desire too...im trying to help everyone out including you so if you wanna keep talking to me like some dik then i can drive over the outerbridge into nj and give you a nice smack...good luck with your system too that is completely unverified

Hey moron I listed every play that fell into your system...go back andlook over the first 5 weeks and tell me what plays I missed.....I agree we are all here to try and do the same thing, but you can't just come on here and spout off BS...show your games...show your results.....post 1 winner befor the game goes final.....otherwise shut up cause noone cares....I have listed every single play in the nfl that fell into my system side wise and it's 14-9 on the year....this past weekend I listed every single play for NCAA Football and it went 18-12 and is 27-15-1 on the season...these are facts with posts to back it up, not me just spewing BS....My entire system is laid out for all the people to see and anyone can go back and try and find any plays that were missed, I guarantee I have listed every single play......You can mouth off all you want but noone cares unless you have facts and stats to back it up,any old joe can come on here and say they are winning but unless you post your plays befor the games go final or you have a system with distinct rules and you go back and list every single play that falls into those rules and show a winning record, NOONE CARES, your just spouting BS! So like I said go back and look over all the NFL games from the first 5 weeks and tell me what games I missed that fell into your system....I guarantee their aren't any I missed.....so show us how this so called "discount system" is a winning system......I even offered to do all the research for you, just tell me what are the rules of the system and I'll go back and list every single play that fell into your system for the entire 2008 NFL season......From what you have posted, I found your system to be to  look for a favorite who has to be losing the game at halftime, that is giving less points than they were at the start of the game(mind you that every single time a favorite is losing at the half they will be giving less points than they were befor the game started....what do you want them to lay more points in the 2H than they were for the game?),but not in week #1.... is that the system in a nutshell? so in otherwords just bet every favorite that is losing outright at the half but only week #2 on?....Cause if it is your system, I will go back and take every single game from week #2 through week #5 and list them for you and all to see with your record....so please correct me if I'm wrong....so I can do the research for you...in fact I'm gonna go back and start with week #2 right now ...give me about an hour and I'll come back and list every single NFL game that has the favorite losing and laying less points in the 2nd Half than they were in the game.

So there you go Tommy every single game where the favorite was losing at the half since week 2.

10-10 on the year or 9-10-1 depending on the 2H line you got with New Orleans. And if you add in week #1 which it went 1-5 you would have a 11-15 record.....so weather you throw out week 1 or not, either way it is a losing system!

you seem to have a few winners out once again...how can you make picks on future games when you can't even research history properly...from week 2 on i am 12-9-1 (57%) and if you count week 1 where you have to be retarded to place a bet without seeing a team yet i am 13-14-1 (48%).

    now here are your errors:

    1) you count week 4 chi/phi as a loss when in reality it was a push since i got phi at -3 for 2h as soon as it came up.

    2) you forget to count:

    CAROLINA -3 CHICAGO
at the half, Chicago up 10-3
2H Car -3(+4 for the game)
    Car wins 2H 17-7

    WASHINGTON -1 NEW ORLEANS
at the half, new orleans up 10-9
2H pick em was (+1 for the game)
    Was wins 2H 20-14

    3) got new orleans at -6.5 (learn to read you can see that in my previous posts)

    57% = winning system...so suck it easy

hey moron noone anywhere in the world had Philadelphia -3 2H week #4: everywhere had the game -3.5 or -4 even the opening line at every casino in vegas just take a look at vegas insider they have the opening line as well as any moves.....

Secondly the saints were -1 against washington week #2 not washington -1 so that is no play since the favorite was winning at the half....as I got the saints -1,

so 11-10 on the year......not including week #1...thus your profit for the year? $0.00

    so suck it easy!!!!!
