It's 1996 all over again. Favre didn't slay the dragon, but he can slay the dragonslayer, with more than a little help from one of the youngest supporting casts in the league. The stage is set for another Patriots-Packers Super Bowl. That's no knock on the Chargers or Giants, their young quarterbacks, or their oft-criticized coaches. It's a testament to the greatness of the Patriots and to those two perennial forces of nature that rule Wisconsin: the cold and Brett Favre.

Hey Travis Jerkoff. U make it sound like Marion Barber averaged 10 yards a carry. He only averaged 4.8 yards a carry and that was because the Giants were much more concerned with not giving up big passing plays. U take away his one long run and he has 26 carries for 90 yards. And i would take Marion Barber anyday over Ryan Grant. If u think bum ass Ryan Grant is running for 100 yards this week your smoking crack. The Giants averaged 6 yards a carry against the packers the first time they played and u can expect much more of the same this time around. Giants will double the Packers in rushing yards on sunday.
I guess we shall see on Sunday, dude. Ryan Grant is far from a bum ass...since week 8, he has tallied the 2nd most rushing yards in the league. GB's O-Line is playing 100 times better than they were in week 2, so your using that contest as data for this one is a pretty silly capping method. I believe the Packers were ahead by 20 or more most of that game...it's pretty easy to rush for a nice average-per-carry against a prevent defense. The Pack rolls on Sunday. I wonder how the Giants felt when they got off that plane last night. It was -12 degrees with a wind chill of -29.
Giants lose.

I agree 100%, and if the long ball is taken away because of the weather GB still has the ability to spread things out because the have 7 receivers that Favre gos to regularly. Also GB D overall is faster and better than the Giants. And last but not least Manning never played in a game below 24 degrees above zero so it will be 40 degrees colder than that on Sunday. Besides Mannings passer rating in the 24 degree game against Washington was 32.

i'll bet they felt cold? What kind of question is that? Wonder why Packers practiced indoors all week. Seems like bad way to prepare for single digit temps. Not that it was that cold in NJ all week but Giants were outside practicing w/ frozen balls all week so as far as preparation goes I'd venture to say they are plenty prepared for the elements. Again, Favre wanted nothing to do w/ the cold in Chicago and played like the scattergun Favre that surfaces every now and then which is what NY will try to bring out sunday. I know GB's O line is good but so was Dallas and they put relentless pressure on Romo who is a lot more mobile than Favre at this point in his career. There is no way Packers roll the Ginats unless they are undable to pressure Favre and Eli turns it over plain and simple. Giants will win the ground game write that down. They have the better rush offense and better rush defense, this is fact

You are correct in that spreading NY out is the best way to approach the game but what you are leaving out is if NY is able to pressure Favre w/ their front 4 & NFL leading pass rush for sacks/hurries it won't matter. I understand GB plays a horizontal quick throw classic west coast offense style of a game but this can still be negated by getting Favre on the move disrupting his timing, seen it plenty of times before. There is no doubt that if he is able to sit in pocket w/ little to no pressure the Giants are in deep shit because they are out manned in the secondary due to injuries combined w/ matchup issues. This is the #1 key to the game. If Giants can get pressure and Eli manages the game like he has past 3 games there is no reason they can't win because they will be able to have success on the ground and defend the run. Come back to this Sunday night and you will see that I am correct w/ this analysis. The rest of the analysis doesnt mean crap w/ the cold weather thing. It's cold for everybody and this is a northeast team that deals w/ cold and wind all the time so let that angle go once and for all because weather won't be a factor unless there is precip and or wind > 15 mph

Favre is the man! However he is always good for 2 int's. If Gmen can get those 2 picks and with a few sacks they will keep this close enough for them to win in the end!!

I'll be here after Giants game regardless of the outcome. I mentioned what they need to do to stay in the game and possibly win. I can only see Giants winning in a game that goes as I said w/ Favre under pressure and Eli managing the game w/ no costly T.O.s. in the 23-16, 19-17 type of game. I never touted anything & only analyzed the game and made my selection. You won't find me saying in any post that the Giants are "gonna roll"' like some of the idiots here.
