Thx much Europa. You know about me from the past. Dogs in the playoffs are my thing. I think Dallas gets exposed this weekend. No idea how this crappy division has 2 playoff teams.
Someone explain to me how the 49ers were road favorites a few weeks ago @ #1 seeded AFC Tennessee and dogs this week. If SF plays like they can this will be easy. If not I lose.
Dallas 1-4 against good teams and lost to Denver at home when that line was -10.5.
I call, and see this one as BS.

Yes Spottie, I can remember that. Dogs ATS were pretty decent in the Wild Card round in last few years.

It's probably because the 49ers just beat the Rams who most people would probably consider better than the Cowboys and yes a team can be an underdog and still have the public all over them. Early money is on San Francisco but the line is not moving from 3 I personally think San Francisco and straight up by a touchdown

@slamspurs Read one word before 'favorite'...it is called a descriptive adjective...as in 'Public Favorite'...I assumed that everyone on here knew that San Fran was the dog?... Dogs can be a public favorite too. I was not stating that San Fran was the favorite... Lets all get neurotic over this and nitpick...I used to professionally edit articles for a newspaper/magazine corporation...and you?
It's funny that you ask, because I edit documents for a corporation for a living. And I'm being dead serious about that.
But I wasn't trying to nitpick. That's why I left it at the one statement.
It's pointless to keep bickering about it. It's just that term is not used that often "public favorite." Because in general, the public always takes the favorites. There's only one maybe two games a week where the public takes a dog. That's why people point out "public dog" so often. Because there has to be really a overwhelming reason for the public to take a team that's getting points. The team that is getting points is usually the worse team, or in a worst spot at least.
Anyways, I've almost officially decided to lay off that game. It was actually the first pick I made this week until I started see the lovefest with Jimmy Garoppolo and his broken finger. Was also leaning the over, but someone reminded me that Dallas has scored 50 pts by themselves two out of the last three weeks.

The fact you edited articles is kind of irrelevant. The question isn't one of grammar or usage but one of gambling parlance. And as someone who has gambled for over 50 years the term "public favorite" to refer to a dog that the public is backing is never used and never should be used. A dog that the public is backing is a public dog; it's as simple as that. A dog is never a "Favorite" as you say. Sorry to burst your bubble but please go to any big sports book in Vegas tell them confidently that you edited articles and you want to bet on the public favorite and then put your money on a dog. They will know you are a rube.

Cowboys were in the drivers seat for the 2 seed before losing to the Cardinals. They have a 1-4 record against playoff teams outside of their sucky division Eagles, so yea I omit those. The way I see it the wrong team is favored or this should be a Pickem. I dont care about this games consensus, the books take losses on the games in the playoffs some years. This is only one play. 49ers moneyline and dont over think it.
BINGO!!!!
PS: l prefer ATS, +Pts @ a premium works quite well for me anyways
What do you call an Eternal Optimist? An accordion player with a beeper!

I assumed that every bettor getting info on a betting forum knows that the 49ers are dogs. Fact is that San Fran is a huge favorite with the public this week or a 'public favorite' despite them also being a dog... the two things are NOT mutually exclusive.

There's a lot of love for SF, which is actually a very mediocre team in my opinion. Micah Parsons is back today and will eat Jimmy G's lunch, Diggs will also have a pick. I really like Dallas in this spot at home. Dallas 36 SF 17 type game. Look for Amari Cooper to go off today too.
